B.E. Meyers’ Modular Advanced Weapon Laser (MAWL), a high power infrared and visible green aiming and illumination laser for individual carbines, offers improved ergonomics, interface, and performance. The MAWL-DA has been designed from the ground up around the evolved needs of the modern night fighter and is currently in use and deployed on operations with both Tier 1 Special Forces, and internal security agencies in the U.S., Europe, and other nations.

The LA-22/U (formerly known as the GLARE RECOIL), was selected by MARCORSYSCOM as the sole source Hail and Warning device for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Ocular Interruption Systems (OIS) program. It features B.E. Meyers’ patented SmartRange™ technology that utilizes laser range finding and near-field detection to self-regulate power output. The result is controlled EyeSafe™ irradiance in addition to maximum permissible exposure on target. B.E. Meyers & Co. also offers a class 1M variant of the LA-22/U, the GLARE HELIOS.

Also displayed at the SCOPEX exhibit will be the IZLID series of lasers for Pointing and Illumination, including the IZLID Ultra. The IZLID Ultra is currently the standard for JTAC use. Milipol 2017, Paris, France, November 21-24, Stand G-025

November 16, 2017. Meprolight Ltd. – a member of the SK Group and a leading manufacturer of electro-optical systems, thermal and night vision equipment, self-illuminated sights, and Laser Range Finder systems for military, law enforcement and civil applications – launches the unique MEPRO NYX-200 multi-spectral weapon sight and hand-held device, combining an uncooled thermal channel with a sensitive high-resolution digital day/night camera, at Milipol 2017. This sight improves the soldier’s situational awareness, and allows rapid target acquisition in any lighting conditions and in any environment.

According to Assaf Shimron, CEO of Meprolight, “Modern battlefield challenges force soldiers to carry an expanding array of systems, sensors, and equipment. The weight of this equipment and the need to operate a variety of devices reduces mission effectiveness and may compromise soldier safety. To solve these issues and improve the modern soldier’s operation, we developed the MEPRO NYX-200.”

9F380EDF-6515-4DD3-8510-BA1D2AF9BB96

“The MEPRO NYX-200 is a lightweight, all-in-one weapon sight that includes a thermal imaging channel and day/night sensitive camera, integrated DVR and IR pointer,” Mr. Shimron continued. “This solution replaces at least four (4) different systems currently carried by the average soldier. It allows ongoing work, 24/7, in all environments and weather conditions – meeting the demands of the modern battlefield and increasing mission effectiveness.”

The MEPRO NYX-200 is available in two configurations: thermal channel with digital night camera or thermal channel with digital day camera. The combination of thermal channel and digital night camera (DNC) enables enhanced situational awareness with maximum view at any level of darkness in any environment. The thermal channel can be used in total darkness and through fog, camouflage, etc. The sight’s digital night vision is optimized for Close Quarters Battle (CQB), face recognition, and more.

The combination of thermal channel and digital day camera (DDC) enables the soldiers to use the sight for both day and night operation, eliminating the need to change sights/devices between day and night, and allowing soldiers to move between dark and light environments, such as entering dark places also during daytime.

Long operation time based on four (4) commercially available batteries enables soldiers to complete missions without power failure. The integrated IR pointer supports various tactical scenarios including CQB and covert night operations. Using integrated DVR enables image capture and video recording and transmitting for mission debriefing. MEPRO NYX-200 was designed and fabricated to the most stringent military standards, including MIL-810, to assure years of reliable operation under all field and environmental conditions.

Milipol Paris 2017, Paris, France, November 21-24, Stand G-025

November 15, 2017. Meprolight Ltd. – a member of the SK Group and a leading manufacturer of electro-optical systems, thermal and night vision equipment, self-illuminated sights, and Laser Range Finder systems for military, law enforcement and civil applications – presents a new version of the X3 magnifying scope. The MEPRO MX3-T features a new adapter that enables quick switching between short and long distances, for rapid target acquisition.

According to Benny Kokia, VP Marketing and Sales, “We developed the new adapter as a result of our close collaboration with Special Forces units both in Israel and overseas. The MEPRO MX3-T is equipped with a unique pull back mechanism that surpasses those of any other tactical solution available in the market. The MX3-T enables swift target acquisition, significantly improving results in the field.”

The MEPRO MX3-T is a compact, lightweight, and rugged magnifying scope with a wide Field of View – designed to accurately and economically improve the shooter’s performance. This new scope has 3x magnification to enhance the precision, range, and effectiveness of reflex sights, such as MEPRO 21 and MEPRO MOR, by extending the shooting range without re-zeroing the sights.

The MEPRO MX3-T attaches to any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, behind a reflex sight, and features a quick release adapter. The adapter has a low weight, quick pull back mechanism. When not in use, it is folded over to the right side and can be easily flipped back into place when the shooter needs to engage targets at longer distances. It is simple to attach, doesn’t interfere with firing, and is MIL-STD-810 qualified.

Milipol – Gallet Accessory Rail Combat Helmet

Tuesday, November 24th, 2015

I took a few shots of the Gallet Accessory Rail Combat Helmet originally released at Milipol 2013. The designations are official designations of this line of helmets are the Gallet TC 800 series and Gallet TC 500 series. Some readers may not know this but the MICH was originally a Gallet design and the French company was purchased by MSA.

The rails feature proprietary 360° rotating buckles on the front and lower back (three slots on each rail). Additionally, the removable “V” shaped, ratchet-style shroud clamps under the front brim of the shell, and bolts unto each of the upper portions of the side rails in the back. On top of the actual NVG interface (USGI/Wilcox compatible), between the two “V” branches, they’ve added bungee ties that go all the way to the top, in order to secure strobes and other non-railed accessories.

In these photos you can see how the oxygen mask attaches to the rail.  The Minie Night Vision Device is from Thales Angenieux.

Specifically, the helmet models are 800/801/802 (first digit is shell thickness in millimeters, last is cut style), the fourth model released is the 501 (same naming convention applies). The 501 is the thinnest Gallet helmet available that still retains a frag rating. Interestingly, there is only one shell size and different head sizes are accommodated via pads.

The line of ARCH is offered in NATO Green, Black, Tan.
