XS Sights Introduces Standard Dot Night Sights for Taurus 856 and 605 Revolvers

Thursday, April 20th, 2023

Fort Worth, Texas (April 18, 2023) – Owners of Taurus 856 and 605 revolvers who want to improve their shooting performance can now upgrade to XS’s Standard Dot Night Sights. Designed for personal defense, Standard Dot sights feature a tritium powered front sight surrounded by a photoluminescent orange or green Glow Dot that absorbs ambient light and glows in low light to provide dual illumination. The convex dot’s additional surface area increases light absorption, intensifying the charge of the Glow Dot. The high visibility sight aids faster and more accurate target acquisition, especially for those with aging eyes or deteriorating vision.

“Our night sights are bright and easy to see, day or night, which provides significant advantages in personal defense situations,” said Addison Monroe, Marketing Manager, XS Sights. “The increased visibility gained by upgrading from factory sights to XS Standard Dot sights makes it easier to get on target faster, and the sights are really easy to install at home.”

XS Standard Dot sights for the Taurus 856 and 605 revolvers fit guns with a factory pinned in front sight. The XS replacement sight is pre-drilled for the retention pin, making DIY installation at home simple.

XS Sights are CNC machined from solid steel bar stock at XS Sights’ in-house machine shop in Fort, Worth Texas. The company designs, machines, and does its own tritium insertion to ensure the highest-quality American-Made products.

SIG SAUER Electro-Optics Introduces the Next Revolution in Red-Dot Optics: THE ROMEO-M17

Friday, April 14th, 2023

NEWINGTON, N.H., (April 14, 2023) – SIG SAUER Electro-Optics is proud to introduce the ROMEO-M17 pistol mounted red dot sight.  Developed from the ground up for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System to be the ultimate in performance, reliability and durability.  The ROMEO-M17 is designed specifically to fit U.S. Military Modular Handgun System M17/M18 pistols, M17/M18 Commemorative Special Editions and M17/M18 Surplus pistols with a single hole in the slide to secure the sight plate.  It does not fit standard P320 or commercial P320-M17/M18 slides.  Commercial variations of compatible pistols and slides will be available in the coming months.

“The fully sealed ROMEO-M17 is the next revolution in red dot optics; it answers the call to withstand the rigors of the battlefield and works seamlessly with the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System,” said Andy York, President, SIG SAUER Electro-Optics. “The ROMEO-M17 is the first red dot sight to incorporate SIG SAUER’s patent pending SIG-LOC™ mounting system.  SIG-LOC (Leveraged Optimized Connection) features a new proprietary bottom-mount technology that has multiple interface features between the pistol slide and the optic that provides for an extremely strong and robust lock-up.  This new mounting system, when combined with the side mounted battery on the ROMEO-M17, allows the optic to have an extremely low position when mounted to the slide, giving the user a full sight picture and co-witness with the existing standard-height iron sights.  This sight was engineered, tested, and built in Oregon to be the ultimate aiming solution for the MHS pistols.”

The SIG SAUER Electro-Optics ROMEO-M17 is a mil-spec, fully enclosed and gas-purged red dot reflex sight with a distortion-free glass aspheric lens, and is submersible to depths up to 35 meters.  Other features include a new and very robust flexure-arm adjustment system made of the same Beryllium Copper found in many riflescope designs, and a housing that is forged and machined from 7075 Aluminum with an integrated loaded chamber indicator (LCI) gas deflector and machined anti-reflection grooves on all rear facing surfaces for reduced glare.  The optic incorporates a high-efficiency point source red LED emitter, with 2 MOA dot/32 MOA circle reticle, independent brightness adjustment buttons, 15 brightness settings including night vision settings, and a side-mounted CR2032 battery compartment with a threaded battery cap so the optic does not need to be removed from the pistol for battery changes.  The ROMEO-M17 has a minimum continuous runtime of 50,000 hours at medium brightness setting, and utilizes MOTAC™ (Motion Activated Illumination), MAGNETAC™ (Magnetic Activation), and D.A.R.C™ (Dark Adaptive Reticles & Coatings) technologies.

“The ROMEO-M17 is the pinnacle of pistol-mounted red dot optics, and we are immensely proud that it has been tested and selected to receive a NATO Stock Number (NSN) from the U.S. Army so this innovative technology and ruggedized performance is easily attainable and available to our warfighters,” concluded York.

The SIG SAUER Electro-Optics ROMEO-M17 is designed, developed, tested and fully assembled in the U.S.A.

Nightforce Optics Introduces NEW MOA-XT Reticle

Friday, April 14th, 2023

Orofino, ID, U.S. – (April 14, 2023) Nightforce Optics is excited to announce the latest in Minute of Angle (MOA) reticles, the MOA-XT. The MOA-XT is designed to provide the same shooting experience as Nightforce’s popular MIL-XT reticle.

Many MOA reticles lack common features of modern milliradian (MRAD) based reticles. The MOA-XT provides a grid of holdover points below the main stadia, allowing shooters to compensate for both windage and elevation. The floating center dot provides a fine aiming point for precise shots. The main stadia includes 1 MOA marks with labels every 2 MOA to ensure clear shooting references in hasty or stressful engagements. The grid consists of an array of horizontal dots that are broken up by a bold dot every 4 MOA for fast counting. Throughout the reticle, reference numbers are alternated in size to provide confidence and speed of engagement at any magnification. In combination, these features allow for faster long-range shooting and more precise holds.

“Over the last few years, improvements in the precision of hunting firearms and ammunition and the growth of shooting disciplines like NRL Hunter created a need for reticles with improved holdover shooting capability. Our goal was to give MOA shooters all the features required for these new shooting challenges, without switching to an MRAD reticle. The MOA-XT reticle brings the holdover capabilities and intuitive labeling of our most popular MRAD reticle for field shooting, the MIL-XT, while maintaining MOA graduations. .” said Chad Van Brunt, the Director of Marketing and Product Management for Nightforce Optics.

The MOA-XT reticle is Nightforce’s solution for hunters, competitors, and all shooters who require the versatility of a holdover-style reticle and prefer a minute of angle scope. Riflescopes are available in the following models.

– ATACRTM 7-35×56 F1

– ATACRTM 5-25×56 F1

– ATACRTM 4-20×50 F1

– ATACRTM 4-16×42 F1

– NX8TM 4-32×50 F1

– NX8TM 2.5-20×50 F1

Langdon Tactical Expands RDO Solution for Beretta 92 Pistols at NRAAM Indianapolis

Thursday, April 13th, 2023

(Indianapolis, IN) – Langdon Tactical is proud to announce the expansion of their standard-setting RDO mounting solution for the Beretta 92 to include nearly all Beretta 92 models built since 1982.

Previously, only 92 pistols with Vertec slides (Elite LTT, 92X, M9A3, etc) could be cut for the LTT Red Dot Optic (RDO) solution. The Gungineering team at LTT, led by Ernest Langdon, now has an RDO solution for the 92X Performance, Brigadier, 92FS, 92D, including Beretta’s newest additions, the M9A4, 92XI and other Beretta-production RDO models.

“After the introduction and subsequent success of our original 92 RDO solution in July 2020, we immediately realized this solution was needed for other 92 models” says Ernest Langdon, President of LTT “my team and I sharpened our pencils and got to work developing the LTT RDO solution for the wide variety of different 92 models on the market, for an optic cut as low or lower than most direct milled striker systems”

LTT’s RDO Solution is a true LOW RDO cut with a dot height above the center of the bore of just .85″ (when paired with a Trijicon RMR).

Introduced in 2020, the critically acclaimed (Garand Thumb, Sage Dynamics, 1911 Syndicate) LTT RDO solution has evolved to also include both the Beretta PX4 and the HK P30 series of pistols, also offered by Langdon.

In 2022, the LTT RDO cut for 92 pistols was approved by the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department for duty use by individual officers, following an intensive testing and evaluation by the LASD training staff.

Thursday, April 13th, 2023

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – April 12, 2023 – Bushnell®, an industry leader in performance optics, congratulates pro shooter KC Eusebio for his recent win at the U.S. Steel Nationals, which took place in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Eusebio took first place in the Open Division and First Overall using the new Bushnell RXM-300 Reflex Sight.

Eusebio, who worked with Bushnell on the design of the RXM-300, was successful in winning his first major match of the year using the new reflex sight. With its extra-large lens, multiple intensity adjustments and robust housing, the RXM-300 is perfectly suited for the fast-paced style of the steel shooting competition.

“Being able to win a national championship so early in the year is a fantastic feeling,” Eusebio said. “Add to it, winning for the first time with the new Bushnell red dot makes this title even better.”

Introduced earlier this year, the RXM-300 is a versatile, large lens, 4 MOA red dot with optimized hood geometry for faster target acquisition and shot follow-up without sacrificing durability. That not only makes it the perfect competition sight for pro shooters like Eusebio, but also makes it a great option for carry, home defense and hunting.

“The RXM-300 did its job and performed at the highest level,” added Eusebio. “I’m so very proud of this new dot that I can’t stop sharing it with anyone who shoots or competes. By far, my favorite features are the unbelievable field of view it offers, the 12 brightness settings and the incredibly durable housing.”
