The Sweater

ITS Tactical and MilSpec Monkey have teamed up a limited edition apparel item, the Modern Action Sweater. Sporting a color very much inspired by NSW’s Maritime Assault Suit System sepia colorway, the Modern Action Sweater is made of 10 oz. heavyweight fleece fabric composed of 50/50 Poly/Cotton for reduced shrinkage, and double knapped for softness.

Additional features include reinforced stitching on key wear points, thumb hold pass-through ports, 5% spandex-infused ribbing, and custom color-matched YYK zippers.

Available in sizes SM-XXL, and 100% made in the USA with US materials.

MilSpec Monkey – Boss Beaver Pack Video

Tuesday, May 26th, 2015

Check out this video of MilSpec Monkey showing off the features of the new Boss Beaver Pack.

The Boss Beaver takes the foundation of the Adapt Pack, increases the size, and adds a self-contained beavertail and additional organization options. The beavertail zone can be compressed flat when not in use, yet expands to accommodate bulky items such as helmets.

In addition to the beavertail, the pack has an approximate storage size of 1500 cubic inches. The beavertail interior has organizer pockets, while the main compartment has two bottle/stash pockets, a simple sleeve, a zipper mesh pocket, a padded laptop sleeve, and integrated cord ports.

The Boss Beaver also features:

– Configurable for 1-strap or 2-strap carry options

– Shoulder and adjustment straps can be tucked into hydration pocket to make the bag a clean grab bag

– Main compartment features tube ports for alt hydration placement, antennas, and other wire routing

– Loop Velcro field in the CCW compartment, additional loop in the Beavertail interior, and a loop panel on the upper exterior for ID or morale patches

– PALS webbing on front and sides for pouch mounting

– Off-spec webbing on bottom for bulky item lashing

Available in the following colors: Black, Marine Coyote, MultiCam, Ranger Green, Urban, and Wolf Grey.

An Update On MilSpec Monkey – A Real Urban Grey

Tuesday, April 21st, 2015

Since we’ve last reported on MilSpec Monkey’s attempt at finding a true Urban Grey, he’s made some notable progress. Testing various greys from various manufacturers, Monkey eventually found a shirt and pant combination that seems to closely mirror what he’s looking for in an urban grey. Monkey’s next goal is to start producing fabric samples in Greys that mirror what he’s researched, as well as possibly involve some interested manufacturers. As before, we’re eager to see where his efforts lead.

MilSpec Monkey SHOT Follow-Up

Wednesday, March 28th, 2012

Anyone that does the media tour of SHOT Show will tell you how overwhelming it can be, and how much information that will stack up. Our friend Milspec Monkey has uploaded some more material from his 2012 SHOT Show sortie. He advises that it was “…even slower than usual, but making sure to get the media on up. Shotshow went overall smooth this year, no crazy rainstorms and better wireless service. Scored a cold as usual from the handshake factory, but thems just part of the experience at this point. Summary words of the show, I’d say: Light-Weight and Zombies. Check out my YouTube channel for the usual pile, made it all the way up to 3 cameras this year…”

He also advised there’s a new gallery up by his “ol’ buddy Pye.”

Here’s one of the videos from his channel, an interview with Kyle Lamb of Viking Tactics.
