Rapid Equipping Force – Enhanced Speed Bag System

Tuesday, February 10th, 2015

The Rapid Equipping Force worked with material developers Product Director Joint Service, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) and Natick Soldier Research Development Engineering Center (NSRDEC) engineers on the Enhanced Speed Bag System.

The ESBS is designed to rapidly resupply ground troops via low altitude helo drop. The system consists of a hands free linear brake, rope and padded bag.

Normally, when supplies are kicked from a helo, upwards of 50% of are destroyed upon impact. With ESBS the brake automatically applies friction to the rope orienting the bag with the padded base down. This means you only have to pad the bottom of the bag and in testing, only about 10% of supplies are damaged.

In addition to increased survivability of critical supplies such as ammunition, food, water and medical hear, ESBS standardizes helo resupply equipment and procedures.

TwinNeedle is an outdoor and tactical gear manufacturing company located in New Zealand. They’ve recently announced the addition of three new products to their tactical line:

1Belt Skins

Belt Skins are designed to work with any existing riggers belt. They consist of a Cordura sleeve with Velcro Loop back, quad folded Cordura PALS rows, and an optional airmesh pad. The intended use is for a lightly loaded pistol belt. Available in Med – 8 columns, Large – 11 columns, and X-Large – 14 columns. Available colorways: A-TACS, Coyote Brown, Kryptek, and MultiCam.

3Putties

Putties are a shorter, lighter variant of the gaiter. They’re made of 500D Cordura. The design offers increased mobility over a full gaiter, yet still mitigates debris from entering the top of the boot. Available colorways: A-TACS, Coyote Brown, Kryptek, and MultiCam.

2PTT Offsets

PTT Offsets are an accessory which offsets a PTT on a plate carrier, which frees up space on the carrier and doesn’t impede magazine changes. Available colorways: Black, Coyote Brown, and MultiCam.
