As part the ongoing commitment to help the next generation of CMP/NRA High Power competitors achieve their match goals, Hi-Lux has created a discount program for junior high powers teams on the scope specifically designed for CMPand NRA High Power “Across the Course” Competition. In addition, Hi-Lux will make a contribution to the junior’s team for every XTC14X34 Competition Rifle Scope purchased.

Randy Jackovich, the Arizona Scorpions Junior High Power Rifle Team coach, welcomed the program. His team has as found great success with the Hi-Lux XTC scope.“With Hi-Lux, several of our shooters achieved personal high scores, including our team captain who took home the President’s 100 Pin, the William Deneke Memorial Trophy award, Silver in the Freedom’s Fire, the Golden Eagle Trophy award, and the Mountain Man Trophy award.

Kade Jackovich used one to win Four Trophy’s this year at CMP. He has about 3,500 Rounds with it. It’s a great scope at a great value. You can buy three Hi-Lux scopes for the price of one NF.” The Hi-Lux XTC 1-4 X 34 rifle scope is specifically designed for CMP and NRA High Power “Across the Course” Competition. Featuring a 34mm objective lens for optimal light gathering, the XTC 1-4 X 34 has front objective parallax adjustment from 15 yards to infinity. Since stages for Across the Course matchesare set at fixed distances of 200, 300 and 600 yards, an adjustable parallax is critical in minimizing the parallax error.

Additionally, fine ¼ MOA click elevation and windage turrets allow for precise adjustment. The XTC 1-4 X 34 is the next generation of the Hi-Lux Close-to-
Medium Range (CMR) tactical scope and is loaded with advanced design features that truly put it in a class all of its own.

ADS Offering L3 Night Vision Device Sustainment Upgrade

Friday, November 2nd, 2018

I recently met with ADS Inc to discuss their new Night Vision Device Sustainment Upgrade Program with L3.

When the Army begins to field the new Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular (ENVG-B) to its Close Combat Forces, PVS-14s previously used by those forces will be redistributed within the Army.

That being said, there are hundreds of thousands of AN/PVS-14 night vision monoculars in service across all of the US services, our allies and with law enforcement agencies. Some have been in use for well over a decade. Most feature Green Phosphor tubes and are in need of an upgrade.

That’s what the Night Vision Device Sustainment Upgrade Program is about. ADS Inc teamed with L3 to offer upgraded tubes (un-filmed 2376 FOM White Phosphor). These White Phosphor tubes offer improved target identification and image clarity as well as decreased eye strain. They also work quite well with clip-on thermal enhancements like the Enhanced Clip-On SWIR Imager from Optics 1.

Tube replacement is relatively easy, meaning units can purchase the White Phosphor tubes and do the work themselves.

Alternatively, customers can send in the NVG and L3 will inspect the device and replace the tube. Many of these PVS-14s also need repairs or are missing parts. The program can make that happen as well.

October 24, 2018, Meprolight (1990) Ltd. – a member of the SK Group and a leading manufacturer of electro-optical systems, thermal and night vision equipment, self-illuminated sights, and Laser Range Finder systems for military, law enforcement and civil applications – was awarded a contract to supply a follow-on order of its field-proven MEPRO M5 sightsand MEPRO MINIMON (L) multifunctional night vision monoculars to a Western European Federal Police Force Special Unit.

The advanced and unique capabilities of these high quality sights – much appreciated by satisfied customers – make them ideally suited to the needs of these special police units. Among their features are a ruggedized design that withstands extreme weather and conditions, their light weight, low power consumption enabling extended operation time while requiring only a single AA commercial battery and featuring a unique power-saving system extending operating time without compromising target acquisition.

According to Mr. David Shenhav, Regional VP Marketing and Sales, “Meprolight provides versatile solutions suited to military, HLS and law enforcement missions. This new contract is an add-on to tenders previously awarded to Meprolight for the supply of the same products to the same customer. As with all follow-on orders, it is further confirmation of the suitability of the company’s solutions to the customer’s needs and additional proof of their high quality.”

The compact, energy efficient MEPRO M5 Red-Dot Sight provides thousands of operating hours with a single AA battery. Featuring battle-proven LED technology and rugged MIL-STD design, the sight assures reliability under the harshest environmental conditions. With its large display window and reticle, it ensures rapid target acquisition with both eyes open. Offering numerous reticle brightness intensities and various reticle configurations, the MEPRO M5 suits every tactical scenario. To facilitate night operations and long-range target engagement, the MEPRO M5 is compatible with the most advanced Image Intensification Tubes NVG monoculars as well as with magnifying scopes. Its human engineering allows positioning of NVGs and magnifiers close to the sight’s optics with no decrease in the field of view and without compromising convenient switch operation.

The MEPRO MINIMON (L) can be used in monocular or binocular configuration having two MEPRO MINIMONs connected via a special bridge. It enables full tactical flexibility using either one or both eyes during missions including observation, target acquisition, and driving a vehicle; multi-function and extremely lightweight it can be head- and helmet-mounted, weapon-mounted, or hand-held. The monocular operates more than 40 continuous hours utilizing either a single AA or a CR123 battery, enables exceptional night vision imagery while allowing the user to maintain full situational awareness with the unaided eye or 3-D view in binocular configuration. , It is MIL-STD 810 and has a 40° field of view. USSOCOM Selects SIG SAUER To Provide Squad-Variable Powered Scopes (Second Focal Plane)

Thursday, October 11th, 2018

Late last year, Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane, working as the weapons procurement arm of the United States Special Operations Command, released a solicitation to industry for Squad-Variable Power Scopes to be used on M4 carbines out to 600m.

The plan was to buy First Focal Plane Scopes and other associated items as a 100% set-aside for small business, while a Second Focal Plane Scope and other associated gear would be full and open competition. SIG Optics replied to the Second Focal Plane Scope portion of the solicitation.

Today, they announced the Second Focal Plane contract, awarding a little over $12 Million to SIG SAUER for the same optic selected by the US Army for the Squad Designated Marksman Rifle.

We first wrote about the Tango 6 earlier this year, during Enforce Tac.

This 6x optic is a variant of their commercially available Tango 6 optic, with final assembly in their Oregon plant. You can lock out the red dot on the custom BDC reticle between settings and the optic comes equipped with a throw lever. It also includes a SIG mount, manufactured there as well.
