SHOT Show 20 – Crye Precision

Just like every year in the past we begin with Crye Precision. The most new thing in the Booth is G4 Hot Weather clothing.

With an ensemble that consists of Field Shirt and Pants as well as Combat Shirt and Pants, the G4 Hot Weather is made from a combination of Polartec Power Dry mesh jersey with X-static anti-microbial fibers as well as two weights of Apocalypse fabric with the heavier weight for high wear areas on the Field Pant and Apocalypse and VTX Ripstop at high wear areas on the Combat Pant. Additionally, the Field Pant incorporates a gaiter at the bottom hem.

These will be offered in MultiCam and Ranger Green, sizes XS-3X, Short – XLong.

With the Combat Shirt, the design was kept as close to a base layer t-shirt as possible. You’ll definitely note the exposed buttons on pockets rather than the low profile Velcro fasteners. This is because in a jungle environment Velcro just doesn’t work as well due to being constantly wet and picking up errant material.

Next up is G4 Combat and Field apparel in new colors Khaki, Ranger Green and Black. Same new cut and VTX ripstop fabric, just additional colors.

We’ll wrap up with the LRB (Load Rated Belt), LRB Leg Loops and ASR (Adjustable Safety Restraint) Lanyard. These were developed for a USSOCOM requirement.

The LRB is rated to 15kN and offered in sizes S-XL in MultiCam, Coyote, Ranger Green and Black. Combined with the Leg Loops it forms a EN-12277 Compliant Climbing Harness. The ASR Lanyard is rated to 15 kN and adjustable from 18″-30″.

The Leg Loops are offered in SM/MD and L/XL in Coyote and Black and the ASR Lanyard is one-size in Coyote or Black.

FirstSpear Range Day 20 – Kadri Clothing Valkyrie Field Pant

Women owned Kadri Clothing exhibited their new Valkyrie Field Pant which are designed to fit women. The pants offer 11 pockets And are made from a DWR finished nylon/spandex blend with overbuilt construction for durability. Designed with a mid-rise waist, the Field Pant features two waist gussets as well as an extended crotch gusset to allow for the perfect amount of stretch and enhanced range of motion when on the move. Belt loops accommodate up to a 2” riggers belt and include two front cross-design loops to secure clip on accessories like a carabiner.

They rely on a revolutionary sizing system. The Waist-Hip Variation Representation, or WHVR, Matrix sizing system uses waist, hip and inseam measurements to find a customizable fit.

Arc’teryx LEAF 2020 & Combat SV Shirt and Pant

You’ll note that Arc’teryx LEAF has updated their website for 2020 and you’ll be able to check out the full line of new products for 2020, like Cold WX LT Gen 2. But today, we’re going to concentrate to the biggest news of the year, the Combat SV.

The ensemble consists of Combat Shirt and Pants.

Assault Shirt

Features:

• PPE Compatible – allowing the shirt to be functionally worn with body armour

• Low Pro Zip Neck Collar – allowing collar to be worn either open or as a neck protector

• Arm Cuff Velcro Closures – allowing for fully enclosed sleeves

• Upper Arm Zip Pockets – allowing for convenient pocket accessibility when worn with PPE

• Daisy Chain Hard Points (in upper arm pockets) – allowing for the tying off of mission essential items

Assault Pants

The first thing you’ll notice about the Combat SV is a new pocket configuration. This is the way forward for Arc’teryx LEAF and any new Combat clothing or updates to existing models will incorporates this layout.

• Adjustable Waist (c.2”) – allowing for waist sizing exibility

• Enhanced Belt Loops – allowing for the use of the LEAF Rigger’s Harness system

• Retention Loops (sewn into the waistline) – allowing for the tying off of mission essential items

• Reinforced Knees & Gusseted Crotch – allowing for increased durability and enhancing end-user mobility

• Hand Pockets (w/internal folding knife pocket) – allowing for the secure carriage of a standard folding knife

• Seat Pockets – allowing for optional/extra elongated item storage

• Thigh Pockets – allowing for convenient pocket accessibility when worn with PPE and/or mounted in vehicle platforms

• Expandable Cargo Button Pockets – allowing for dump pocket capability

• Daisy Chain Hard Points (in cargo pockets) – allowing for the tying off of mission essential equipment

• Draw Cord Ankle Cuff Closure (w/vertical retention tunnel for adjustment end) – allowing for pants to be worn tightly with boots (retention tunnel mitigates snags and hang ups)

• Internal Knee Cap Pockets – allowing for the integration of inclusive removable soft knee pads or fully compatible (separately purchased) LEAF Combat Knee Caps (MPN 24873)

Materials and sizing

Manufactured from TWEAVE Durastretch 520E, these are durable but not stifling. They are going to put up with a lot of abuse. However, you won’t be comfortable wearing them in the heat of summer, particularly if it’s humid.

Only available in MultiCam.

These are made in El Salvador meaning they are TAA compliant.

Kitanica – Overshirt

Made from 6.5 Oz ripstop NYCO fabric, the Overshirt features a banded collar, double layer shoulders and elbows, and button down front and cuffs. It also incorporates two pleated chest pockets with Velcro closures as well as zippered bicep pockets with pen tubes (left) and Velcro patch (right).

FirstSpear Friday Focus – ACM MID 400 – Squadron Smock

Today is another edition of the FirstSpear American Wool Series where we take a look at an item that FS builds with their USA Merino packages.

Check out the Squadron Smock, an exceptionally popular garment from FS which has maintained its classic design matched with modern high performance materials. The dual layer MID 400 merino package is used throughout the hood, back and shoulders as well as two zippered hand pockets. With over 18 total pockets this smock serves a load bearing vest style capability many outer garments could not support. An oversized hood works great over the top of a bump lid or helmet.

FirstSpear has also used a low profile padding through the elbow and forearm finished with extra large adjustable cuffs. Webbing attachment points on the back and hood can be used to secure a pack like the ECP or even add foliage for concealment.
