Interesting Use of the Princeton Tec Switch Rail Light

Monday, February 2nd, 2015

Former SEAL Mark Owen recently posted this photo of a Princeton Tec Switch Rail weapon light mounted to a pistol. The original concept by Sentinel Design and Austere Provisions Company was to provide low level light on a rifle rail. Sort of a navigation light.

Owen is using it on his pistol, which certainly offers a low volume light and might be just what you are looking for, depending on your application.

What’s This? New Weapon Lighting System

Friday, January 30th, 2015

(null)

Just last week, I was at SHOT Show and speaking with a friend about the need for conformal weapon lights for rifles. Looks like someone has taken some action in this realm.

According to what little data is available this patent pending 3oz system offers up about 500 lumens and is LED based with an array of lamps configured concentrically around the endcap attached to the rail.

So far, all we’ve got to go on is this video, a couple of photos and a Facebook page: www.facebook.com/pages/New-Weapon-Lighting-System. Hopefully, we’ll see more soon.

SHOT Show – SAI Jailbreak

Thursday, January 29th, 2015

SHOT Show is big! It’s so big that even though we continue to post content almost a week after it ended, we didn’t see anywhere near everything we wanted to. One of the things we missed was the Jailbreak from Salient Arms International.

(null)

The Jailbreak is definitely unique. It’s not a muzzle device. It screws on directly to SAI’s rail and can be used with or without a muzzle device. In fact, it can be used in conjunction with virtually any muzzle device.

(null)

Yes, that’s a SureFire can sitting just below the Jailbreak which is designed to slow gasses down, reducing felt recoil.

Fighter Design USA – Texas Mag Bags

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

I ran into Fighter Design USA’s head man Adam Slank while walking the SHOT Show floor. Every time I see him, he’s got some cool new product. I noticed he was carrying a nylon bag over his shoulder. Not unusual for SHOT Show, but he sat this one in the ground and said, “Got a minute? I’ve got something to show you.”

(null)

He pulled back on the handles and the flap came open and I muttered something like, “oh, wow! That’s a lot of magazines.” Adam didn’t miss a beat, replying, “Of course there are, it’s a Texas Mag Bag.”

(null)

Offered in both 12 pack and 6 pack (seen below) configurations, the Texas Mag Bags from Fighter Design USA give you quick access to your magazines. A single flap secures with Fighter Design USA’s signature magnets along with dual zippers on a single pull. You simply give it a pull and voila; magazines…lots of loaded, high capacity magazines each nestled into its own slot.

Texas Mag Bags come fully kitted out with the appropriate number of SureFire 60 rd magazines.
