EPIC Shoot 2020 – Unity Runners Clutch Belt by Vertx

Friday, November 13th, 2020

Vertx has expanded their Clutch Belt line with a Runner’s model.

It features three cells made from two-way stretch with Hypalon wings. Either of the larger cells will fit most pistols or radios. The middle cell fits a magazine, TQ, or similar. Note, the cells are different sized than the full belt so some accessories won’t work with the Runner’s model. However, it does come with 3 sticky-sided hook strips for securing tools and accessories inside the cells.

Offered in It’s Black and Ash Grey with an adjustable webbing waist strap that closes via a G-hook.

I tried it on and didn’t have enough girdle for it to sit in front while moving around. You’ll probably want to cant it off to the side. It did however, fit nicely under my light jacket.

Sneak Peek – Road Tripper from Mystery Ranch

Monday, November 9th, 2020

The Road Tripper is a new product, developed specifically for Law Enforcement use by Mystery Ranch.

It’s meant to transport the various equipment an LEO uses during shift, yet keep it readily available, by placing it in the passenger seat. It can be kept zipped closed or open.

During a recent visit to MR, I mocked up some bag contents to give you an idea of how it works.

It attaches to the passenger seat via two points. First, there are two pass through webbing loops located at the rear for the seat belt. Second is the internal top handle which is routed around the head rest. Use this feature when you want to keep the Road Tripper open for access to the contents.

It is lined with loop Velcro and includes three removable/adjustable dividers for organizing your gear, allowing you to set it up how you need it.

The lid is also lined with loop Velcro in a PALS compatible grid and there is an additional full-length zippered internal pocket for documents or to store the dividers when not in use.

At the front there are two, full-length external zippered accessory pockets with flaps that fold down allowing complete access to internal, mesh divider pockets.

Additionally, there are two external stretch-woven water bottle pockets. On the opposite side is a zippered pocket with four mesh dividers (donuts not included).

Offered in Shadow, it is made from 500D Cordura with internal foam to protect the contents and give it some body so it won’t flop over.

Coming 2021. Interested parties should contact Marisa Williams at marisa@mysteryranch.com

Watershed Waterproof Utility Pouches

Friday, November 6th, 2020

Watershed makes a wide variety of dry bags for recreational, industrial and military use. These are three of their utility pouches which are offered as part of their Maritime Backpack Suite. They include the Swimmer’s Utility Bag, Manpack Radio Bag, and Waterproof Individual Pouch.

The SUB is designed to carry the M53 protective mask or a similar sized item. The WIP accommodates a MK48 box mag, IFAK, or similar items. The Radio Bag will fit the AN/PRC-117G and accessories.

Regardless of size and intended use, they all have several design features in common. Watershed bags are made from abrasion resistant polyurethane coated fabric with seams sealed via RF welding. They also use a YKK Aquaseal waterproof zipper, and oral inflate/deflate valve with cover.

There is also a PALS compatible mounting system as well as both horizontal and vertical belt loops. Drainage points are also built-in at the ashes of the mounting system. There’s also a laser cut retainer for the T-shaped zipper pull so it doesn’t inadvertently open if caught on something.

These bags are all Berry compliant and available for sale to government customers, regardless of stock notices on the website.

Varusteleka – Särmä TST LW18 Chest Rig

Monday, November 2nd, 2020

Varusteleka’s Särmä TST LW18 Chest Rig is a skeletonized, PALS compatible platform made from sewn 25mm nylon webbing. The shoulder straps are wider at 50mm.

If you’re wondering why it’s four rows high, that’s because the Finns use longer, AK-style magazines for their RK rifles. They need a little more real estate.

S.O.C.P® Sling Expands Collaborative Line

Cincinnati, Ohio – Vertx®, a leading manufacturer of low-profile tactical apparel and accessories, is excited to announce the launch of the S.O.C.P® Sling. Preceded by the S.O.C.P® Insert Panel, the sling is the second product to launch in collaboration with Greg Thompson, the founder of the Special Operations Combatives Program (S.O.C.P®). The sling is available in three colorways, It’s Black, Canopy Green/Galaxy Black and Smoke Grey/Galaxy Black, and is now for sale on online at vertx.com and in store. Customers can find a dealer near them using the Vertx® store locator at vertx.com/store-locator.

Founded by Greg Thompson, S.O.C.P® is an ever-evolving, individualized training program built to adapt to the changing requirements operators face when it comes to their environment, mission and gear. Over the last 20 years, Greg has trained specialized units within local law enforcement, the US military and federal government and since 2010 S.O.C.P® has been one of two programs of record for the U.S. Army.

“At Vertx® we’re always listening to our customer’s feedback and adapting our product to fit the industry’s dynamic needs,” said Denny Bogard, GM/VP of Vertx. “Greg does the same with S.O.C.P® and together we’ve built a versatile, low-profile product that can handle the challenges our customers face every day.”

While it may be written-off by the everyday passerby as an ordinary waist pack, the S.O.C.P® sling is full of tactical features that make it the covert operator’s ultimate companion. The adjustable cellphone compartment can be used as a NAV board and its innocuous exterior flaps fold down to reveal your camera for surveillance applications. In more intense scenarios, it’s internal coin pocket can be converted to an SAP and it’s internal pouch expands to store confiscated items. Equipped with dual-purpose metal attachment clips, the sling can quickly transition from waist carry to attachment on a pack strap. The sling’s hidden rapid access pocket provides a discreet place to store defense tools like the S.O.C.P® Dagger when chaos comes calling.
