Thunder Beast Arms Corp Announces 338 Ultra SR

Wednesday, January 9th, 2019

We are pleased to announce the new 338 ULTRA SR suppressor. This is the first suppressor to feature our “SR” mount. The SR mount is our “QD” style mount that maintains the absolute accuracy and repeatability standards we are known for while offering more rapid mounting and removal and featuring a Secondary Retention (“SR”) or “Locking” collar. This mount meets the mil spec represented in the 2017 Advanced Sniper Rifle (ASR) solicitication, and the 338 ULTRA SR is the suppressor that Accuracy International North America chose for their ASR rifle system submission.

The main feature of the SR mount is that it acts as a secondary, fail-safe, locking mechanism to retain the suppressor on the muzzle brake in all circumstances, unless explicitly removed on purpose, by hand. It also reduces the number of turns required to mount the suppressor due to a coarser thread and enables “Quick Mount” and “Quick Detach” functionality of the mount. The mount is mechanically very simply and user-level maintenance is possible.

The SR mount uses a novel paw and cam-path system to ensure that “full lock up” can happen in either of the two adjacent detent slots for any given final shouldering position of the suppressor on the conical brake shoulder. This categorically avoids the “off by one” problem that many “clicky” mounts have. The SR mount has the exact same accuracy, repeatability, and return-to-zero characteristics that all our precision suppressors are known for.

This mounting system is covered by US Patent 9,791,234.

For more details, please visit the 338 ULTRA SR Product Page.

The 338 ULTRA SR will be offered for sale starting the first morning of the 2019 SHOT Show (Jan 22nd). We will not accept orders, pre-orders, or backorders until then. We have a considerable stock of these available but after that initial stock is depleted, additional orders will be subject to our normal production backlog.

CGS Group Incorporates Interchangeable Front Caps On Hyperion 762 and Helios 556 Rifle Silencers

Monday, December 24th, 2018

CGS Group is incorporating interchangeable front caps into Hyperion 762 and Helios 556 rifle silencers for 2019. But these aren’t just normal front caps. Due to the unique construction and signature suppression methods used in the CGS Hyperion Tech, which they claim “has actually neva bin fun befo”, by using different types of front caps the user can change the function of the silencer entirely. Use the flat cap to have the quietest rifle silencer ever produced on a bolt gun where back pressure and gas in the shooters face isn’t a concern. For a semi auto rifle host, if the user feels that the already low back pressure design of the default flat cap config isn’t enough, the user can easily install a perforated front cap which vents excess gas into the atmosphere while still being hearing safe for the shooter.

So to put it simply, function swappable front caps, and effectively two types of silencers in one simple, strong, concentric package. The vented front cap have pictured here acts as a flash hider not only for the bore, but also for the peripheral vents. There are multiple types of front caps which have different features depending on what the user is looking for in a can.

All front caps sit on a taper so they don’t come loose but will maintain concentricity. We’ve had these for quite a while but it was never shown publicly before. Patented and multiple patents pending. CGS Group promises more details to follow after SHOT Show.

Modern Tactical Creations – Suppressor Shield

Thursday, December 20th, 2018

Modern Tactical Creations was founded by two SF NCOs to create solutions to problems found at the operator and team level. In the past we have mentioned their Chemlight Cache and Antenna Keeper. This time, we’re showing you the Suppressor Shield.

The Modtac Suppressor Shield fits over a Suppressor and is designed to minimize mirage, cool the suppressor naturally, and protect the operator.

• The employment of an air gap and carbon fiber reduce the observed surface temperature up to 50%.
• The low thermal conductivity of carbon fiber reduces the “felt” surface temperature to a point that is safer for incidental contact, even at extreme suppressor temperatures.

• Solid top design eliminates mirage along the length of the suppressor.
• Carbon fiber’s low thermal transfer rate reduces mirage causing exposed outer surfaces.

• Spacers create an air gap that does not trap heat like a fabric/silicone suppressor wrap.
• Vent design promotes air flow around the suppressor.

• Mechanical attachment holds tight through heat expansion and heavy recoil.
• Suppressor can be removed without removing the shield first.

Available in six lengths, the Suppressor Shield is offered in Natural (Carbon Fiber), Coyote Tan or OD Green.

SureFire Shipping SOCOM260-TI & SOCOM260-RC2 Suppressors!

Wednesday, November 21st, 2018

Fountain Valley, CA—SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of the world’s finest—and most innovative—illumination tools and tactical products, is proud to announce the launch of two suppressors for 6 mm, 6.5 mm and .260 caliber weapon systems. First, SureFire’s exotic SOCOM260-Ti is extremely lightweight and quiet, best suited for bolt-action rifles where back pressure isn’t an issue. Next, the versatile SureFire SOCOM260-RC2 suppressor meets and exceeds the needs of 6mm,  6.5 Creedmoor and .260 caliber, semiautomatic rifles by utilizing the same technology that earned the SOCOM556-RC suppressor a victory in the harshest, most demanding suppressor trials in US Special Operations Command history.

SureFire’s SOCOM260-Ti is the lightest rifle-mount suppressor in the lineup, but if you want the best in noise attenuation, quality materials and precision craftsmanship, it’s a genuine heavy hitter. Of course, the Ti in the model name stands for titanium, and it should come as no surprise that SureFire employs only high-grade titanium alloy to produce a premium suppressor that weighs a mere 12 ounces while maintaining our strictest durability standards. But it isn’t just exotic materials that make the SOCOM260-Ti. Our engineers painstakingly crafted the SOCOM260-Ti’s  V-shaped baffles to optimize performance for maximum noise attenuation. Precision tolerances, strict attention to bore concentricity and suppressor alignment with our versatile Fast-Attach® mounting system combine to provide the best titanium suppressor available.

When designing the SOCOM260-RC2 suppressor, SureFire refused to use anything but the highest grade high-temperature alloys that are CNC laser-welded and uncompromisingly durable and better suited to the higher-round count abuse of precision gas-guns. Inside, SureFire’s advanced vented baffling reduces back pressure, so as to not affect the reliability of the gas operated weapons platforms this suppressor is intended to be used on. In addition, SureFire’s patented Fast-Attach® system makes attachment/removal of the suppressor quick and easy in any environment. The SOCOM260-RC2 incorporates the latest in manufacturing techniques and materials to produce a class-leading suppressor, delivering the utmost in sound attenuation and a tremendous reduction in flash and dust signature.

Built for consistent performance and a long service life, every SureFire suppressor is proudly made in the USA.
