TAG Awarded $5Mil DoD Emall Contract

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

The Defense Logistics Agency has awarded Tactical Assault Gear a DoD Emall contract with a $5 million ceiling. What is unique about this contract is that organizations will be able to purchase TAG’s entire offering of products using MILSTRIP (Military Standard Requisitioning & Issue Procedures) funds. This essentially makes ordering TAG products as easy as using the standard stock system and is a boon for units that tend to only order equipment with MILSTRIP funds. The contract goes into effect 21 September and DoD Emall should be fully updated be the first week of October.

TAG; A New Direction

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Tactical Assault Gear’s genesis was in the retail business selling quality tactical and outdoor products. As market demand shifted, TAG began to develop and manufacture their own line of tactical nylon products but retained their retail store front presence in three markets; Coronado NAB and Camp Pendleton, California as well as Fort Bragg, North Carolina. As the manufacturing business grew, TAG’s CEO Chris Osman began to implement a transition to a purely online business model combined with a host of retailers in key markets. In order to fulfill their commitments to retail space property owners, the closure of each of the three stores coincided with the end of the leasing period. The stores in California have been closed for some time but the full transition was completed recently as TAG fulfilled their four year Lease in Fayetteville. TAG has partnered with local retailers in these markets to offer their products to walk in clients and continues to serve its customer base on the web for all others.

TAG

Designed specifically for the the Mayhem releasable carrier, this new Admin pouch is longer than it is tall in order to accommodate the front flap. In order to maximize available space, it only requires two PALS rows. Other changes were made such as rotating the flashlight pouch 90 degrees and positioning it along the bottom, horizontally. It also holds Chem lights, pens, etc. in the elastic loops. Additionally, there is a zippered compartment to secure items at the top of the pouch located behind an open pocket. The face of the pouch features pile tape to attach patches.
