IWA – Two New Patterns Join PenCott Camo Family Of Patterns: Wildwood And MetroPolis

Thursday, March 2nd, 2017

Helikon-Tex (Hall 9, Stand #222) is exhibiting two new Camo patterns in Hyde Definition’s PenCott family of camouflage patterns; Wildwood and Metropolis.

Wildwood

Wildwood was developed at the request of Polish Special Forces, through a deep collaboration between Hyde Definition and Helikon-Tex. It is optimized for the moderate climate woodland areas of Central and Eastern Europe and was created by adjusting the tonal values of GreenZone by adding more brown shades, and de-saturating the bright green.

MetroPolis

The result of 5 years of development effort, MetroPolis is optimized for industrial / built-up environments, and low-light / night operations. The overall tone of MetroPolis is lighter than many other ‘urban’ patterns because lighter colors darken in low light levels, but still maintain disruption and blending performance. Patterns which use predominantly dark colors tend to ‘blob out’ under low light conditions, which lessens their performance. The unique color palette of MetroPolis was derived from an extensive analysis of scientific research by NATO and the US military forces.

Blue Force Gear Launches New Belt Fed Loop

Tuesday, February 28th, 2017

POOLER, GA., Feb. 28, 2017 – Blue Force Gear®, the designer and manufacturer of the world’s finest weapon slings and tactical equipment, debuts its new Belt Fed Loop™ (BFL) today.

IMG_9930

The BFL was designed for belt-fed weapons, and it is expected to have high application in the military because when soldiers regularly turn their weapons into the armory they have to remove the slings. The BFL allows for a quick, easier removal of the sling from the weapons.

IMG_9931

“We are always excited to launch new products,” said Ashley Burnsed, CEO of Blue Force Gear. “The new Belt Fed Loop is a game-changer because it allows for a faster removal of the sling from weapons which will improve productivity from users.”

The BFL offers a girth hitching attachment style without having to remove the weapon sling completely from the hardware. This design allows for the same versatility found in the Universal Wire Loop™, except as a quick-detach version. The BFL can be purchased through Blue Force Gear’s website.

Made from aircraft-grade seven strand stainless steel cable, the BFL requires no unthreading or re-threading of the weapon sling required to attach to a firearm. The BFL can also be mounted on the right hand side of AKs for left-handed shooters, plus it is fast to assemble.
