After a long wait, I understand that the Rigid Lightweight Integrated Field Transport (R-LIFT) will finally be available for order. Weighing in at 6.5 lbs, it breaks down for storage making it a great option for a small unit rigid litter.

During last week’s TTRH 2014, Hodge Defense Systems Inc and Mega Arms LLC gave me a sneak peek at their new MRDS Mount.
Manufactured from 7075 aluminum, the Dogbone mount for the Aimpoint T1 is a joint project from Hodge Defense and Mega Arms. The mount gets it’s name from the Dogbone shaped clamp that holds it against a Mil Std 1913 rail.
This is a prototype, so there will be a couple of changes to the final, production model. For instance, they are adding a pin at the bottom of the mount to self center and the two cross bolts will change to Torx #20 heads with no threading at the ends.
There also mounting plates in the works to allow lower 1/3rd cowitness as well as true cowitness. Additionally, they plan to introduce plates for other mini red dot sights. Look for it this summer.

TrackingPoint is expanding into the semi-auto realm with the new TrackingPoint 500 Series ARs, announced for 2014. Built upon the Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 (an excellent rifle platform that I own), the TrackingPoint AR utilizes the same Tag Track Xact technology as the bolt-action rifle scopes, but in a smaller frame. This allows the shooter to make marked shots on targets while moving at speeds up to 10 mph out to 500 yards and utilize 2-12x magnification. Because of the integrated nature of the TrackingPoint system, it will only be available as a complete rifle w/ scope.
TP AR Networked TrackingScope Specs
Max Target Velocity – 10 mph
Magnification – 2-12x
Objective lens – 25mm
Laser Range Finder – 750 yards
WIFi – 802.11g
Display – 800×600 LCD
Image Sensor – 14.6 Mpixel CMOS
TTX Range – 500 yards
Operating Temperature Range – -20C to 50C
Barrel Reference System Laser – 650 nm
Microphone Sensitivity – Whisper
Battery Type – Li Ion
The rifles will be offered in 7.62, .300 BLK, and 5.56 calibers. They are currently taking pre-orders. Delivery starts October 2014.
Adams Industries has developed an NV Hero 3 Kit for the GoPro. They had to modify the Hero slightly by replacing the objective lens in order to line up with the NVG. They also make an adapter to mount them to one another, allowing the NVG to be removed via a standard PVS-14 eye piece. The GoPro Hero can be used stand alone as well.
You may recall the Laser battery Cap from Elite Defense. EOTech has picked it up and it launching it at SHOT Show as a product in their line.
EOTech’s Holographic Weapon Sight technology will now be available commercially with lasers. EOTech has designed a new drop-in replacement Laser Battery Cap (LBC) that can be used on all 512/552 Holographic Weapon Sights.
The EOTech LBC combines the lightning fast target acquisition of the Holographic Weapon Sight with the versatility of integrated aiming lasers to create an optic capable of excelling in any environment. These battery caps offer a low power red visible and IR laser making them ideal for home defense, CQB and force-on-force training.
The LBC’s operate through the use of an easy on/off toggle switch and come with an accessory port for a remote pressure switch (sold separately). They run on easy to find Lithium AA batteries for between 36 and 60 hours depending on laser type and usage. They are also waterproof to 10ft for up to one hour.
John Bailey Director of Product Development stated, “The 512 and 552 Holographic Weapon Sights have been some of our most successful products. This new Laser Battery Cap (LBC) doubles the aiming capability of the HWS without incurring the added cost of an entirely new sight.”
The new EOTech LBC’s are available in 4 configurations:
• LBC: laser battery cap accessory, Visible Red Laser, compatible with all 512/552 models. MSRP: $285.00
• LBC2: laser battery cap accessory, Visible & IR Laser, compatible with all 512/552 models. MSRP: $429.00
• 512.LBC: 512 Holographic Sight with the LBC. MSRP: $729.00
• 552.LBC: 552 NV compatible Holographic Sight with the LBC2. MSRP: $979.00
