Lancer Systems Doubles Down On Soldier Safety

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

Lancer’s new L5AWM® Safety Magazine provides multiple life-saving features for non-lethal training.

Quakertown, PA – The job of a military service member or law enforcement officer is difficult enough without having to worry about being injured during a routine training exercise. That concern, however, is well-founded based upon the frequency and severity of incidents that occur during simulated combat training. The majority of these injuries – and even deaths – are the result of live ammunition being accidentally introduced into the training environment.

Until recently, training exercises involving blank ammunition or non-lethal marking ammunition still required the use of standard rifle magazines. These magazines can be easily mixed up with magazines containing live ammunition; the results of which can, and do, prove deadly.

Lancer Systems takes soldier safety very seriously and is proud to announce the official launch of their L5AWM® Safety Magazine. These new Safety Magazines are specifically designed with a number of safety features not currently available in any other training magazine, including an updated internal geometry that inhibits even a single round of standard live ammunition from being loading into a rifle. Additionally, the translucent magazine body provides instant visual confirmation of ammunition type and round count, allowing instructors and trainees alike to have complete confidence during training exercises.

Lancer’s L5AWM Safety Magazines are compatible with most M4-pattern weapon platforms chambered in 5.56mm NATO and have been extensively tested and proven to be reliable with non-lethal cartridges from Simunition®, Force on ForceTM, and standard 5.56mm blanks.

For more information and purchasing details, please contact Chuck Vlasek at cvlasek@lancer-systems.com.

Lancer System’s new L5AWM® Safety Magazines inhibit the loading of even a single round of live-fire ammunition and have a translucent body for visual identification of ammunition type and round count.

Christensen Arms Introduces Bolt-Action Rifle Chassis

Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

GUNNISON, Utah – (August 26, 2019) New for fall, Christensen Arms has announced the Modern Precision Rifle Chassis. It is the company’s first bolt-action rifle chassis. The Christensen Arms Modern Precision Rifle Chassis is the same ultra-lightweight adjustable system found on the Modern Precision Rifle offered as an individual component. Built in the USA with aerospace grade aluminum and carbon fiber elements—the chassis delivers effortless form and function—all while weighing less than 3 and a half pounds.

“Ever since we launched the Modern Precision Rifle, an independent chassis has been one of the most common requests we receive,” said Jason Christensen, President of Christensen Arms. “We’re pleased to expand the platform.”

The system is shipped assembled and includes a custom free-floating carbon fiber handguard with M-Lok™. The platform also features an adjustable carbon fiber comb and length of pull. The folding buttstock reduces the length of the chassis by 9 inches, allowing for more convenient storage and transportation. The MAGNELOCK™ technology is designed for ease of use, with a smooth release button and a powerful magnet instead of a cumbersome clasp. The chassis also features a standard AR-style grip.

The Modern Precision Rifle Chassis is offered in both Black and Desert Brown anodized finishes for a retail price of $1,095. Options include a short-action model with a 14 or 17 inch handguard and a long-action model with a 17 inch handguard. The new product is currently available for purchase on the Christensen Arms webstore.

Visit the Christensen Arms website or watch the release video for more information.

New Force on Force Training Magazine

Tuesday, August 27th, 2019

A U.S. Marine died late 2006 from a gunshot wound during an urban combat training accident. The Marine responsible was an experienced, well-trained Sergeant. The next day all of Camp Pendleton was briefed about the incident. This brief however, did not solve the design flaw that allowed live ammunition to become commingled with blank ammunition.

The Army and Marines have lost approximately 10 Service Members from negligent discharges since 2002, one just recently at Fort Polk last October, and hundreds more have been injured. This begged the question, “Why is there not a separate magazine for non-lethal ammunition for when Soldiers train?” That is where the Safe Tactical Magazine idea was born and is what drives SafeTacMag, LLC today.

SafeTacMag, LLC has now developed an innovative, yet simple, M16/M4 5.56 Blue Force on Force Training Magazine designed specifically to protect lives, prevent injuries, and save the government hundreds of millions of dollars by preventing accidental discharges of live ammunition during military and police force on force training exercises. Unlike conventional magazines, which accept both live and force on force ammunition interchangeably, SafeTacMag’s unique and patented training magazine is specifically designed for non-lethal rounds, thereby preventing accidental and negligent discharges of live ammunition.
