Agilite Introduces Custom Design Services

Thursday, October 11th, 2012

Israeli gear manufacturer Agilite has made a rather interesting announcement. They are launching a custom design service. No details yet on what their new “Rapid Design, Fielding and Deployment” process is going to look like but we are certainly interested. It’s an interesting time. Budgets are tight and it would seem that the prudent thing to do would be to streamline to a set number of designs and mass produce using lean manufacturing techniques. But, we are seeing a shift in how we consume. The days of one-size-fits-all is in the rearview mirror and companies in the commercial market are beginning to offer customization options. This is the press release hitting the wire later today.

JERUSALEM, Israel. October 11th 2012 – Agilite has just announced the debut of its new custom design capabilities for military, law enforcement, rescue and firefighting organizations and individuals worldwide.

The firm, which began on the foundation of designing and manufacturing tactical gear for Israeli Special Operations units with its Rapid Design, Fielding and Deployment (RDFD) technique is now offering prototyping, custom design projects and consultation for tactical, duty, rescue and firefighting gear. Whether you need a new type of rescue harness or a customized, more ergonomic plate carrier, Agilite’s enlarged custom facility will be able to cater for its cliets needs.

“There’s just no comparisen between off-the-shelf gear and being able to have gear customized for you and your unit’s exact needs. The secret to the high level of gear in the Israeli military has always been the presence of tactical design studios within all of its elite units that custom design on a daily basis for their operators. We’re taking that capability, expanding it and offering it to non-Israeli clients as well. “ says Eli Freedman, Head of Design for Agilite who, like Agilite’s other designers, spent years designing gear within the IDF after having served as a Paratrooper.

Since Agilite’s expansion into the international marketplace in 2010 requests for new and different types of gear that works with very different equipment, terrain needs have skyrocketed. Agilite now supplies it’s innovative gear across the globe and has a client list that includes the US Army, The US Marines and Border Patrol, UK and other Special Forces, Law enforcement, Search and Rescue and Firefighting organizations worldwide.

“In a changing climate, we see a need for less quantity and more quality gear. It doesn’t get better than to be able to have your unit’s gear tailored with the help of professionals who’ve designed for some of the world’s best for years.” Said Elie Isaacson, Agilite’s Director of Strategic Development. “There are a lot of units and operators out there who have always had ideas about how to improve their gear but haven’t had a way to put them into action-we plan to fill that gap.”

Agilite Adds Search and Rescue Section to Website

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012

Not only has Agilite updated their website, but they’ve added a section dedicated to search and rescue products. It now goes way beyond the Injured Personnel Carrier (IPC) we featured in January. As you recall, it made quite a stir and showed up all over the internet. These new items include gear such as the Sidewinder & ARCH “Instant Harness” Set you see here which works in conjunction with a Riggers Belt to provide sit harness functionality.

These rescue products have been in use with elements of the IDF and incorporate their new TT High-Density Polyester. They claim it outperforms traditional mil-spec tactical nylon webbing across the board. “From tensile strength to resistance to abrasion, UV and chemicals such as petroleum;, or a melting point of over twice as high, our TT polyester webbing performs far better than traditional nylon webbing. “ says Agilite COO Isaac Oppenheim. “We were looking to raise the bar in webbing quality and we found what we were looking for in TT Polyester-we put it to the test in the most extreme circumstances and the results were outstanding.”

Check out the all-new site at www.agilitegear.com and get free shipping within the US during all of July.

Agilite Injured Personnel Carrier

Saturday, January 7th, 2012

The IPC came about when soldiers from one of the IDF’s elite units were connecting four rifle slings together and carrying injured soldiers like a backpack. Agilite turned the concept into a product, added built-in padding and several other features and now it’s a more efficient alternative to the traditional fireman’s and piggyback carry techniques that keeps both hands free. As you can see in the video, it is lightweight and simple to apply. It also allows you to carry the wounded piggyback style, hand free.

Agilite has some other big news. They have just shifted their production to the US to get the best quality manufacturing around as well as be Berry Compliant. They now design in Israel and manufacture in the US which they feel is the absolute best of both worlds.

Agilite and Source Team Up to Produce New Tactical Hydration System

Monday, April 25th, 2011

Israeli firms Agilite and Source Vagabond Systems Ltd makers of Source hydration systems have teamed up to produce a new tactical hydration system. It is compatible with Agilite’s The new Source Diamond is a super-low profile hydration system featuring a contoured design allowing it to sit flatter on the wearer’s back than other systems.

The Agilite-Source joint project involves a new version of the Diamond that is compatible with Agilite’s Modular Assault Suspension System (M.A.S.S.) load bearing system so that the Diamond can be worn independently of the Agilite Modular Assault Pack that is included with every Agilite Vest like the one above.

“With Agilite gear being used more and more by US and other forces in Afghanistan, it is important that we have the perfect integrative hydration system that suits our high-speed, no-bulk style,” said Dror Lefler, Agilite’s Chief Designer; “Our assault pack already works with hydration systems but we wanted an alternative for when the assault pack is detached. Many soldiers prefer our M.A.S.S. (Modular Attachment Suspension System) over M.O.L.L.E or other systems as, using less material and much less webbing, it is much lighter.”

“We are pleased to be working with Agilite on this project, they are known for their innovative high-speed tactical designs and the inclusion of a high-speed system like the Diamond into their load-bearing system is a logical progression.” Said Meni Keinan, Head of military design at Source.
