Arisaka Defense Releases New 300 Series Scout Compatible Light Body

Tuesday, December 30th, 2014

Apex, NC, December 30, 2014 – Arisaka LLC is pleased to announce the release of its new 300 Series Light Body.

Arisaka 1

The 300 Series Light Body is designed as a streamlined replacement for Surefire ScoutLight M300 bodies. It is manufactured without the mounting interface for the stock Picatinny clamp. This greatly increases the clearance for front sights when used in combination with the KeyMod and M-Lok Arisaka Inline Scout Mounts on handguards with 45 degree mounting surfaces adjacent to the top Picatinny rail, such as the BCM KMR, KAC URX4, and Geissele SMR MK8.

The 300 Series Light Body is compatible with all E1 series and Scout Light M300 series tailcaps and heads. It will also fit in any aftermarket Scout mount, as it retains the mounting holes and square lug interface on the underside of the light body.

It is also possible to build a complete light from scratch by sourcing a Surefire or aftermarket light head, and a tailcap or tape-switch.

The 300 Series Light Body is manufactured out of 6061 aluminum, type III hardcoat anodized, and made entirely in the USA.

SureFire Releases Its Most Powerful LED Flashlight Ever

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014

Fountain Valley, CA — SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products, has commenced sales of its most powerful LED flashlight in the company’s 35-year history. The new UDR Dominator® boasts a maximum output of an incredible 2,400 lumens, a level previously not attainable via light emitting diode (LED) technology.

“This represents a significant milestone for SureFire and is only the beginning of things to come as LED technology continues to evolve and improve,” said SureFire Director of Marketing Ron Canfield. “It’s yet another first from a company with a long history of firsts, including inventing the first WeaponLight and the first tactical flashlight.”

With its ultra-high maximum output and a deep precision reflector to shape the light into a far-reaching beam, the Dominator qualifies as a “tactical” flashlight, given its obvious military, law enforcement, and border security applications. But it’s also well-suited for maritime use, search-and-rescue operations, or any other application where an ultra-bright, portable searchlight would prove useful. Along with its 2,400-lumen max setting, the variable-output Dominator also produces eight other useful output levels and even has a strobe-light setting, designed to disorient an aggressor, and a disable feature to prevent accidental activation.

The Dominator is one of several “dual-fuel-capable” flashlights produced by SureFire, which means it can be powered by an included lithium-ion rechargeable battery or by twelve disposable 123A batteries, for situations where recharging the light between uses may not be an option. A built-in, color-coded LED fuel gauge keeps users abreast of remaining battery power, and the light can be charged via an AC wall socket or a DC vehicle socket. Built to be as rugged as it is powerful—for the obvious outdoor uses for which it is intended—the UDR is constructed of lightweight but strong aerospace aluminum, is hard anodized with a durable Mil-Spec finish, and has O-ring and gasket seals to protect sophisticated internal electronics from moisture and debris.

The UDR Dominator has an MSRP of $1,370 and is currently available for purchase through authorized SureFire dealers. It will also soon be available for purchase directly from SureFire by calling 800-828-8809 or visiting surefire.com online.

SureFire – UDR Dominator

Thursday, November 13th, 2014

What do you think of this beast from SureFire? It’s definitely solid and you’ve gotta love the MaxBlast mode which pumps it up to 2400 lumens. The field gauge feature is pretty handy as well. Does anyone have any field experience with it?

UDR

SureFire’s UDR Dominator is a powerful man-portable light, capable of outputting upwards of 2400 lumens of white light, ideal for military, border security, and maritime applications, or any mission where a portable white-light spotlight or searchlight is necessary. Featuring a body constructed of aerospace aluminum which is Mil-Spec hard anodized, the Dominator comes in at just under 12 inches in length and is O-ring and gasket sealed to keep out moisture, dirt, and dust. Users can switch between 8 output levels, with the lowest at 15 lumens. A strobe mode is also included with the Dominator.

The LED emitter on the Dominator is “virtually indestructible”, and is microprocessor regulated to maximize output and runtime. The window is coated and tempered to resist impact and thermal shock while maximizing light transmission. The precision reflector creates an extended-range beam.

A three separate push button head switch allows users to switch between constant-on, momentary-on, or MaxBlast modes, the later of which always delivers the maximum 2400 lumens output on every setting on the 11-position selector ring except for the off/disable position. The UDR Dominator is powered either by an included rechargeable Lithium-ion battery or twelve 123A batteries via the ‘battery magazine’. Users can charge the Dominator using either an included 120 volt wall charger, or 12 volt DC/car charger. A 3-color LED indicator, dubbed the “fuel gauge”, lets users know the current battery level of their Dominator.
