Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019

The Beast Pack Board solves countless carrying needs ranging from ammunition and weapons through containers and bulky items to oddly shaped burdens not easily fitted into a regular backpack.

Featuring the same proven and sturdy carrying harness as the classic Snigel 90/120 Litre Backpack, the Beast Pack Board will stand up to heavy loads while still being ergonomic, comfortable and fast to handle.

The Pack Board is developed with tactical considerations in mind and is excellent for burdens such as e.g. 84mm munition cases, 60mm and 81mm mortars. There is a dedicated bottom hole for wider barrel ends securing the burden centered and close to the carrier. The inside of the pack board flap is protected by Hypalon™ CSM, rendering a tough lining also resistant to chemicals, temperature extremes, and ultraviolet light.

Each Pack Board is delivered with a set of long, sturdy straps to cover almost any need conceivable. In addition there are PALS/MOLLE webbings all over the Pack Board and the belt, where straps, pouches and packs will further extend the versatility of this excellent carrier.

Brigantes Presents – High Angled Solutions – The Nordic Pocket Saw

Wednesday, March 27th, 2019

An active outdoor lifestyle and enjoying all that the outdoors has to offer, requires products developed for harsh conditions.

New for 2019, The Nordic Pocket Saw has added the premium Edition to its saw repertoire, where its handles and case are hand made in Sweden and the leather is 100% Swedish and Organic.

It is low weight, high packability and raw power. That is what signifies Nordic Pocket Saw and makes it an essential companion for your outdoor adventures. It can be held in your fist and weighs in at just 132g. The chain is made from heat treated high carbon steel which is ideal for blades and specially developed for resilience under harsh conditions. This saw chain isn’t like a normal powered chainsaw chain, with all the teeth pointing in the same direction, this has teeth pointing both ways so that you cut in both directions, making this a tool that cuts and clears the material at the same time so the cut and saw stays clean.

If you are looking for a tool to stand the test of the rugged Nordic outdoors, the Nordic Pocket Saw is compact, lightweight, solidly made wood cutting tool, with straight forward design and function which makes it an ideal choice for military and woodsmen alike.

Brigantes Presents – High Angled Solutions – Helix Tactical Training

Wednesday, March 20th, 2019

Helix understand that first class equipment is only one part of the equation and that without a trained operator or user it is unlikely to be utilised to its full potential.

This year, Helix Training are delivering a number of RoSPA approved, open three-day PPE courses. These courses are designed to qualify an individual as a PPE inspector with an understanding of the following:

• Health and safety regulations related to the choice, purchase and use of PPE and work equipment.

• Responsibilities for the inspection of PPE prior to, during and after use including management systems.

• Practical skills providing the user with the ability to identify damage and defects, and the procedures to retire damaged or obsolete items.

• How the above relate to government and military organisations and activities both within the UK and overseas whether conducting training, operations or adventure training.

The course is assessed with both a written and practical exam on the final day. On successful completion of the course, the qualification is valid for three years.

They have scheduled a number of non-residential open courses for 2019, which are delivered from our office in Llanberis. Helix are able to deliver closed courses internationally.

During Enforce Tac we saw the new Evac System from Petzl. Based on the Exo Escape System used by the German fire service, Evac was created for use by diplomats who might need to exit structures quickly to escape fires or other threats.

The contents are contained in the Pouch seen at the top and include the EXO one-handed descender which allows the user to control the rate of descent.

Also in the is 15m of 7.5mm rope, two locking carabiners and this harness which the user steps into.

The three straps are brought together and a locking carabiner is run through the loops to hold it all together.

The second carabiner is used to anchor to a hard point in the room which needs to be evacuated. The system has been tested to 150 kg.

Brigantes Presents – High Angled Solutions – Acapulka 1.35 Expedition Tour Pulk

Wednesday, March 13th, 2019

The ET 135 is the result of several years of R & D involving designers, builders, and experienced users. The R & D process has paid off with new Delta Wings that increase transverse stability and load capacity without significant sacrifices in friction or steering properties.  This makes the ET 135 excellent in the difficult terrain of the arctic circle during winter deployments.

With the load capacity matching sledges from 150-160 cm, it’s still easy to get the ET 135 to an expeditions launch point due to the fact that it’s a shorter pulk. It has Acapulka’s unique low friction runner system called STSR.  (Side Track Stabilizing Rail) which provides extraordinary glide with excellent side track and balance. As with all successful sledges, the ET 135 has a high rounded front section that helps it stay on top of deep snow.

The tough cover of the ET 135 is of top quality CORDURA. This makes the Acapulka ET 135 strong, water resistant and repellent, which is perfect for the harsh, unpredictable weather conditions of the Arctic, Antarctic and Greenland. What’s more the straps and D-rings holding your supplies are fastened directly to the hull of the sledge with solid rivets, not just sewn on the cover ensure kit is kept safe.

The extensive research and innovations made with all Acapulka pulks, is what makes them the complete solution to carry supplies during expeditions and winter deployments. For more information contact,
