The Agilite ‘Ninja’

January 29th, 2013

20130128-183732.jpg

Developed at the request of Advanced Assault Gear in Tokyo, The Ninja is a micro-framed plate carrier designed for the smaller-framed warrior. The average height of males in Japan is just 172cm (5′ 7″) and as most plate carriers are made in the United States, where people in general and military operators in particular are significantly bigger, standard plate carriers were less suited to this market. The Ninja stepped into this gap, being tighter fitting, especially around the shoulders and back.

Despite its tighter fit, the Ninja is built for a size medium ESAPI plate in order to provide a proportionally high level of ballistic protection.

The Ninja also features a brand new telescopic shoulder-strap system and a removable cummerbund.

The Ninja is available in Japan exclusively from Advanced Assault Gear and is available in MultiCam, Coyote Brown, Black and A-TACS AU.

Geissele Automatics SHOT Show Follow Up

January 29th, 2013

In this week’s Canipe Correspondence, he mentioned four new products from Geissele Automatics. Fortunately, our friend SMG Lee took some great photos of these items.

Geissele SMR MKIV rail. I was an early adopter of the Geissele hand guard for the HK416, and I have a few each of the MKI and MKII rails for the AR series. The MKIV version utilizes a lightened barrel nut and a slimmed down hand guard that is skeletonized to remove all unneeded material, while still maintaining the strength the previous variants are known for. It has fixed rails at the front where you need them, QD cups for sling attachment, and is trimmed down for a low profile and firm grip everywhere else. They also showed a new gas block that will be my new standard, and a Glock optic mount and magazine well under their ALG brand. Look for those soon as well.

First off is the new gas block.

Here you can compare the new Mk IV rail with the Super Rail released last year.

And here it is from the top.

20130128-201730.jpg

SMG Lee had this to say about the new rail –

Few points of interest…
1. the enlarged cooling slots are to reduce weight while not giving up any rigidity
2. the new collar for the lock bolts are design to be foolproof, so if you happen to strip the threads on the locking collar, you can always have it replaced instead of having to replace the entire rail.
3. the light weight barrel nut has been through a patented anodizing process that is only used in high friction automotive components, this process enable Geissele to produce a lighter and more durable end product.
4. Build in sling QD swivel points
5. Relief cuts all around the rail to lighten even more weight.
6. the rail to receiver interface are redesigned to maintain the rigid interface but at the same time reduce more weight.

Overall, this is one of the BEST rail design i have seen in a long time, it is definitely worth your investment for your next carbine build.

Next up is the new 6 Second Mount named, according to SMG Lee, by a…

unit that conduct a lot of hostage rescue work. this was requested for work in long and confined hallway such as a fuselage….6 second to get in and engaged and eliminate threat on demand…..

And here is the new Magwell.

Alias Training Revised Ammo Policy For 2013

January 29th, 2013

We received this late last night that explains Alias Training’s blanket ammo and training policy.

Hello, Alias Training would like to announce a new set of clear and concise ammo policies that are in place until the current ammo situation corrects itself. Both Larry Vickers and Kyle Defoor have released their own statements and this one will mirror theirs exactly. It is intended to merely explain a few points a little farther and speak for Alias as a group.

– A new minimum of 400 rounds has been set for all Alias Training & Security Services associated 2-day classes. This is to be considered an absolute minimum. If this is all the ammo you can find or afford you will be good to go. All efforts will be made to minimalize the effects of shooting fewer rounds in the class. Honestly the class will be the same, you will just have the option of self-regulating your rounds fired per drill. Example; if the drill calls for four rounds, firing two will be OK. This is completely student self-regulating. Please be careful so you don’t over shoot one drill and miss out on another.

– *Very Important* If you have the standard ammo supply available this policy will not affect you at all. You will just be shooting the class normally. The instructors wanted me to be very clear on this.

– We have not had any restrictions on remanufactured ammo for years but to reiterate it is completely fine in our classes.

– .22 weapons are completely fine. Same with .22 conversion kits.

– We are working with several manufacturers & suppliers to ensure ammo availability for our classes. Some instructors have or are working on their own deals. Other suppliers are going to be helping Alias as a whole. If you cannot find ammo for a class contact Paul at Alias Training (Paul@aliastraining.com) and I will point you in the right direction.

I would like to thank the world-class instructors associated with Alias Training & Security Services for looking out for our customers during this situation.

If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free contact me anytime day or night.

Thank you,

Paul Hotaling

ExBellum.com – The Online Network for Post-Military SOF Employment

January 29th, 2013

Currently, SOF personnel have no reliable option for job searching that is tailored to their specific capabilities and requirements. Simultaneously, private industry is experiencing a capability gap between leadership and operational skills present in today’s work force and those skills required for dominance in the current dynamic, complex, and swiftly changing environment. ExBellum’s intent is to fill the current capability gap in private industry with SOF personnel separating from the military services.

ExBellum conducts two lines of effort: ExBellum.com, a unique online employment website that securely connects employers and staffers with an unparalleled network of former SOF personnel and ExBellum Customized Staffing solutions, a personalized service that individually places former SOF personnel in roles based on client requirements.
