July 11th, 2016

This is the upcoming 28L S.uspension H.aul A.ccess D.urable O.rganize (S.H.A.D.O.) Pack from Prometheus Design Werx. It features two full clamshell opening compartments, one of which is dedicated to your EDC items. I love the name which reminds me of the name of the organization tasked with defending the earth from alien invaders in the early 70s science fiction TV series, UFO.

The Demise Of Alias Training & Security Services

July 11th, 2016

Late Sunday night, several well known tactical trainers announced they were cutting ties with Alias Training & Security Services.  Mike Pannone posted an announcement on Facebook which included other Alias instructors Pat McNamara, Jeff Gonzales and Craig Douglas, stating all were moving on.  Additionally, Larry Vickers announced a move to the newly formed Aztec Training Services.

While full details are still unclear, the moves appear to be financially motivated. Jeff Gonzales sent out a newsletter under under his company Trident Concepts which spelled some of the issues out.

Mike Pannone added some details:

Alias confimed that they were closing their doors in this statement:

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that as of Monday July 11, 2016 Alias Training & Security Services, LLC will be closing its doors. An ongoing dispute with our merchant services financial company has made things untenable. Our apologies to all affected students, instructors, etc. To all students of upcoming classes please expect an email early this week to explain the situation in more detail.

Again our most sincere apologies,

Alias Staff

Current Alias students should look for an email and watch the Alias Facebook pagefor updates. However, Larry Vickers has stated that he will honor any downpayments to Alias for his classes. Contact LAV for details.

So far I’ve seen these Black, Brown, Light Grey (Tan), Green and MultiCam with Yellow, Red or Luminescent markings (except MultiCam). They are also offered in 30 rd 7.62×39.

Match-ups and Bout Order Made Official for GLORY 32 Virginia and GLORY 32 SuperFight Series on Friday, July 22

July 10th, 2016

GLORY 32 Virginia is being held here in Norfolk. Kickboxing is huge internationally, but it hasn’t seemed to catch in here in the US. To me, what’s really cool about this event is that there will be military bouts so come on out if you’re local and tune in if you’re not and check it out. It may be a sport you enjoy watching.

GLORY 32 Virginia: Live on ESPN3 at 10 p.m. ET, Replay on ESPN2 at 11 p.m. ET
GLORY 32 SuperFight Series: Live on UFC Fight Pass at 7:30 p.m. ET

GoFundMe – JSOC Memorial

July 10th, 2016

Paying tribute to 174 American Heroes and the six units that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation.

The memorial also pays tribute to the eight men that were killed on the daring hostage rescue mission in Iran in 1980. These men had the “Guts to Try” and this mission was the genesis of JSOC.

Artifacts incorporated into the JSOC memorial
1)Sand/Pebble from the DESERT ONE crashsite. Encapsulated and placed in the foundation wall of the memorial. Donated by pilots from Operation Eagle Claw.
2)WTC Steel. The swords on the JSOC Emblem are forged from WTC Steel, donated by FDNY. These swords are forged by an alumni of the command.
3)Pentagon Limestone from the remains of the Pentagon attack on 9/11. This stone forms the foundation on which the JSOC emblem rests.
4)Soil/Rock from United Flight 93 crash site. This soil fills the Pentagon cavity that the JSOC emblem rests on. Always reminding us of the patriotism and heroism of Americans….. “Let’s Roll”

100% of funds raised will go to this memorial. Donations are Tax-Deductible, Tax ID is: 26-0801248

Planned dedication is October 22 – the anniverary of JSOC.

This memorial will be the ONLY memorial that pulls together the collective sacrifice of the units that make up JSOC.

It will serve as a constant reminder to the men and women that serve in JSOC, as well as to those who visit the organization.
