ArmorWorks Protective Combat Shirt Mod2

First seen on SSD at SOFIC 2012, the ArmorWorks Protective Combat Shirt has evolved with new materials and a new look. The genesis of this shirt is the ArmorWorks Protective Under Garment (PUGz) first fielded by the US Marine Corps in 2011 and subsequently by select units of USSOCOM. Like the PUGz, the Protective Combat Shirt is flame resistant (FR) and designed to protect the wearer from IED blast fragmentation and associated small particle debris.

The shirt is designed and cut to provide the wearer with additional protection for all the areas not covered by PPE. As seen in the accompanying pictures, the lower abdomen, lats, arms, neck and throat are all protected by a proprietary two-layer, double-sided Kevlar knit/jersey construction (sage green material in the photos). The Kevlar knit on the outside provides the combat proven protection while the inner jersey layer provides the moisture wicking comfort.

The high v-neck zipper-less collar provides 360 degree protection around the throat and neck without the uncomfortable bulge of a zipper under your plate carrier or body armor vest. The torso and back of the shirt features a diamond shaped jacquard mesh ventilation pattern commonly seen in state-of-art sports apparel that maps directly to the heat zones of an operator wearing body armor, providing breathability and cooling where needed most. As mentioned previously, the shirt is FR throughout and features X-STATIC antimicrobial technology that inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi.

Whether you’re planning a short notice trip to EUCOM or you’re already ankle deep in spent brass, this is the shirt you want to have on! The Protective Combat Shirt will be on display at the Modern Day Marine, September 24-26 at ArmorWorks Enterprises booth #2003.

Beyond Clothing Hires Multiple Industry Experts

Tuesday, September 24th, 2013

Beyond has assembled quite a team. This is huge news for Beyond and shows me that they are going to do a lot starting here in the very new future. Keep an eye on them. What I’ve seen so far has been impressive.

Seattle, WA, September 24, 2013 – Beyond Clothing, a technical clothing designer and manufacturer for the outdoor industry and Professional User community, has brought on several outdoor industry experts to manage increased production capabilities. The company came under new leadership last year and since that time, Beyond has doubled their employment and revamped their team to include experts in the technical garment production and design, marketing and government sales.

The new Beyond team members include Peter Reichel, formerly of Nike who is leading design as Creative Director; Jill Green, formerly of Black Diamond who is taking over as Outside Production Manager; Justin Mason, formerly of Smith Optics is heading up the Media Group; Carlos Merino, formerly of Edge Eyewear is leading the mission project team; and Mandy Bollmeier, formerly of LBT will manage special mission development projects.

The new hires come in advance of the company’s much-anticipated new product line launch, the grand opening of a vastly expanded production facility and the addition of uniquely technical production equipment, all slated for next month.

“We have put considerable effort and resources into creating a unique team and environment that will facilitate Beyond’s continued growth in the outdoor market,” said Rick Elder, President of Beyond Clothing. “We are ramping up for an exciting time of rapid development and production expansion. I am very proud of our team.”

Awhile back we told you that Craig Sawyer and Steve Reichert were going to provide training together. Now, Steve is working with Medal Of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer. The course is being held at a facility in Maysville that is well laid out. It’s very nice and only about 25 minutes from Jacksonville, NC.

Are you tired of attending Tac-T-Cool carbine courses where you dump inordinate amounts of rounds into a piece of paper at stone throwing distances? Have you ever wanted to actually employ the principals of rifle marksmanship to accurately put rounds on a target hundreds of yards away? If you’re one of the many great Americans out there who have the will and desire to become the best at everything you do then this course is for you. During the SRT Rifleman’s course you will acquire the rifle marksmanship principals that will allow you to accurately and effectively engage multiple targets from 50-500 yards and beyond. You will find yourself being constantly pushed by our staff to make every shot count, and make every shot a learning experience! Remember, there is no such thing as “advanced” shooters… just shooters who can apply the basic marksmanship principals quickly and effectively. That being said if you never really master the marksmanship principals in the first place how can you expect tp effectively employ them under stress when lives are on the line?

The course is being held Maysville, NC, November 2nd – 3rd, 2013.
