UF PRO Introduces Lightweight, Ultra-Soft Delta Eagle Gen.3 Tactical Softshell Jacket

Thursday, January 5th, 2023

KOMENDA, SLOVENIA (5 JANUARY 2023)—Tactical clothing manufacturer UF PRO today announced the availability of its new Delta Eagle Gen.3 Tactical Softshell Jacket.

“The Delta Eagle Gen.3 Tactical Softshell Jacket offers outstanding lightweight protection, maximum comfort, and optimal fit and performance for wearers embarked on missions in humid chilly environments,” said UF PRO Head of Product Development Armin Wagner. “We’re confident that operators will find it incredibly soft and warm, and that they’ll appreciate how fast it dries as well as how much easier it makes accessing their belt-carried gear and holsters.”

Wagner said the Delta Eagle Gen.3 Tactical Softshell Jacket overcomes a variety of problems common among competitors’ jackets in this category, such as comfort-impairing construction, mobility reducing material stiffness, function-limiting design, and a tendency to cause wearers to overheat while engaged in strenuous activities.

“The Delta Eagle Gen.3 Tactical Jacket is a softshell that actually lives up to the name softshell,” he said. “That’s because we’ve broken the rules of softshell construction in order to produce a softshell jacket that’s genuinely soft and that employs the best microfleece technology available on the market.”

Wagner explained that traditional softshell jackets are made of three elemental layers glued together—a face fabric, an inner membrane, and a microfleece lining. This construction formulation, he said, results in “a rather thick and heavy jacket. However, by breaking the rules and redefining the established concept, by keeping the three elemental layers separated and replacing the adhesive with a layer of air, we’ve delivered a softshell jacket that has better breathability along with improved thermal insulation characteristics that translate to greater warmth. Moreover, this new approach to jacket construction yields a softer, higher-performance material that is less restrictive, quieter, and more easily compressed for packing compared to older softshell materials.”

Built into the Delta Eagle Gen.3 Tactical Jacket’s shoulders is UF PRO’s acclaimed air/pac® buffer system. This, said Wagner, provides an extra layer of insulation by putting air between the fabric and the wearer’s body. “It also prevents the shoulder straps of a backpack or plate-carrier from coming into direct contact with the body—this results in a continuous drying effect,” he indicated.

“Also, we designed this jacket to provide easier access to gear you’re carrying on your waist belt,” Wagner continued. “At the hip is a press button—open it, unzip the lower hem, and fix the jacket to your holster with the jacket’s drawcord. Doing this puts your handgun or knife within hands’ reach always, even as the jacket is working to keep you protected from the elements.”

Wagner called attention to a strategically placed, two-way zipper that runs along each side of the jacket from the hem to approximately elbow height. “The purpose of these zippers is to let wearers more effectively manage their body temperature,” he said.

Another novel attribute of the jacket is its Hood/Harness® hood packing/unpacking system, designed for fast application and intended to keep the wearer’s neck warm when the waterproof hood is packed into the collar, Wagner said.

Key features of the Delta Eagle Gen.3 Tactical Softshell Jacket include:

• Fully windproofed, highly water-repellent construction employing a durable nylon ripstop face fabric and an ePTFE-based inner membrane

• Moisture-wicking COCONA® 37.5™ microfleece technology for superior management of body vapours

• Fixed UF PRO air/pac® shoulder inserts to prevent thermal bridging

• Waterproof hood connected via UF PRO’s innovative Hood/Harness® system

• Dual front and upper-sleeve pockets

• Pen pocket

• Long Vislon® side zippers for easier opening and closing

• Press-button for improved access to belt-carried gear

• Waist, collar, cuff, and hem adjusters for a more precise fit

• Velcro® cover

Massif Elements Bib – Military

Thursday, December 22nd, 2022

Massif’s Elements line of FR clothing was some of the first gear on the market for military use which combined performance with protection from flame threats. In fact, this COTS solution was in use by select military aircrews before operations in the Middle East drove widespread adoption of the technology. Massif has launched a military version of the bib with new features.

Designed to keep you safe and warm, the Elements Bib incorporates a triple-layer, 4-way stretch Softshell flame-resistant fabric which sheds wind and rain. It features a fleece interior and an abrasion resistant exterior. The Battleshield XO FR fabric features Gore® (FR) stretch technology.

The bib design is cut high to eliminate skin exposure when worn with a jacket. In addition to above-the-knee-length zips to facilitate donning and doffing, there are two side entry pockets at the chest. There is a two-way zipper down the front and take up tabs at the waist ensure a snug fit to protect from flame threats. In addition to the two zippered handwarmer pockets at the waist, there are also cargo pockets on either thigh. Finally, both the knee and hem are reinforced with 330D Cordura.

UF PRO Unveils New Tactical Winter Suit for Sub-Zero Environments

Monday, December 5th, 2022

KOMENDA, SLOVENIA (30 NOVEMBER 2022)—Tactical clothing manufacturer UF PRO today announced the release of its Delta OL 4.0 Winter Jacket, to be followed before year’s end by the release of the Delta OL 4.0 Winter Pants. Together, the jacket and pants comprise UF PRO’s Delta OL 4.0 Winter Suit, the latest iteration of the company’s popular line of tactical winter garments for military and LE operators engaged primarily in stationary work when temperatures drop below zero. “The Delta OL 4.0 Winter Suit features superior thermal insulation,” said UF PRO Head of Product Development Armin Wagner. “The tactical winter jacket and pants consist of a dense G-LOFT® filling that creates the suit’s heat-preserving properties, making the Delta 4.0 the ultimate thermal insulation winter suit for sub-zero temperatures.”

Thermal insulation is but one of the key attributes of the new Delta 4.0 OL’s jacket and pants. According to Wagner, the suit also boasts a polyurethane membrane lining that blocks out wind and repels water. “This means the wearer enjoys full simultaneous protection from wind chill and moisture, and as a result is able to spend a prolonged time in cold environments.”

The Delta OL 4.0 Winter Jacket’s groundbreaking Hood/Harness® system provides waterproof head protection without obstructing the wearer’s line of sight, while the Delta 4.0. Winter Jacket comes with a detachable powdered skirt that prevents snow penetration, Wagner said.

The novel design of the Delta OL 4.0 Winter Pants permits unprecedented freedom to move, Wagner indicated. “They feature schoeller-dynamic® stretch fabric with an extra four-way stretch membrane to keep out wind and moisture.” he said. “And it’s our UF PRO® Flex/Zone® that makes sure the volume of the G-LOFT® insulation stays the same and doesn’t shrink as the pants stretch. As a result, you’ll feel as nice and warm kneeling or sitting as you do when standing.”

Wagner expressed confidence that the Delta 4.0 Tactical Winter Jacket and Pants will be appreciated by even the hardest to satisfy operators. “We understand the risks associated with working in extremely cold weather. In particular, we understand that thermometer readings alone don’t tell the true story of how cold it really is at any given moment in any given location—wind speed and external moisture levels also affect temperature and can make it feel a lot colder than the thermometer would suggest. Because of that, people out working in those conditions are at greater-than-they-think risk of hypothermia, frostbite, chilblains, and hives.

“We created the Delta 4.0 Winter Suit to address this problem. One of the reasons we are excited about this release is that we know it will benefit thousands of professionals worldwide.”
