SAR USA by Sarsilmaz Introduces the New SAR9 Compact Pistol

Wednesday, October 6th, 2021

Auburn, AL- October 04, 2020 – SAR USA by Sarsilmaz, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of firearms, is pleased to announce the new SAR9 Compact pistol. Built on the same platform as the legendary SAR9, it is possibly the most rigorously tested pistol ever developed and is proudly carried by NATO and elite forces around the world.

“The SAR9 Compact was inspired by feedback that we received from elite shooting professionals, dealers and consumers,” said Todd Pearson, COO SAR USA. “We listened to the shooting sports community when they asked for the same incredible durability and performance of the SAR9 in a more compact version.”

Chambered in 9mm, the SAR9 Compact is the perfect balance between a micro and full-size pistol. It’s small and light enough to be easily concealed and comfortably carried, yet has the capacity of a full-size pistol. Other features of the SAR9 Compact include a hammer-forged barrel with recessed crown for increased accuracy, interchangeable backstrap and side plates, black oxide slide, and comes standard with 15 round magazines with a 10-round option for capacity restricted states. The lightweight polymer framed, striker-fired, SAR9 Compact points naturally, and is a pleasure to carry. With a choice of three insertable back straps to customize fit, a low barrel axis to grip ratio to lessen muzzle climb and a 20-degree grip angle providing superior control and fast second shot recovery… the accuracy is built in. Couple these features with a safety trigger that is smoother than a double action revolver and the SAR9 Compact becomes the perfect carry-pistol when you want a round in the chamber.  All SAR pistols have a live round indicator.

The US Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory has recently purchased the SMASH 2000 Fire Control System for counter UAS purposes

AUSA 2021, Stand 4418

[October 2021]: SMART SHOOTER, a world-class designer, developer, and manufacturer of innovative fire control systems that significantly increase the accuracy and lethality of small arms, will present its SMASH family of solutions at the AUSA Exhibition in Washington DC, USA. Towards the exhibition, the company announces that the United States Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory, through its Rapid Capabilities Office (MCRCO), has recently purchased several SMASH 2000 systems for Test & Evaluation.  The systems will be delivered this Fall.

The company has also signed a cooperative research & development agreement with US Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane). Under this agreement, the US Navy will evaluate the use of SMASH technology on ships and vessels for Counter-UAS purposes. This collaboration aims to perform joint integration and evaluation of Smart Shooter’s technology with weapons and ammunition currently supporting the US Navy’s mission. With an increased hit probability for small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) and increased engagement range, Smart Shooter’s SMASH technology has demonstrated the potential to increase the Navy’s ability to engage sUAS at the individual level – using existing weapons and ammunition in inventory.

Michal Mor, SMART SHOOTER CEO: We are honored to announce that the US Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory and NSWC Crane have chosen our technology to better protect against the ever-growing drone threat at land and sea. Smart Shooter will present the SMASH 2000 as well as the SMASH Hopper Remote-Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS) and other members of the SMASH family of FCS at the AUSA exhibition, stand 4418.

A New Era in Combatant Craft Has Arrived

Monday, October 4th, 2021

(Washington, D.C.) – The Whiskey Project, an Australian Veteran-owned company known for defense watercraft innovation, is proud to globally reveal a new era in combatant watercraft – the WHISKEY Multi Mission Reconnaissance Craft (WHISKEY MMRC).

WHISKEY MMRC redefines combatant craft, integrating a high-performance hull, a fully modular design for multiple mission configurations, and a technology suite of game-changing, advanced systems and sensors. The purpose-built features provide unprecedented end-user safety, multi- mission adaptability, interoperability, mobility, survivability, and lethality across contemporary maritime environments such as the Indo-Pacific region. “Every detail of the WHISKEY MMRC was purpose built and designed for end-user safety and mission success,” said Darren Schuback, Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Whiskey Project, an Australian high-performance watercraft company. “We are providing end-users with an advanced hull technology that significantly enhances human performance, safety, and the ability to integrate modular features and host advanced systems and sensors, so the warfighter can control the advantage in the operational maritime environment.”

Designed by warfighters for warfighters, WHISKEY MMRC is doctrinally developed to provide maneuver from the sea to support reconnaissance and counter reconnaissance, surveillance, collections, target acquisition, interdiction and battlespace shaping operations. The foundation of the WHISKEY MMRC – its high-performance hull – underpins the watercraft’s ability to undertake these diverse mission sets while reducing slam loading to personnel by up to 40%. The reduction in slam load increases safety and stability during intense maneuvering, while enhancing fuel efficiency, payload, and workable deck space with a significantly increased size to effect ratio.

Coupled with WHISKEY MMRC performance is the WHISKEY HORIZON STRIKETM technology suite, a game-changing low signature Sense First, See First, Strike First solution that combines advanced maritime systems, sensors and effectors with proven in-service tactical networks and situational awareness tools. Developed by Aries Defense in partnership with The Whiskey Project, WHISKEY HORIZON STRIKE is fundamentally integrated into the WHISKEY MMRC design, facilitating enhanced operational awareness, command and control, and coordination of multi-domain effects to provide Commanders with decision dominance.

“The doctrine drove the design”, said Darren Schuback, “and the Whiskey Multi Mission Recon Craft will transform how combatant craft and crew operate, providing an unparalleled level of joint capability, operational agility, affordability and availability.”

“I’ve been in the fight, and this is the combatant craft that we’ve needed,” said Josh Iversen, a U.S. Marine combat veteran, and Business Development Manager at The Whiskey Project. “Our end- users deserve to turn up at the fight fit and ready, not suffering from watercraft-related fatigue and injuries. They need a combatant craft that gives them an immediate advantage, greater survivability, and lethality. WHISKEY MMRC is the only watercraft in the world that is purpose built to meet the operational maritime challenges we face today,” continued Iversen.

Named after the military call sign ‘Whiskey’ for Australian Special Forces water operators, The Whiskey Project is a veteran-owned company whose founders – former Australian Navy Special Operations Clearance Divers – set out to create “the watercraft we wish we’d had.” The Whiskey Project is a subsidiary of The Whiskey Project Group, a trusted supplier to the Australian Defence Force. “We know from experience how critical it is for the operation and the end-user to have the capabilities they need when they need them,” said Schuback. “The Whiskey Project watercraft are designed and built specifically for Warfighter and mission needs.”

ANOKA, Minnesota – September 28, 2021 – Team Federal had an impressive finish at the 2021 Microtech Pro-Am 3-Gun Championship held at the Clinton House Plantation in Clinton, South Carolina, September 24-26. Team Federal finished second place as a Pro-Am team, with team member Tucker Schmidt finishing 2nd overall out of 186 shooters. Federal Ammunition was a Premier Level sponsor of the event.

This Pro-Am style match is intended to introduce new shooters to the world of 3-Gun competitions. Each amateur is paired with an experienced pro shooter and the pro is encouraged to assist the amateur while shooting.

“Donnie Flowe and the crew at Clinton House Plantation put an amazing event together. The stages were well designed and challenged both pro and amateur shooters to execute their game plan and their fundamentals,” said Federal Shooting Sports Promotions Manager Jason Spradling. “It was really good to see so many amateur shooters express a serious interest in getting involved in 3-Gun competitions.”
