ORSWM 20 – XGO Extreme Hot Weather Air Commando Baselayers

XGO‘s new Air Commando baselayer garments are engineered for Extreme Hot Weather, yet offer FR protection as well as Acclimate Dry moisture management and AG47 Silver anti-microbial. The fabric itself is a Modacrylic and FR Rayon blend with a pill resistant, mesh knit.

The construction incorporates Clean Seam with for seams to avoid skin irritation and no seams on the shoulders.

Although these garments are FR, the fabric is extremely comfortable and many will want to wear them everyday. Aside from the softness of the fabric, the garments also offer XGO’s Advanced Cooling treatment which feels cool against the skin.

ORSWM 20 – Team Wendy M-216 Ski Helmet

Team Wendy introduced a new version of the M-216 Ski Helmet which doesn’t have the side rails. Otherwise, everything is the same; same fit, same protection.

This is more of a ski helmet than it’s SAR counterpart, but it also brings the price down below $200.

Features:
-A glass-reinforced polycarbonate shroud for attaching headlamps and cameras.
-A customized Boa® Fit System guarantees a precise fit adjustment with single handed quick release.
-Removable ear cups specifically designed to be comfortable while using in-ear communication systems and includes a pocket for drop-in audio device compatibility.
-14 Total Vents: Eight crown (adjustable), two front (passive open), four rear (fixed open) for maximum cooling during high exertion rescues.
-Eight adjustable crown vents with three positions (open, half open and closed) to accommodate both warm and cold conditions.
-Above-goggle vent channels draw air through the helmet to the rear exhaust ports to reduce goggle fogging.
-Integrated goggle strap retention.

ORSWM 20 – Herschel Supply Co Trail Collection

There’s generally a trend at each OR show, and this time it’s recycled fabrics. Everyone has them. In the case of Herschel, their new Trail collection of bags features 100% recycled materials. They also boast an interesting Camo pattern.

ORSWM 20 – Alpha Industries

As I walked around the Outdoor Retailer show floor, I ran across a booth that looked like a surplus store?.

It was Alpha Industries, longtime military clothing contractor.

If you’re looking for flight jacket, or an M65, or even a heavy duty N3B parka, they still make them and they’re available for commercial sale.

Designed to accommodate babies and toddlers up to 24 months, this 650 fill down bag features a central front zip and arms so baby won’t feel cocooned. There’s no hood, so you’ll need to cover baby’s noggin.

ORSWM 20 – Wild Things White Out Overwhites

Wild Things has introduced a new overwhite system called White Out.

Consisting of the White Out Overwhite Jacket and Pant, these 70D MultiCam Alpine shells are lightweight and pack into a small ball for storage. They are joined by helmet, pack and Knuckle Roaster covers.

The White Out Overwhite Jacket features full length pit zips which allow you to get to your equipment underneath.

Likewise, the White Out Overwhite Pant has full length side zips to facilitate donning and doffing as well as a two-way front relief zipper.

The two front zippered patch pockets are situated low enough that they are still accessible while wearing a climbing harness.

Finally, the instep at the lower hem is reinforced with double fabric to mitigate abrasion.

ORSWM 20 – Milkman Powdered Chocolate Milk

I’d never thought I’d say hat about powdered anything, but Milkman Powdered Milk tastes great.

It is available in regular and chocolate flavors, it offers a way to take milk with you, wherever you go. Just add water. The quart packages are shelf stable for one-year.

It is low-fat but a quart package of the chocolate offers 18g of protein per serving.
