Flagrant Beard, LLC Launches New Apparel Line

Flagrant Beard, LLC, perhaps the only adventure, hard-use apparel company headquartered in a barn, is proud to announce the launch of their new line of products. The first wave of ginger-spawned goodness includes belts, printed tees and socks – soft goods intended for people who are anything but soft.

Flagrant Beard products are meant to be outdoors, on the edge and at risk. Though they will likely fit timid people with cold souls they will never suit them. This company has been, since its very inception, dedicated to the principle that you should wring every drop of joy from life; to the men and women who step into the arena, who know what it is to court failure by daring greatly; to those who would rather sweat and bleed and strive than sit comfortably at home protected by the toil and vigilance of others.

FB1

Flagrant Beard was never meant for those who are content to rest, to play it safe or to stand quietly by while great things are done elsewhere….in short, Flagrant Beard is about doing what needs to be done. It’s living life, “Balls out.”

Though our initial offering was a very well received shirt emblazoned with that very phrase, the most popular in our lineup thus far has been our belts. Handsome enough for church or formal dinner but rugged enough for a fight, they’re hand-made by Amish artisans near Nashville to exacting standards. The belts come in 2 styles, FB DuraBelt and FB Articulated Leather. Articulated Leather versions are available in black, burgundy or tan (sorry, no MultiCam or Gucciflage, and there’s no MOLLE or Velcro either). They’re 3/16 in. thick so they won’t “taco” under a gun or magazines and offer contrast stitching.

The DuraBelts look and feel like leather but are actually a polyester webbing with a TPU coating that makes them more durable, waterproof and easy to clean. They offer 2 ½ tons of tensile strength; enough to STABO some guys, though so far we haven’t actually tried it. DuraBelts are anti-microbial and offer extreme resistance to abrasion and moisture. Both belt styles feature threaded rivets to allow for interchangeable buckles, both are 1.5 in. wide and both are sturdy enough to beat someone to death but remain sufficiently comfortable for all-day wear.

Oh, and they’ll hold up your pants.

Sizes available include Small through XXL. Find the one most suitable for you with our sizing chart, or read more on our belt page.

Everything we do at Flagrant Beard is patriotic – including pouring the concrete for HQ!

Flagrant Beard offers gear for women too, of course, particularly those who’d rather be training for a gunfight than baking cakes. Take a look at the Annie shirt if you’re a lady who likes the smell of cordite or engine oil. After all, caliber knows no gender. You can find the complete line of women’s shirts online here.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – AGB Point Pad

FS_PointPad_group_4913

For this week’s Friday Focus, we’re taking a look at the AGB (Assaulters Gun Belt) Point Pad.  Back when I was a young man in the 90s, belt pads were all the rage, having been brought over from the UK where they were pretty common.  But they were all full belt pads and no one ever padded just sections of a belt like this.   The Point Pad just offers comfort where you need it.  Featuring comfort ventilated foam, wicking mesh, and multiple points of security, it can be used behind holsters, mag pouches, and other belt-mounted accessories.

Available in Black, Coyote, MultiCam, and Ranger Green.

Tribe One PackTach

Thursday, August 20th, 2015

My favorite part of Outdoor Retailer is finding new products from small companies. While the PackTach from Tribe One isn’t new, it’s certainly new to me. It allows you to create an attachment point on any fabric without cutting holes.

The PackTach is molded from acetal resin and used in combination with a 1″-3″ carabiner. You simply place the PackTach on the back of the fabric and guide the carabiner into place where it pins the fabric in place creating a new attachment point where none previously existed.

High Threat Concealment has just come out with their new Cobra Tactical Riggers (CRT) belt. So, to put it through its paces, they took a Chevy pickup, hooked the CRT to it and an F150 with the e-brake engaged, and let the Chevy run.

Guest Review – Whiskey Two-Four Ultralight 8×3 Split Panel

Wednesday, August 12th, 2015

Recently released from Whiskey Two-Four is their Ultralight 8×3 Split Panel chest rig. Like previous rigs the Split Panel is laser-cut from a sheet of Hypalon and loops are stitched along the edges. These loops are the perfect place to attach the buckles of their improved Universal Chest Rig Harness or to simply tie it down to the outside of a pack. Like many chest rigs on the market it will buckle perfectly into plate carriers and other vests with buckles on the chest and the addition of a Velocity Systems Swift Clip kit makes for a perfect way to retain the sides. The rig itself weighs nearly nothing, is ultra-strong, and will not hold water; all properties drawn from the use of Hypalon.

Mixing and matching your favorite pouches makes for endless rig combinations, as well as breathing new life into old disused pouches. Each side of the panel gives you 4 vertical columns and 3 horizontal rows to work with and is joined by two 1″ buckles. The ability to run a slick carrier and quickly switch load carriage by mission profile or personal preference makes WTF’s platforms a strong, light and compact solution. I’ve found the Split-front to be an especially awesome addition to the straps of a Grey Ghost Gear Lightweight Assault Pack or Haley Strategic D3 Flat Pack as a way to add additional storage up front where it counts.

The Whiskey Two-Four Ultralight 8×3 Split Panel retails for $38.43 and the Universal Harness will set you back $45.

These items, additional chest rigs, and the many custom items you have in your mind are available via www.wtfidea.com.
