SORD USA has stripped away some of the extras from their of their popular standard field uniform to introduce a lightweight version. The MultiCam Jacket and Field Pant are manufactured from 50/50 NYCO Ripstop and the A-TACS AU version is 52/48 NYCO Ripstop. There is also a solid Tan version featuring a lightweight 100% cotton.
To save weight, SORD has cut the number of pockets on the jacket from 9 to 3. It features a 2 chest pocket design with no bicep pockets. Additionally, there is a 3rd pen pocket on the left side of the chest.
In the light variant, the pants have gone from from 10 to 6 which include 2 cargo pockets, plus integrated front hip and rear pockets on each side of the pant. Additionally, the seat is not reinforced. Sizing for the pants range from Small to Extra Large and the jackets fit large for their size.
SORD’s new Combat Shirt is constructed from an FR knit fabric (71% Modacrylic/24% FR Rayon/5% Spandex) that features both a permanent finish to increase wicking performance as well as an anti-microbial treatment helps prevent odor after prolonged field use. The design layout puts seams where they will irritate the least under armor and relies on flat seam construction to take it the rest of the way. It also incorporates a 10†chest zipper with an inside flap with chin guard, Gusseted side panels for a complete range of motion, as well as pleated zippered bicep pockets with ample Velcro for IFF and patches. Finally, they remembered to reinforce the elbows. Looks good guys!

We received this photo today and wanted to pass it along. It does a great job of showing you the SORD Variable Armor Carrier as well as what it looks like in the A-TACS pattern.
SORD’s VAC is a pretty interesting design. Not only can it be used as a plate carrier, but the side wings, which can hold soft armor inserts as well as small hard plates, can be added or subtracted as needed. When you add the wings with armor and plates, you have a full armor carrier. That’s some serious scalability.
