The Urban EDC Rekluse-S

Monday, July 5th, 2021

We all know how much Justin Koch loves his bugs. But, it wasn’t until now that he was able to release a swarm of knives like this. Meet the Urban EDC Rekluse-S, the first in the Swarm Series – designed by Koch, produced by Urban EDC Supply! Operating blissfully on its own, as the name implies, the Rekluse-S is the perfect size to get everyday tasks done while riding seamlessly in your pocket. Like Wu-Tang’s ‘Killer Bees’, this one is soon to be followed by many, the Urban EDC Rekluse-S is the first in the upcoming ‘Swarm Series’. A fresh twist on a traditional folding knife. Unlike the namesake, you won’t want to keep this knife hidden away.

Like all Koch Designs and Urban EDC productions, the Rekluse-S has such an ergonomic curved design that fits your hand perfectly, offering a full four-finger grip. The Rekluse is a slipjoint knife, making it the perfect gentleman’s carry. Deployable with two hands (via a satisfying click), it is non-locking, making it legal to carry in most places across the country, and even the world! With an S35VN blade coming in at just 2.8 inches, blade length restrictions won’t be a problem for this beast either.

From the precision tip for smaller cuts, to the sweeping belly for slicing, the Urban EDC Rekluse-S will stun any prey. Now available for pre-order in OD green aluminum, jade G10, and brown micarta – are you going to pick just one, or collect the whole swarm?

Sneak Peek – OKC Retractable Bayonet

Friday, July 2nd, 2021

While Ontario Knife Co isn’t the only company who has developed a bayonet, it looks like they’ll be the first to market.

The OKC Retractable Bayonet attaches to your AR, or any firearm outfitted with a Picatinny Rail System. Featuring a 6-inch retractable blade crafted with high quality .1875”-thick S35VN steel (with blade hardened to 59 Rockwell C), the bayonet measures 13-inches in open position, and 7-inches when closed. With simple one-handed operation, the bayonet deploys with a quick pull of its spring-loaded, stainless steel knob. This same knob can be used to easily retract the blade back into its carriage when not in use. With multiple mounting options, the blade can be positioned forward or further back on the firearm to custom fit the barrel, and the user’s preference to how much blade is exposed beyond the barrel. The multi-functional blade can also be taken off the firearm and used as a regular knife.

The OKC Retractable Bayonet has a 6-inch long by 1.5-inch-wide housing constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum with a black anodized finish.

UltiClip

Wednesday, June 16th, 2021

UltiClip have been used for IWB holsters for quite awhile, but at the recent Blade Show in Atalanta, UltiClip showed how their device can be used to secure knives and other items in place for the draw from an inside waistband carry.

It’s a simple, low-profile device that can be attached via bolts to many sheaths and holsters, and is adjustable for height. The bail snaps into place, clamping either pant or belt.

Winkler Knives – Utility Crusher

Tuesday, June 8th, 2021

Last week’s Blade Show was the public debut of the Utility Crusher which replaces the SAR Knife in the Winkler line. The full tang construction from 80CrV2 retains the double cross guard as well as serrations along the spine of the blade.

The biggest change is the new pommel spike window breaker which is lower profile than on the SAR Knife which is less likely to catch your arm while wearing the knife on your belt.

Standard handle options include sculptured G10 and Micarta although they exhibited Oak handles at Blade Show.

I am told there are still some SAR Knives in stock so pick one up before they’re gone.

Monday, June 7th, 2021

At last weekend’s Blade Show Dynamis Alliance released their new Blade Oil.

Dom told me he spent quite awhile looking for the right product to protect his edged weapons and firearms from corrosion. His choice was this petroleum based oil. It remains effective across a wide and extreme Temp range: -30 to 425 degrees and is extremely cohesive being difficult to remove once it has been applied. It is also Salt Water Resistant. Each bottle comes with a removable Precision Drop Applicator nozzle.
