1a. Minimum order size is 25 if you want to go solo and not hope you can convince 15 or so other forum members to go along.

Two upcoming products are the Prairie Belt and Ute Pack.

According to HPG, the Prairie Belt is a nod to the prairie belts of old worn by the US Cavalry.

Just one look at it and you’ll see that it is a backpack waist belt. But it includes PALS and they also designed it for use as a war belt.

Interestingly, the belt can be rigged as a safety harness and they are considering integrating a sit harness kit. It will be offered in will be available in small, medium, and large sizes in ranger, foliage, and coyote.

The Ute Pack takes its name from “the brothers to the bear” who ranged from the front slope of the Colorado Rockies out into the desert wilderness of the Colorado Plateau in eastern Utah. Like the Ute, the pack is highly adaptable, carrying loads from 20 to over 60 pounds. Consequently, it is highly compressible.

It will come equipped with a Prairie Belt and features an internal frame consisting of a frame sheet and dual aluminum stays.

US Made Mountain Serapes Now Available from HPG

Thursday, August 16th, 2012

Hill People Gear has announced that they are bringing Mountain Serapes back regularly and these latest deliveries are made in USA! The Mountain Serape is a fantastic 3-season multi-purpose garment/sleep system.

Hill People Gear told us how these are different from previous models:
-Made in the US out of US materials (which required the price increase)
-Based on feedback from Joe when he was using one on a helicopter in Afghanistan, we added a hook on the drawcord so you can go into greatcoat mode without using the zipper if you want to
-The material is a little beefier, resulting in a finished weight of 2.5 lbs
-The zipper pull on the main zipper is an “over the top” so it can be manipulated from either inside or outside of the Serape
-Insulated with Primaloft insulation quilted to the inner shell only. This makes the piece a little bit warmer and more weather resistant

They are available in Ranger Green and MultiCam with a Ranger Green liner.
