To show you how far out of the loop I can get, I bring you the Wolf A1 Complete Upper Receiver which is an import of the Taiwanese T91 upper which fits to any standard AR lower.
Wolf Ammo told me this piston upper has been around since 2017. It uses a short stroke piston combined with a T91 handguard and charging handle.

I met this delightful lady and her husband in the lobby of this year’s NRAAM in Houston.
