AKs are inexpensive so lots of guys are picking them up. Consequently, we are seeing more and more accessories for the AK family to soup them up. One of the latest examples is this AK Rear Sight Rail For Low Profile Red Dot Optics from Strike Industries.
Basically, it replaces the rear sight with a 1913 rail so that you can mount an MRDS or other sights.
The new Negev NG-7 from Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) is a 7.62mm big brother to the popular Negev-5 5.56mm SAW and shares almost 80% of its components with its smaller brother. The NG stands for next generation so, in addition to the larger caliber, it also features semiautomatic fire. In automatic mode, its rate of fire is over 700 rounds per minute.

I had the opportunity to check out Cabot Guns during SHOT Show, and wrote here about their “Southpaw”. They were recently recognized on C-SPAN by their Congressional Representative. It’s a brief mention to be sure, but I thought I’d share it.
