Gold Cup Series 70 - Copy

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (April 13, 2017) – Colt, the company whose Gold Cup® has long been the pinnacle of performance in the world of competitive shooting, is pleased to announce the next generation Gold Cup® Trophy. Updated to meet the desires of today’s elite shooters, the pistol is a modern take on the stalwart classic performance firearm that has helped so many competitive shooters achieve victory over the past century.

“We started the development of the new Gold Cup® Trophy when I decided to compete in the Bianchi Cup,” said Mark Redl, Team Colt Shooter and Product Manager for Colt. “Everything about this pistol was designed to make it an affordable option for the professional competitor to engage in the most elite shooting match in the world. We started with our standard Gold Cup® Trophy and upgraded it in the same ways that many enthusiasts and professionals do as they ship their beloved firearm around the country for costly specialty services. Now, for the cost of perhaps one or two of these services, you can buy a brand new Gold Cup® with the upgrades right from the factory.”

This new Gold Cup® features Colt’s competition ergonomics, including an undercut trigger guard and upswept beavertail grip safety, and Colt’s Dual Spring Recoil System™ for improved recoil mitigation. Factory 25 LPI checkering on the front and rear strap of the grip, along with Colt branded blue G10 grips complete the stabilization package. Competitors will appreciate the firing system, which is now the Colt Series 70™ system, which reduces the number of moving parts in the trigger assembly, as well as reduces the length and weight of the trigger pull.

“Another big change for this model is that along with the traditional .45 ACP, it’s also available in 9mm,” said Redl. “The whole package makes this a really appealing handgun for world class competitors.” The new Gold Cup® Trophy is available in 9mm (SKU: O5072XE) and .45 ACP (O5070XE), and has an MSRP of $1,699.

Colt Launches Tactical Lighting

Monday, January 9th, 2017

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (January 06, 2017) – Legendary firearms manufacturer Colt is excited to announce the release of its first line of integral-mount weapon lighting and handheld tactical lighting systems. The product line includes four tactical flashlights and four weapon-light systems, featuring up to 1200 lumens of high intensity power.

The new line of tactical and weapon lights are designed with the quality and performance Colt customers have come to expect from all of its product lines. “They are a new standard in portable mountable lighting,” said Tan Woo, lead design engineer for Colt Lights. “Now Colt enthusiasts have an answer for their illumination needs – be it for hunting, training, or law enforcement and security duty. These robustly designed lights can withstand the rigors of daily use while providing superior visibility when environmental light is low to extremely dark.”

The Colt weapon light models includes the slim, rail-hugging integral-mount Microtac® MS white light and Predator™ green models. All of the integral-mount models are built with high performance, low-profile bodies and reversible heads and tails for optimal on-rail customization. They are efficiently powered by AA or AAA battery power systems (depending on model) for up to 400 lumens of output. “We wanted to make sure that our mountable lights were recoil-resistant for nearly all hunting rifle calibers,” said Woo. “And for flexibility, we designed them to mount on both Picatinny and Weaver rail systems, so sportsmen can easily use them with their existing equipment.” The light mounting system supports multiple ambidextrous mounting options. Predator™ models ship with both white and green LEDs.

The four new handheld tactical lights offer the same professional grade quality as the weapon light series. Tactical lights include the 1200 lumen high-intensity PeaceMaker® which is powered by four CR123 cells, the 800 Lumen compact slim-line Judge® powered by two CR123 cells, and the AMRAM® Microtac® AM100 and AM200 Backup Series. “When something goes bump in the night, these handheld flashlights offer the kind of illumination you need to inspire confidence,” says Woo.

Colt Lights will be available through Shop.Colt.Com and ColtLights.com.

Colt Announces Delta Elite Rail Gun

Wednesday, January 4th, 2017

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (January 4, 2017) – Often considered the manufacturer that saved the 10mm round from obscurity in the 1980’s, Colt readies yet another offering in that powerful chambering with the new Delta Elite® Rail Gun®. Aimed toward the outdoorsman who requires a sidearm stout enough for midsized game who prefers the proven 1911 platform, the Delta Elite® has always been a top choice. With its recent redesign, it didn’t seem that the model could get any better, but Colt found a way to improve upon the design again by offering the Delta Elite® with an accessory rail.

“The Delta Elite® started its life as tactical option for 1911 enthusiasts who required more stopping power than your tradition .45 ACP,” said Justin Baldini, Product Director for Colt. “In that world, an accessory rail makes a lot of sense. What we’ve seen, though, is that this is a great platform for hunting pig or other medium sized game. In those types of scenarios, proper illumination is critical, so I think hunters will really appreciate the ability to add on their favorite rail-mounted lighting.”

All of the enhanced features from the newly redesigned Delta Elite® are present on the Rail Gun® version, including the upswept beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety, all stainless steel construction, composite stocks with Delta medallions, and Novak white dot sights. The SKU is O2020RG, and the MSRP is $1,299.
