Eberlestock Unveiling Surprising New Products at SHOT Show

Sunday, January 16th, 2011

We received the coolest Pre-SHOT Show announcement we have seen this season from Eberlestock.

“In keeping with Eberlestock’s tradition of unveiling surprising new products at the Shot Show, this year we’ll display more unique and new intellectual property per square inch than any other company under the roof. Stop by booth #1108 and see:”

A new sniper / precision long range chassis system that is the core of the shortest-folding stock in the world. Designed as a bolt-on commercial product, this chassis brings the look of modern weaponry to conventional bolt-action rifles. See the above photo for a hint of what this system looks like. On the 25th anniversary of the “Eberle Stock” that revolutionized the Olympic sport of biathlon, they felt it was appropriate to remind people where our company name is derived from, and to reaffirm that they are more than a pack company.

The first in a line of new generation ALICE-frame-based pack systems developed by request of their military sniper customers.

New big-mountain packs targeted at both sheep hunters and the European military market.

A set of exciting new camouflage patterns developed in partnership with the Hide-Open camouflage company, and first introduced to the world on Eberlestock products.

The new Gunrunner pack, which is simplicity and elegance in backpack form… it’s just going to be a fun way to run around with a rifle on your back.

Badass LEGO Guns

Sunday, January 16th, 2011

Badass LEGO Guns: Building Instructions for Five Working Guns by Martin Hudepohl is a pretty cool book. Using parts you’ll most likely have to custom order along with rubberbands and super glue, you can build any of five guns, from the semi-auto “Parabella” pistol to the fully automatic bullpup “Warbeast”, as seen on the cover. There’s also a neat butterfly knife called the “Magic Moth” available as well. If you have a bit of spare time, patience, and a love of LEGOs, then this might just be the next set of projects you could be looking for.

Magpul iPhone Field Cases Now Shipping

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

One of the hottest products from last year’s SHOT Show is finally shipping; the iPhone Field Case. Magpul handed out prototypes but the fit and materials weren’t quite where they wanted them so they went back to the drawing board. Not only did they improve the prototype 3GS case but also added a special version for the iPhone 4.

Made from the same thermoplastic as the original Magpul loop, both cases feature PMAG-style ribs for added grip, snap-on design for easy installation and removal, and slides easily in and out of pockets. Offered in Black, Flat Dark Earth, and OD Green. The Executive Case is currently only offered in Black. The price on these things is amazing, just $9.95 and that is for a product made in the USA! Kudos to Magpul for building them here and for keeping the price down. Now all we need is a cover for the iPad.

To order visit www.Magpul.com.

Don’t forget to check Magpul’s new booth (#20263) out at SHOT Show.

Sage M14ALCS/PMRI

Friday, January 14th, 2011

The modern M14/M1A Sage EBR platform rifle was deployed in 2004 with the Navy under the designations MK14 Mod 0 and MK14 Mod 1. This was due to their need for a compact M14 with a collapsible stock, which would facilitate easier deployment in the confines of ships, vehicles and in air operations. Shortly after, the U.S. Coastguard adopted the Sage EBR, also under the designation MK14 Mod 0. Other forces followed suit, with the Army’s M14EBR-RI, the Marine Corps’ M39 EMR, and the Air Forces’s MK14 Mod 0.

Now, Sage offers a newer version of this classic rifle in the M14ALCS/PMRI configuration. Aimed at precision shooters or snipers requiring an adjustable stock comb height, the traditional EBR chassis is now fitted with a MagPul PRS2 stock. If reaching out far and touching somebody bad is part of your business, deploying with a Sage Enhanced Battle Rifle chassis equipped M14/M1A makes it infinitely possible!
