the 2013 BHI Girls & Guns calendars are in stock and are currently being shipped! This year’s calendar is their best ever. I know. I was there when they shot the calendar.

Another good reason to order now is that ALL PROCEEDS will go to support Xtreme Couture G.I. Foundation and It Ain’t Chemo. By purchasing a calendar you can help BHI raise needed funds for wounded veterans and their families, and for cancer patients and their families.

INFORCE Auto Pistol Light

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

We first showed you the new INFORCE Auto Pistol Light from Emissive Energy Corp during last month’s Maneuver Conference at Ft Benning. It offers 200 lumens of white light in a tight beam for close- to mid-range applications and balanced peripheral light for discernment of the surrounding area. The APL has a run time of approximately 1.5 hours using a single Lithium CR123A battery.

Designed with a straightforward, unique, bilateral and ambidextrous paddle switching system, the INFORCE APL affords left or right hand activation and natural finger movement from the weapon body to the switch to operate its momentary and constant modes.

Manufactured from fiber composite, the APL has a total length of 3 inches, width of 1.2 inches and weighs only 2.83 ounces, including the battery.

Currently it’s only available in Black although the yellow light on the show floor gave it a brownish sheen. Its integrated rail mounting system is compact, convenient, secure and easy to install without tools, utilizing a proprietary clamping system. The product ships with (2) rail mounting bars that accommodate GLOCK and MIL-STD-1913 rails.

Initial delivery is expected to be in late October 2012. US and International patents pending.

Special Operations Pins

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

I recently ran across Special Operations Pins on Facebook. They offer a wide variety of pins like the ones shown below created for the 5 Active Duty SF Groups.

Special Operations Pins will provide a commemorative pin(s) to any Special Operations WIA, NOK Family (of a KIA), or Korean, WW II Veteran (and Family) free of charge and shipping upon request.

According to their Facebook page –

“We proudly support the Green Beret Foundation, The Special Operations Warrior Foundation, The Wounded Warrior Project, and The Point Du Hoc Foundation but we are not limited to these organizations in fund raising efforts to support our superb service members and their families. We frequently provide complimentary pins to our Special Operations friends purchasing from us – we strongly encourage our friends receiving these complimentary pins – not to thank us – but to return the gratitude to the outstanding men and women of our Armed Forces in a contribution of comparable value to any of these aforementioned organizations (or like minded non-profits).”

Information on purchasing pins is available through www.facebook.com/specialoperationspins.

Country singer Keni Thomas was a Ranger serving in Mogadishu on Oct 3rd, 1993. Here, he speaks about his experience during the Oct 3rd raid that is commonly referred to as the Battle of Mogadishu..

Operation Gothic Serpent

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

Today is the 19th Anniversary of the Oct 3rd Raid during which elements of TF Ranger, deployed to Mogadishu, Somalia conducted an operation on that city’s Olympic Hotel in order to capture key leaders of the Aidid Militia.

Unfortunately, during the exfil portion of the raid a battle ensued that claimed the lives of 18 Americans and wounded another 73. Additionally, CW3 Michael Durant was captured by the militia. Fortunately, Durant was later repatriated and went on to retire from the 160th.

For those of you unfamiliar, one of the best accounts of the battle is contained in the book, “Blackhawk Down” by author Mark Bowden. Much of the information was serialized prior to the book’s publication in the Philadelphia Enquirer. Later this was made into a movie bearing the same name.

Please take a moment to remember these men and their sacrifice.

Mission Ready Equipment Did Not Merge With Anyone

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

We recently ran a story announcing that Protect The Force had merged with Mission Ready Services. Unfortunately, our headline referred to Mission Ready Services as just “Mission Ready”. The body of the article was very clear about the issue but some readers got concerned that Mission Ready Equipment had been in on the merger. Nothing could be further from the truth. MRE is still owned by the same folks and they are still kicking ass bringing you great gear.

Now that we have gotten that out of the way I want to say thank you guys for reading, at least reading the headlines. However, the devil is in the details and the details are in those groups of words below the headlines, so dive into the details. I try to be as concise as possible because I know your time is valuable. Thanks!
