The grey Man is a new low visibility Eyepro option from Smith Optics.

The Grey Man offers full mil spec ballistic (Mil PRF 3103) protection as well as spring temples to resist day to day wear damage and adjustable nose pieces. It’s a great option for guys who need full protection but don’t want to look like the Terminator while on (or off) the job.

They are offered in Black and Gun Metal Grey but Smith is working on an All Knowing Gold, that same color you find down at the Souk. Currently, Grey is the only lens color. Available soon from

DSEi – Smith Elite

Friday, September 13th, 2013

What happens when you you combine the Echo and the Boogie? Why the Boogie Aviator of course! Aviators came to Smith requesting that engineer a way for them to wear the Boogie with their flight helmets. Smith took a hard look at the HGU-56/P helmet and realized the answer wasn’t a goggle but rather glasses with a goggle type seal.

The Boogie Aviator integrates two technologies. Their new slotted ventilation as well as the slotted lens technology which allows the eye pro to conform to more face shapes without optical distortion. Additionally, it helps dissipate energy across the lens rather than transmit it into the head. Additionally, as it is based on the Echo frame, swapping out lenses is as simple as opening two PivLocks. Conversely, you can adapt the Boogie Aviator lens to existing Echo and Arc frames. Finally, and most importantly for Aviators, the simple, thin temples of the Echo make donning and doffing the eye pro while wearing a helmet, a cinch.

Smith Elite Releases PivLock V2 Tactical

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013

We first showed you the PivLock V2 Tactical during SHOT Show. Now, they are available for purchase.

PivLock V2 Tactical

The frameless PivLock V2 Tactical features a 3-position adjustable nosepiece and innovative interchangeable lenses. Interestingly, the same interchangeable lens system also allows the lens to absorb energy in an impact. The TLT (Tapered Lens Technology) corrects distortion and incorporates anti-fog and scratch resistant coatings as well as offering 100% protection from UVA/UVB rays and full ANSI Z87.1 and US MIL-PRF-31013 coverage.

Available with Tan 499 or Black frames with Grey lens with optional Clear and Ignitor spares. I’m a big fan of the Ignitor lens as it offers high contrast on a bright day.
