In celebration of their 40th Anniversary, Princeton Tec has released their new catalog showing off their latest products.
ZEV Technologies has been mounting the new Leupold Optics DeltaPoint Pro for some time now using their patented interface. When it’s on, it’s solid.
Leupold’s new DeltaPoint Pro has been in the wild for awhile now having undergone live environment evaluation with a variety of shooters including a brief appearance at last Summer’s ‘Fuerzas Comandos’ in Colombia with the 7th SFG(A) team. I got my first look at the mini red dot sight last Summer as well at Leupold’s factory in Beaverton, Oregon and later was able to spend some time on the range with it at Spartan Tactical near Fort Worth. I have to say that I was rather pleased with sight. When I originally saw the integrated rear sight over the Summer I was pretty leery, concerned that it would be a distraction, but once I was able to actually use it the rear sight was very functional and I was able to transition between DeltaPoint Pro and irons quite easily.
Leupold has listened to customer feedback and specifically addressed the issues with intensity of the dot. Two reticle versions are available; a 2.5-MOA red dot or a 7.5 inscribed red delta and in addition to the auto-brightness sensor which relies on ambient light conditions, you can also set manually the intensity you want via push button. The dot can be adjusted for sighting in at 1 MOA per click. The DeltaPoint Pro features tool-less battery replacement for the CR 2032 3v. Leupold has integrated their Motion Sensor Technology (MST), which puts the sight into a battery-saving standby mode. Conversely, when the MST senses motion, it turns on but there is a manual off mode as well. Leupold has introduced something new to the DeltaPoint Pro (as well as two other really cool new products we’ll show you next week); the sight is waterproof to 66 feet.
As you can see in the gallery below, the DeltaPoint Pro is modular in design and can be run slick or fitted with a rear sight designed to cowitness with the reflex sight. This rear sight is used in conjunction with a suppressor-style front sight. Look for additional rear sight options from other manufacturers. The mount kit comes complete with 11 different mounts. Additionally, risers are available for use with rifles including Picatinny mount.
Shipping Late June with first priority to military customers.
Here is their press release for this new sight:
BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc., introduces the DeltaPoint Pro, a ruggedized reflex sight built to withstand the hardest recoil, while still delivering a crisp, immediate aiming point on pistols, rifles and shotguns.
This next generation of the legendary Leupold DeltaPoint features a lightweight aluminum housing, shrouded in a spring steel armor. This light but rugged frame houses a crisp, clear aspheric lens, generating a wide field of view and outstanding image quality.
“The DeltaPoint Pro was built with the warfighter, back country hunter and defensive pistols in mind,” said Tim Lesser, director of product development for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “For these folks, a sight problem can mean more than a bad score on a pistol stage.”
The DeltaPoint Pro maintains Leupold’s Motion Sensor Technology (MST), which puts the sight into a battery-saving standby mode. When the MST detects motion, it instantly reactivates the sight, so it’s ready when you are. A manual mode allows the sight to be shut off when not in use.
An auto-brightness sensor continuously samples the ambient light and adjusts the DeltaPoint Pro to provide optimal reticle intensity. For those with specific brightness preferences, a manual adjustment overrides the auto-brightness sensor.
Waterproof to an industry-leading 66 feet, the DeltaPoint Pro now allows for the battery to be changed from a top access port, removing the need to remove the sight. Two reticle options are available. A 2.5-MOA red dot or a 7.5 inscribed red delta.
In the event of a battery failure, the DeltaPoint Pro has an optional rear iron sight designed to cowitness with the reflex sight. A tall, suppressor-style front sight may be required.
The DeltaPoint Pro can be installed using a cross-slot mount on a Picatinny, Weaver or other rail base. For flat-top AR-pattern rifles, a cross-slot riser mount is also available. As with previous generation DeltaPoints, an all-mount kit includes both cross-slot mounts, as well as adapter plates for most of the popular handguns on the market.
From .22s to .458 SOCOMs, the DeltaPoint Pro can handle the recoil without a loss or shift of zero. Its light weight and small package makes it a great choice for the growing number of people mounting reflex sights on defensive handguns. A light tunnel reduces any unwanted illumination leaks during low-light tactical usage.
Long battery life and Leupold’s industry-best Gold Ring Electronics Warranty make the DeltaPoint Pro a worry-free sighting option. From duty pistols to turkey shotguns to AR rifles, the DeltaPoint Pro is ready for anything.
NEWINGTON, N.H. (January 12, 2015) — SIG SAUER, Inc., has assembled a team of industry leading engineers, designers, and professional end-users under the leadership of Division President Kevin Brittingham to introduce the next generation of professional grade signature reduction devices to the market.
“The team we have assembled is combining cutting-edge design with advanced material selection and state of-the-art manufacturing processes,” said Jeff Creamer, Executive Director and General Merchandise Manager for SIG SAUER, Inc. “SIG SAUER Silencers offer new standards of durability, accuracy, and performance.”
Offering solutions for rimfire, centerfire pistols and centerfire rifles up to .338 Lapua Magnum, users can enhance their shooting experience over a wide array of host platforms. Featuring innovations like tubeless rifle silencers to maximize volume and reduce weight, Taper-Lok fast-attach mounting systems that minimize point-of-impact shift, and machined wrench flats to facilitate proper torque and ease of removal.
In addition to technical innovations, SIG SAUER has rethought the utility of silencers. Primarily looked at as a military tool, silencers have exploded on the sport and recreational shooting scene over the past few years.
“As we started to rethink silencers, we also rethought how they are used,” Creamer said. “The result is a military-grade silencer that would be optimal for any unit or law enforcement agency to use, that also makes sense for the commercial market.”
For example, the SRD45 silencer, designed for use on .45 Auto handguns, comes with two pistons, allowing it to be attached to either .578×28 TPI or M16x1LH threads, making it a versatile choice for use on multiple firearms. Nine millimeter and .40S&W pistons are available and greatly add to the versatility of the system. Likewise, the SRD22 rimfire silencer comes with two adapters: both ½x28 and M9.
SIG SAUER has also rethought how silencers attach to firearms, which is the key factor in accuracy. New tapered direct thread designs eliminate the need for a crush washer, allowing the silencers to be more securely torqued down, increases the surface area of contact, and is self-centering to the bore. This design allows for a much more secure fit and significantly reduces the POI shift when using the silencer.
This taper design carries over to the new Taper-Lok QD mounting system. The innovative, modular three-piece design does not require timing to the barrel. Once attached, the Taper-Lok mount features interchangeable muzzle devices, so users can change from a muzzle brake to a flash hider, without the need to remove the mount from the barrel. Taper-Lok QD silencers feature a secondary retention latch, which has wrench flats machined in to facilitate proper torque and aid in removal when heavily fouled by carbon build-up.
SIG SAUER pistol silencers are constructed with 100% 17-4 stainless steel baffles, which offer the same weight as aluminum but far better wear resistance and durability. Designed to be hearing safe when used “dry,” SIG SAUER pistol silencers can also be used “wet” with an ablative material such as water. The rimfire silencer can be disassembled for easy cleaning, and the stainless baffles allow the silencer to be “dipped” into an ultrasonic cleaner, something not possible with aluminum baffle stacks.
Featuring a selection of stainless steel, titanium, direct mount or fast attach, select SIG SAUER silencers will hit the market in Q1 2015.

Back in November I got a chance to check out Lancer’s Adaptive Magwell. Initially developed as a two-piece item, Lancer Systems created a few one-piece models to demonstrate to the US Army as a simple add-on to existing mil-spec M4/16 rifles. Now, the one-piece variant is available as a production item. Installed with a cartridge tip, it’s a great way to incorporate a flared magwell into existing mil-spec weapons without having to replace the lower receiver. I’ve tried it and with minimal practice, you can easily insert a magazine without having to bring the weapon up into your workspace to take a look at what you are doing. Sure, the Luddites will say that you can get there with a standard magwell and they are right, but the flare makes it a lot easier. The Adaptive Magwell slides onto the rifle’s existing Magwell and detent at the rear of the Adaptive Magwell fits into the front of the trigger guard to hold it fast.
Quakertown, PA – January 13, 2015 – Lancer Systems LP, a leading advanced weapons and components engineering and manufacturing company, today announced the release of the one piece Adaptive Magwell, a simple, easy-to-install component engineered to significantly reduce reload times for law enforcement officers and Soldiers. The new magwell will debut at SHOT Show 2015 in Lancer’s booth, #7503.
With its funnel-like design, the one piece adaptive magwell increases the diameter of the magwell and trigger guard area. The component is designed to fit Mil spec 5.56 AR style rifles with winter trigger guards and requires no tools to install. The adaptive magwell is machined from 6061 T6 aluminum and weighs 0.05 lbs.
“A few seconds can make all of the difference for our military and law enforcement officers. The one piece adaptive magwell is a simple, cost effective tool that an officer or Soldier can quickly attach to his or her rifle without any tools to significantly reduce reload times,” explained Ty Weaver, director, advanced weapons & components, Lancer Systems.
