Source One and ViaGlobal Group Form Alliance

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

ViaGlobal, LLC, a tailored training and leadership organization supporting the United States military and United States Government, and Source One Distributors, Inc. recently confirmed a teaming arrangement that will allow both companies to provide additional enhanced goods and services to the United States Armed Forces. Source One is well known to our readers for its participation in the Special Operational Equipment Tailored Logistics Support program and ViaGlobal most recently was awarded a contract to manage and operate the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center near Amman, Jordan.

The $200 million KASOTC facility is situated in a 1,235-acre quarry and the compound consists of fully equipped grenade ranges, a 100-meter rifle and pistol range, and a 300-meter rifle range. An eight-story structure for climbing, rappelling, and distance shooting serves as a centerpiece of the facility. There is also a full-scale A-300 Airbus fuselage for aircraft training, and a close-quarters battle (CQB) house with a three-story armored facility and adjoining five-story tower that provides room-to-room combat practice using live fire.

“We are very excited to work with ViaGlobal,” said Source One President & CEO, Mark Llano. “From our time spent with them at KASOTC we knew that we were getting a teaming partner that was committed to doing everything possible to support our troops in the field.”

The relationship is a win-win for both companies. Leveraging ViaGlobal’s knowledge base of former military and government leaders, as well as their network of contacts in the industry, Source One will not only gain a competitive edge in the marketplace but also be able to expand its already vast customer base. Alternatively, utilizing Source One’s award winning distribution capabilities and procurement vehicles, ViaGlobal will be able to significantly grow the range of products and services they offer to the warfighter.

Front of GSS During Grand Opening June 6th 2009

Local Hampton Roads based Global Supply Solutions, LLC recently expanded its Virginia Beach facilities and held its Grand Re-Opening June 6th, 2009. Previously located at 2 different locations, GSS consolidated their Pro Shop and warehouse in a new facility located at 1569 Diamond Springs Road, Suite C & D, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.

GSS Pro Shop

The new facility totals 39,800 square feet consisting of offices, an expanded lounge, 5,500 square feet of Pro Shop, briefing room, classroom and a training area suited for an array of training options. The new lounge consists of a sitting room with television, pool table, and a foosball table to keep customers entertained after shopping or to keep the non-shoppers entertained while their loved ones shop for their tactical, outdoor, and fitness equipment needs.

GSS Briefing Room

The briefing room is set up “theatre style” with a 60” television that is wired for HDMI connection to simplify presentations and seats up to 16 personnel. GSS’s other classroom is scaled down to basic classroom needs and can host up to 32 personnel comfortably. The 32 person classroom is set up for presentations via projector and screen.

GSS Training Room

The training room is set up to accommodate an array of training with 2,000 square feet of MMA mats with a selection of training equipment from training batons, Redman Suits, kick and strike pads, Everlast heavy bags, and throw dummies. The training area doubles as a Fitness Anywhere and CrossFit facility. Portable stands (bleachers) are available to host up to 50 personnel throughout the training. Three caving ladder stations are also available for any aspect of climbing technique training or fitness regime.

Extended Pro Shop

GSS’s distribution center now boasts just short of 17,000 square feet of warehouse space which is used to maintain “surge” requirements for short notice requirements, regularly requested items, or to assist local units with their inventory management, logistics, and storage shortfalls. GSS’s distribution center also maintains embroidery and sewing capabilities for uniform name tapes, warfare insignias, and rank insignias which means all uniforms are stocked and all sewing can be done internally.

The consolidation of the GSS GEAR facilities offers new capabilities for their customers with classroom, briefing, and training rooms located less than 2 minutes from Little Creek Amphibious Base and within 15 minutes from Naval Base Norfolk.

TAG; A New Direction

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Tactical Assault Gear’s genesis was in the retail business selling quality tactical and outdoor products. As market demand shifted, TAG began to develop and manufacture their own line of tactical nylon products but retained their retail store front presence in three markets; Coronado NAB and Camp Pendleton, California as well as Fort Bragg, North Carolina. As the manufacturing business grew, TAG’s CEO Chris Osman began to implement a transition to a purely online business model combined with a host of retailers in key markets. In order to fulfill their commitments to retail space property owners, the closure of each of the three stores coincided with the end of the leasing period. The stores in California have been closed for some time but the full transition was completed recently as TAG fulfilled their four year Lease in Fayetteville. TAG has partnered with local retailers in these markets to offer their products to walk in clients and continues to serve its customer base on the web for all others.
