Viridian Showcases Weapon-Mounted Camera at National Sheriffs’ Association Expo

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – June 22, 2021 – Viridian Weapon Technologies is showcasing the FACT Duty® Weapon-Mounted Camera (WMC®) at the annual National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) Conference and Exposition in Phoenix, Arizona from June 22-24, 2021. The conference will give law enforcement personnel an opportunity to see the capabilities of Viridian’s Weapon-Mounted Camera (WMC). Attendees are encouraged to visit Viridian at booth #922 on the main aisle to learn more.

“This is our fourth year at the NSA conference and we’re proud to have the opportunity to showcase the growing track-record of our Weapon-Mounted Camera,” said Viridian President and CEO Brian Hedeen. “The WMC automatically captures footage from the end of an officer’s firearm from the moment it comes out of the holster, and this additional footage has proven to be an essential evidentiary tool for understanding use of force events.”

The Viridian WMC

The highly advanced FACT Duty WMC employs a 1080p full-HD digital camera with a microphone and 500 lumen tactical light. This distinctive weapon-mounted camera provides a clear view of critical use-of-force events from the end of the firearm, addressing limitations officers can face with body cameras. Viridian’s proprietary INSTANT-ON® technology automatically activates the camera and microphone whenever the officer draws the firearm from its holster. Not only does this eliminate risk of failure to manually turn on the camera during a critical event, but it also keeps the officer from fumbling with cumbersome equipment. Body and dash cameras were not designed to capture officer-involved shootings. However, Viridian WMCs were designed specifically for this purpose.

New FN 303 Mk2 Answers the Call for Today’s Law Enforcement Officers

Thursday, June 17th, 2021

IMPROVING THE GLOBAL STANDARD OF LESS LETHAL TECHNOLOGY
(McLean, VA – June 17, 2021) After setting the global standard in less lethal technology with the original FN 303 system, FN America, LLC, the world leader in developing law enforcement technology and training, is pleased to announce the release of the FN 303® Mk2 Less Lethal Launcher. FN answered requests from law enforcement officers and agencies to make key improvements to service life and accuracy.

“From the first release of the FN 303 Less Lethal launcher in the early 2000s to the release of the Mk 2 variant today, FN has been at the forefront of the ever-changing landscape of policing, developing innovative solutions for officers and agencies,” said Charles “Bucky” Mills, Sr. Director, Law Enforcement and Federal Sales for FN America, LLC. “Updates in the FN 303 Mk2 include fully adjustable sights for ease of zeroing, and upgrades to the air operating system that double the service life of the launcher and reduce required maintenance.”

Built from lightweight, rugged polymer and driven by a compressed CO2 air tank, the FN 303 Mk2 upgrades FN’s less lethal technology for today’s officers, delivering pin-point accuracy out to 50-plus yards with new, adjustable flip up metal sights and a MIL-STD 1913 top rail for optical or red dot sights. The optimized operating system doubles the service life of the FN 303 Mk2, now allowing 5,000 projectiles to be fired before first routine maintenance is required thus reducing department armorer maintenance requirements.

The fin-stabilized, .68-caliber FN 303 projectiles deliver optimum accuracy with maximum effectiveness and safety. Officers can quickly change projectiles from inert, marking impact  or irritant projectiles. The clear rear magazine cover allows officers to verify the projectile type and remaining projectile count in the magazine.

CBP Purchases B&T USA GLO6 Less Lethal Launcher Systems

Monday, June 7th, 2021

US Customs and Border Protection, part of the US Department of Homeland Security is purchasing 150 B&T USA GL06 Less-Lethal Launchers. This is the latest B&T USA procurement by CBP, who has purchased a sizable number of APC9K-G submachine guns by leveraging the US Army Sub Compact Weapon contract. The vehicle contract was modified earlier this year to allow other agencies to purchase from it and to supply Glock and SIG compatible lower receiver groups.

The GL06 is a shoulder-fired less lethal system capable of firing a complete range of lethal and less-lethal 40x46mm munitions and impact rounds through its fully rifled bore — delivering unmatched accuracy at standoff distances out to, and beyond, 40 meters. The GL06 is claimed to be lighter and more compact than other stand-alone platforms of the same class, yet is capable of greater accuracy, has superior ergonomics and offers a greater flexibility in munition selection to include the company’s own SIR and SIR-X (Safe Impact Rounds).

CBP GL06s will be delivered as configured from B&T USA, fitted with Aimpoint Micro TL optics, as well as their quick-detach optic mounts and vertical forward grips.
