BLACKHAWK! Launches New Fall Apparel Line at 2017 National Rifle Association Annual Meetings and Exhibits

The Purpose Shirt features Tac Flow 2.0 fabric, a lightweight, quick-dry fabric that is designed for continuous movement and breathability. The Precision Shirt includes a stain resistant coating to resist oil, water and stains, while the Verity Shirt features plaid fabric to reduce imprinting and breakaway snap plackets to allow for quick access. A new polo in the line called the Cool React Polo features a sweat activated technology on the interior of the fabric, which creates a cooling sensation keeping you both cool and dry.

In addition to these items, two jackets and a pair of pants will also be available. The garments are designed for operators and personnel who demand a reliable blend of function and security. ATF Clarifies Ruling on Pistol Stabilizing Braces

Newington, N.H. (April 25, 2017) – SIG SAUER, Inc. announced news of a welcomed clarification from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) on pistol stabilizing braces (PSB). The ATF’s refined position is that placing a PSB against the shoulder does not, in and of itself, necessarily alter the classification from pistol to short-barreled rifle (SBR).

In a letter dated March 21, 2017, ATF reexamines its earlier position, which stated that shouldering a PSB-equipped firearm could constitute the making of an unregistered short-barreled rifle under the National Firearms Act (NFA). ATF now states:

“With respect to stabilizing braces, ATF has concluded that attaching the brace to a handgun as a forearm brace does not ‘make’ a short-barreled firearm because … it is not intended to be and cannot comfortably be fired from the shoulder.” The letter continues: “Therefore, an NFA firearm has not necessarily been made when the device is not re-configured for use as a shoulder stock — even if the attached firearm happens to be fired from the shoulder.”

The following passage from the letter acknowledges the confusion surrounding the January 2015 “Open Letter on the Redesign of ‘Stabilizing Braces’”, and clarifies that ATF does not consider shouldering a PSB-equipped firearm, in and of itself, to render it an SBR.

“To the extent the January 2015 Open Letter implied or has been construed to hold that incidental, sporadic, or situational ‘use’ of an arm-brace (in its original approved configuration) equipped firearm from a firing position at or near the shoulder was sufficient to constitute a ‘redesign,’ such interpretations are incorrect and not consistent with ATF’s interpretation of the statute or the manner in which it has historically been enforced.”

The safety is a familiar cross-bolt push button safety easily manipulated by the trigger finger. One 10rd magazine is included. Like all Aero Survival Rifles, the new 22LR ASR also can be used with the new handguard adapter allowing it to use any free float style AR-15 handguard like the 45ACP model pictured below.

The 22LR ASR joins the family of take-down, pistol-caliber Aero Survival Rifles available is in 9mm Luger, .357Sig, .40S&W, 45ACP and even the powerful 10mm, all using Glock pattern magazines. The removable barrel and easily convertible caliber changes allow the shooter to switch between similar cartridges with nothing more than the change of a barrel and bolt assembly. The ASR 22LR conversion kit comes with the kit comes with a drop in bolt assembly, one 10rd magazine, a barrel, and complete trigger housing.

SB Tactical Announces Reversal of ATF Open Letter on the Use of SB Tactical Pistol Stabilizing Braces

(April, 25, 2017) – SB Tactical™, inventors and manufacturers of the Pistol Stabilizing Brace®, is excited to announce that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) has issued SB Tactical a reversal letter containing a sensible clarification of the Bureau’s position on the lawful use of SB Tactical braces.

The new clarification of opinion letter states, “an NFA firearm has not necessarily been made when the device is not reconfigured for use as a shoulder stock – even if the attached firearm happens to be fired from the shoulder.
