US4CES Bravo and Charlie Variants Released For Sale

December 16th, 2013

ADS Inc. and US4CES designer Guy Cramer, have decided to use Hyperstealth’s print on demand process developed by Cramer, President/CEO of Hyperstealth to release 45 new US4CES patterns in two new series: 15 US4CES Bravo Series patterns and 30 US4CES Charlie Series patterns to the commercial market and for printed camouflage trial material to foreign countries outside of the U.S. looking for a new advanced camouflage uniform.

The Alpha variants of US4CES are finalists in the still unresolved US Army Camouflage Improvement Effort and are not yet available for sale. However, with any of these patterns, you get the same technology improvements offered to the Army but in different colorways. Another difference between Alpha and Bravo, is in the color layering, reversing the order of lightest to darkest colors (the patterns are identical other than the color order). Additionally, none of these are NIR compliant.

The Delta variants were also developed for the US Army and in internal testing Cramer found that they performed better. The Charlie variants have been released for sale commercially. The difference between US4CES Delta and Charlie is in the color layering, reversing the order of lightest to darkest colors.

SOMA – Global Protection Medical Group

December 16th, 2013

The Mechanical Blood Volumizer is a militarized version of the Extremity Exsanguination Device from Global Protection Medical Group.

20131214-103155.jpg

Some of you may remember the old MAST Trousers. They had several issues including bulk, complexity, and vulnerability to ambient pressure shifts. The MBV has none of those issues.

Taking less than 30 seconds you can remove 90% of the blood from the lower extremities. Generally, this is accomplished prior to knee or leg surgery. But, they’ve found that it can also be used during shock and cardiac incidents to help improve blood pressure to the core. Additional benefits include that it’s your own blood and the effect is instantaneous.

It is disposable and they have developed versions for the arms. Packaging has been improved over this early version that you see here.

SOMA – MATBOCK

December 16th, 2013

MATBOCK has introduced the new R-LIFT Rigid Litter System. Weighing in at just 6.5 lbs, it shares the same collapsible carbon fiber poles as the S-LIFT and is designed for vertical extraction.

20131214-141510.jpg

Built to carry up to 400 lbs, it incorporates an inflatable head stabilization bladder as well as webbing patient restraints. The R-LIFT’s body is made from neoprene impregnated nylon that has been dye cut for maritime use as well as weight savings. This component has been reinforced with 6 hinged, composite bars. Additionally, the foot of the litter integrates a rapidly deplorable space blanket to keep patients warm.

All of this collapses down to fit into this spiffy pack. Since it’s only the size of a laptop, it can obviously be carried in other packs as well.

SOMA – Zanfel Labs

December 16th, 2013

We first mentioned Zanfel Poison Ivy Wash from Zanfel Labs during Modern Day Marine 2011 when we found out that it is designed to allow an affected person to literally wash away urushiol oil which is the toxin contained in certain plants. It irritates 85% of the population. The Zanfel wash can be used at anytime after contact and on any part of the body including the face and genitals. This stuff really works. We’ve used a couple of times over the past few years and it offers relief within hours.

Zanfel Labs is offering this graphic to help instruct people how to identify the plants that secrete urushoil thereby preventing irritations before they happen. We asked if we could share it and they agreed. Also, don’t forget, poison ivy oils can stay viable for up to 5 years. Clothing, gear and footwear, in particular laces retain these oils. According to Zanfel Lans, the best cure for this issue is to wash these items with simple dishwashing liquid.

Zanfel’s Skin Wash Poison Ivy Treatment 10 oz Tube has NSN 6501-01-611-2071.

Another resource includes a map. Hard copies of the poster above can be requested by contacting dboelman@zanfel.com, or 1-800-401-4002, menu option 1.

Cabela’s ColorPhase Technology

December 16th, 2013

20131215-210504.jpg

Cabela’s has introduced the new ColorPhase technology to select styles of their Zonz camouflage hunting clothing. ColorPhase modifies the Zonz pattern with 4 colors that change along with the temperature. They become more green the warmer it is and more brown the cooler it is. The concept isn’t necessarily new. If you ever had one of those Tshirts that changes colors as you work out, you’ve seen the technology in action. What is new is using it with camouflage.

Could this work for the military? I’d say not. For one thing, this is a visual spectrum camouflage. Additionally, I’m not so sure it’s going to work for hunters. The pattern phase changes at 65 deg. Considering that your body is going to warm up as you move through the brush, you will invariably be more green than your surroundings.
