I spent last week putting several thousand rounds through the latest suppressor from SureFire, the SOCOMRC3. I can attest, like the title of this video claims, it offers low back pressure without compromise. I never got even a whiff of exhaust from back pressure. This video is a great introduction to the next generation of SureFire suppressors.
Robotics and in particular developing weapons for unmanned systems has become a focus of DoD. This poster was presented during NDIA’s recent Future Forces Capabilities Conference in Huntsville.

Thunder Beast Arms has published the results of the recent Suppressor Summit which tested 185 firearm and suppressor combinations. The event was conducted August 8, 9, & 10th, 2023 at TBAC’s indoor test facility in Cheyenne, WY.
The purpose of the event was:
(1) to test as many silencers as possible in one place at one time with the exact same setup;
(2) to share sound-testing best practices and train additional people on the PULSE;
(3) to compile a large dataset that included a proposed 2m @ 225-degree mic position (in addition to standard milspec-left and “shooter’s ear”), to help analyze the applicability of that mic position for future testing
The event was primarily organized by AAC. TBAC was the host, scientific equipment operator, did the post-analysis, and wrote this report. Representatives from the following companies were present: AAC, AB, Abel, Aero Precision, Allen Engineering, Daniel Defense, Dead Air, Energetic Armament, Griffin Armament, JK Armament, Radical Defense, Resilient, Siege, TBAC, YHM, Allen Arms, Silencer Shop, and Hansohn Brothers. RD has just launched their new General Purpose Suppressor which is designed for use with both rifles as well as belt-fed guns in 7.62mm to 8.6mm. It integrates their forward venting, Breathable Technology to negate the effects of back pressure.
Made from Haynes 282, this 3D printed suppressor weighs 23.5 ounces and is 7.5″ long. It attaches to the weapon via their taper lock, RD KFM-MG QD Flash Hider.
To help mitigate the thermal signature produced by the suppressor, they’ve also used a proprietary I/R non-reflective coating.
Attendees at next week’s NDIA Future Forces Capabilities range day in Huntsville will get to try the General Purpose Suppressor out.

Reliability, especially when paired with the FN 502 Tactical, was a key performance metric in the development of the suppressor given the wide variability that is common with .22 ammunition. The Catch 22 Ti was subjected to an extremely rigorous endurance testing paired with the FN 502 Tactical and other .22-caliber firearms along with a variety of common rimfire ammunition loads to ensure functional reliability and platform adaptability would rise above the current products in market.

Considering the effects of environmental elements and ammunition velocity, the pairing of the FN 502 Tactical with the Catch 22 Ti produces a significantly reduced sound signature that dramatically improves the shooting experience and is especially notable when paired with supersonic ammunition. The usual crack that is heard during unsuppressed fire is all but eliminated and the loudest sound that can be heard is the impact on steel.
