Crosman – Benjamin Armada PCP Air Rifle

Thursday, October 23rd, 2014

rifle-1

The Benjamin Armada is a .22 caliber pre-charged pneumatic rifle which features a Magpul M-LOK modular accessory system forend. According to the manufacturer, the Armada is the first commercially available PCP rifle that “allows shooters the same breadth of modularity and user configurability as enjoyed by the AR community.” It achieves this through the aforementioned M-LOK forend, as well as designing the rifle to Mil-Spec dimensions for the grip and stock interfaces.

The Armada is capable of delivering velocities of up to 1000 FPS with 32 foot pounds of energy. Included is a 10-shot magazine. The rifle features full suppression, and is capable of 30 shots per fill. The receiver has a machined Picatinny rail, and the bolt is reversible for left-handed shooters. Also included is an on-board gauge and two-stage trigger.

Unfortunately, the images aren’t showing the production model. Rather, it’s a special one-of-a-kind model that’s currently up for auction on Gunbroker through November 2nd, with the proceeds going to benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation. The package contains:

– Magpul M-LOK Modular Locking System
– Magpul PRS (Precision Rifle / Sniper) adjustable stock
– Magpul MBUS Pro Sight front and rear
– Magpul MIAD GEN 1.1 Grip Type 1
– Magpul M-LOK Cantilever Rail / Light mount
– Surefire Scout weapon light
– Tarjac Multi-Cam finish
– Zeiss TERRA 3x 4-12×50 mm scope
– Telescoping bipod
– 3 removable/configurable, M-LOK compatible handguards
– Custom embroidered Benjamin rifle case

The Armada is built in America.

Although based on the commercially available P320 modular pistol, SIG made a few changes to be in compliance with the Army’s requirement.

-Tan Color
-Ambi Thumb Safety
-Lower Profile Ambi Slide Release
-Loaded Chamber Indicator
-Trigger Boot
-Firing Pin Assembly

Although SIG is very optimistic about their chances, they also look at programs like this as an opportunity to improve their firearms. Some of these changes may we find their way into the P320 and other SIG firearms.

SilencerCo Launches Aftermarket Threaded Pistol Barrels

Monday, October 20th, 2014

Today, SilencerCo announced a line of pre-threaded aftermarket pistol barrels for most common Glock models, and the Sig P226. The full release can be read below:

Threaded-Barrel-e1413788286884

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – October 20, 2014 | Silencer industry leader SilencerCo launched a line of threaded aftermarket pistol barrels today.

This step towards diversification is the first of several planned accessories expansions from the Utah-based company, who has garnered a loyal customer base by offering innovative products and best-in-the-business customer service. While rifle barrels can easily be threaded to accept a suppressor, most pistols require the purchase of a threaded aftermarket barrel to take advantage of the benefits a silencer can offer.

“The only thing better than a normal pistol barrel is a threaded pistol barrel,” stated SilencerCo CEO Joshua Waldron. “All pistol silencers require one. We noticed a market need for high quality pistol barrels and we stepped in to offer them.”

SilencerCo will begin sales with most common Glock models this year, adding select Sig Sauer, Springfield XD and Smith & Wesson M&P models in the first quarter of 2015. Barrels for Glock 17 and 21 can be purchased now on the company’s website and will ship in late October.
