SOWW – Takin Bacon 2014

Thursday, April 3rd, 2014

Special Operations Wounded Warriors (SOWW) had its 3rd annual event Takin Bacon 2014 several weeks ago at an Undisclosed location in North Carolina. The Reaper Outdoors Team led by SEAL Master chief Ron “Reaper-01” Bellan covered the event and filmed the event for the hit TV show ‘Survive the Hunt’.

Hunt 1

SOWW brought in 13 SOF heroes including SEAL (ret.) Jason Redman, Wounded Wear. Each of the SOF hunters were issued a Mil-Tac knife to take down their wild hog. The SOF hunters were broken down into hunting parties that were lead by local guides equipped with teams of dogs to track down the hogs. Its difficult to figure out who is having a better time, the dogs or the hunters. The hunt is filled with exhilarating moments. When the dogs begin to bay a pig its an all out sprint through brush, swamp, mud, water, and briars to get to the cornered pig. Once the handler lets go of the catch dog its time for the hunter to use his Mil-tac knife for its expressed purpose. Its truly an up close and personal hunting experience.

Hunt 2

The weekend is not only about tracking and taking down hogs. SOWW provides the SOF hunters with tons of excellent sponsored gear. More importantly though, its about the fellowship and camaraderie around the camp fires at night. It’s a truly unique experience that fosters brotherhood and healing.

SOWW is a 501c3 organization that gets wounded SOF back in the woods, on family retreats, fishing and hunting trips throughout the USA. If you want to support and learn more, please go to www.sowwcharity.com.

Lancer Launches The New Active Shooter Response Kit For Law Enforcement

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014

Allentown, PA – March 31, 2014 – Lancer Systems LP, a leading advanced weapons and components manufacturer, today announced the launch of the Lancer Active Shooter Response Kit. The kit is designed for law enforcement agencies and individual officers who want to add the speed advantage of the Lancer L15 lower receiver and the reliability of the Lancer L5AWM magazine to an existing patrol rifle.

L15LE kit

The Lancer Active Shooter Response Kit, which comes in both stripped and complete versions, enables an officer to continue to use his or her own upper receiver. Each kit includes three translucent L5AWM magazines; one of each of the 10-, 20- and 30-round capacities. The design and control configuration of the kit allows the user to carry an additional 30 rounds of ammunition and reload in under two seconds.

The stripped kit includes a semi-assembled L15 lower receiver with tactical magazine well, FAB Defense GL stock, and Lancer Single Point Sling Mount. The receiver is delivered with the pivot pin, bolt release and magazine release pre-installed. The complete lower kit comes assembled and ready for an upper receiver. Kits start at $384.98 MSRP.

“So far, the feedback we’ve received from law enforcement agencies and through training seminars focused on the Active Shooter Response Kit has been incredibly positive,” said Ty Weaver, Director of Special Operations & Training, Lancer. “Officers are constantly telling us they need a way to make their rifles lighter, faster and more accurate. Many times, however, budget constraints do not allow for entirely new equipment purchases. The kits provide officers immediate improvements to their current weapons to better ensure their safety out on the street.”

The Lancer Active Shooter Response Kit is the second product launch of Lancer’s new Special Operations Division, a segment of the Advanced Weapons & Components business area with an expansion of offerings specialized for military and law enforcement personnel. The division’s initial product launch was the Lancer Single Point Sling Mount, an exclusive attachment accessory featured in the new Active Shooter Response Kit and currently in use by a US Navy Special Mission Unit.

Rob Anderson Buys US PALM

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014

Pretty exciting new for Rob. He and I are old sparring partners and I know he has been working on this for awhile now so I’m glad to hear that his dream has come to fruition. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for US PALM.

RA

Scottsdale, AZ – US PALM, the industry leader in AK47 accessories and soft armor solutions, is pleased to announce that founder Robert Anderson has purchased US PALM [US Primary Armament Logistical Manufacturing] from its holding company SGC Global Industries. Anderson founded US PALM in the spring of 2009 and has seen successful growth each year since its creation. With flagship products such as the AK30 magazine and the Defender soft armor solutions, US PALM looks forward to long term continued growth under Anderson’s direction as President of US PALM, LLC.

With US PALM entering its 5th year of business, the transition away from SGC Global Industries comes during a growth cycle for each company. “The timing was right on both sides to execute the break-away,” Anderson stated, “PALM will benefit from more individualized attention and a more focused organizational structure. My goal with PALM has always been to fill the gaps that exist in the industry with quality gear and I look forward to returning to US PALM’s roots”

Anderson will apply a renewed focus and energy to US PALM by realigning with the original goals of the company: to create gear for the modern warfighter and innovative solutions with real world purpose. US PALM will release information on product launches and new partnerships in Q2 of 2014 and looks forward to capitalizing on new and existing opportunities under Anderson’s ownership.

During the transition period, US PALM will continue normal operations from their current Scottsdale facility. In late Q2 2014 US PALM will relocate to a new larger facility in North Phoenix, currently under construction, to meet expanded production needs.
