LALO Tactical Zodiac Recon

I really like the Battleship color but they are also offered in Desert Cam, Night Vision (Black/Green) and Blk Ops (Murdered Out).
La Sportiva – Trango Cube GTX Highlander
Monday, August 17th, 2015During the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market earlier this month, I had an opportunity to check out a new tactical version of the popular Trango Cube GTX from La Sportiva. The brand has long been embraced by the military who have issued at the unit level, several models of their civilian mountain boots. What’s interesting was their choice of color scheme for this militarized version of the Trango Cube. While the civilian Trango Cube GTX may be the most advanced boot in the line, the existing colors are hardly friendly to tactical climbing. As you can see, this version incorporates the Highlander transitional camouflage pattern from Kryptek.
The Trango Cube GTX features a new seamless, waterproof upper with protective rand and direct-inject lacing system. Additionally, this Gore-Tex lined boot offers an integrated removable tongue made from a soft stretch fabric to increase comfort. They’ve also reduced the weight from previous versions yet increased abrasion resistance. One of the ways they’ve reduced weight is with the La Sportiva “One” sole made by Vibram which offers a lower profile meaning lower weight.

Saturday, August 8th, 2015For Spring 2016, Adidas Outdoor will offer some new colors (Branch and Granite) for the existing Terrex Swift-R GTX as well as introduce some interning new models like the Terrex Solo Approach Shoe featuring Stealth Rubber and the Climacool Jawpaw Lace a water shoe also featuring Stealth Rubber as well as the adidas Drain System. 
Below you can see the Stealth Rubber and drainage soles.
This next shoe caught my eye from across the booth. It’s hard to believe that the GSG-9 boot is four decades old but the GSG9 Trail is meant to pay homage to that old standby.
It’s definitely interesting but some of the design features remind more of the newer GSG9.7s rather than the originals.
OR – Lowa Task Force – Innox GTX Mid TF
Saturday, August 8th, 2015The Innox GTX Mid TF began on the commercial side but was brought over to the Task Force line. It is inherently a fast and light design that they updated the colorway and swapped out the hooks for speed eyelets.
One of Lowa’s strength is their sole system. They are well regarded as an industry leader in utilizing PU monowraps which add stability without compromising mobility. Lowa combines this with PU midsoles rather than the EVA found in running shoes for enhanced durability.
It’s got a Cordura upper combined with a nylon skeletal frame that cradles the foot and locks your instep in place. Lowa builds last constructed Gore-Tex liners rather than the standard bootie construction. They’ve also added ventilation holes just above the ankle to aid in comfort.

Friday, August 7th, 2015For Summer 16, Salewa is introducing two new lightweight mountaineering boots, the Raven 2 GTX and the Crow GTX.
The Raven 2 GTX is about 15% lighter than the precious model. They did this by removing material where it wasn’t needed yet retained the crampon compatibility. The Crow GTX is about 10% lighter than the existing Rapace but utilizes synthetics rather than leather. Both are 3-season boots.
Next up is the new is a leather lined, non-GTX Mountain Trainer for those guys who want an all leather boot. It continues the same features of the Trainer.
The Alp Flow GTX came out this Spring, It integrates WL Gore’s Surround technology and I absolutely love this boot. These are being adopted left and right by government agencies and are offered now in Ballisco and Smoke.
This is the Firetail 3 which is the latest update to Salewa’s classic approach shoe. Offered in GTX and non-gore versions. They’ve updated to a wider fitting last. Additionally, they are a very flat shoe and utilized a Vibram megagrip sole. Check out the Blackout and Black Olive colors!
Salewa has broken into the trail running market with new Mountain Training styles. The Lite Train (6 mil drop) and the Ultra Train (8 mil drop) both intros grate the new Michelin Outsole.
Under development for two years, the Michelin Outsole integrates materials and lugs from their two most popular mountain bike tires.
