FiveTen
FiveTen has two new tactical footwear models in the works. Inspired by the Impact 2 downhill mountain biking shoe, they feature an all leather upper, and FiveTen’s sticky stealth rubber sole. Below is a picture of the Impact. The new shoes will be entirely Black or Tan.

They are poised to release a new tatcical trauma kit and have penned an exclusive deal with QuickClot.

OTB Boots
Ok, I have been alluding to the OTB Jungle boot project for awhile but here are the first pics…

Back to the future. A 21st century take on the venerable jungle boot.

The laces are a modified sausage style.

The sole design pays homage to the Panama Tread.

OTB took an entirely different approach to drain holes.

Solio
Carry your Solio charger in style. Solio’s new Tread line of accessories not only looks good but is manufactured from recycled tires.

UK
UK a company well known in the diving world, is releasing a new reinforced hanger intended for wet suits. But it is strong enough for a 175 lbs man to do pull ups from it so it will support body armor. What’s more it has a built in fan.

McNett
McNett has a new product currently called Rank Away but this name my change before it reaches market. It is designed to kill bacteria that causes odors and will help with that stinky armor problem.

Camelbak
Camelbak has developed three new carriers that are low profile and designed to attach to the back of body armor via their proprietary Direct Armor Attachment System. They have also developed the Racebak which is the fusion of a performance sleeveless t-shirt and a bladder system. It goes back to Camelbak’s roots, bike racing but I have a feeling that we will be seeing the Racebak adopted by military guys and adapted to a number of uses.

Outdoor Research
OR will be releasing three new gloves in the fall. All three are manufactured offshore but designed specifically for the military retail market. This means the price point will be much lower than their issue gloves.
The gloves are:
Pile Driver – Hard knuckle
Flash Point – Minimalist FR
Storm Cell – Tight fit, Gore-tex insert lining

Fisher Space Pens
They expect to release a flat tan version of the bullet pen soon.

Lowa Boots
The Desert Elite boot that has been exclusive to the UK Task Force line will be available in the US this fall.

Eagle Industries
Eagle has come a long way on their commercial line. The packs look very good and they are preparing to launch a softshell jacket.

Surefire
Surefire unveiled the Saint, their new headlamp. It is very slick and will accept either CR123 or AA batteries.

Darn Tough Vermont
Darn Tough has developed a full range family of socks for a military customer. They cover everything from PT to desert ops to arctic conditions.

Garmont
While the T4 addition to their line of tactical boots might still be a ways off, the new TXT (Tactical Cross Trainer), is a beefy, purpose built trail runner designed for military use.

Stanley
Stanley has released a new 8 oz flask.

Energizer
Most people don’t know that energizer manufactures their own line of flashlights. Even less well known is that they have developed a tactical flashlight. This new light is so packed with features that it is going a full write up very soon.

London Bridge Trading Reflective/IR ID Patches

LBT has been producing some very trick IR ID patches for military customers for some time now. We have not seen anything quite like this on a commercial level.

The patch is reversible and consists of a sandwich of several materials mounted to a stiffened backing. One side is solely IR reflective and the other combines Glow in the Dark alpha-numerics with an IR reflective cut out. They laser cut the ID’s alpha-numerics from the face fabric whether Cordura or IR tape. The outer edges of both sides are color matched hook tape so that the panel may be affixed to uniforms.

They are accustomed to producing small numbers of different panels and a variety of colors are available. This is a very much a custom product and LBT’s staff will work with you to give you the right combination for your application. Due to the high cost of raw materials LBT is willing to work with organizations that wish to supply their own materials. Contact LBT for more information.

Norotos Releases New Mount

Norotos just released the new AKA2 HMA mount, their latest in an evolutionary family of helmet mounts for Night Vision Goggles. The AKA2 was developed by Norotos using Internal R&D Dollars and not to satisfy a Government solicitation. Their goal was reduce NVG “wobble” to almost zero. The second goal was to develop a “universal” mount. As most of our readers know there are currently three types of mounts to attach NVGs to helmets: 1-hole, 3-Hole and Ratchet Strap. This will help control manufacturing costs and assist the end-user who may change Night Vision Systems during a rotation to theater.

Using two different sockets the AKA2 HMA mount is compatible with PVS-7 and PVS-14 as well as the PVS-15, PVS-18, and PVS-21. The sockets can be swapped out at the touch of a button. In addition to its versatility, the mount also features vertical adjustment, tilt adjustment, and eye relief.

The Universal Shroud can be fitted to a MICH/ACH, LWH, or CVC in three different ways:
1. Navy-style 3-hole
2. Army-style 1 hole
3. Optional ratchet strap
