New Products From Mystery Ranch

As announced via the Mystery Rants blog, Mystery Ranch is releasing two new bags: the Expandable 3-Way Briefcase and the Invader, both set for a Summer release.

Expandable 3-Way Briefcase

The Expandable 3-Way Briefcase integrates Mystery Ranch’s signature 3-Zip design with transformer-like functionality as a shoulder bag, briefcase, or, by deploying hidden shoulder straps, as a backpack. A side zippered compartment features an incased dedicated computer foam and will fit up to 17″ laptops. The main central zippered compartment has document pockets and loop Velcro for attaching additional accessories. A side tech zip opening has detail pockets for pens, pencils, and other side items.

Color options: Black, Coyote, and Woodland. Due to ship early June, 2014.

Invader Pack

The Invader is a smaller version of the popular Outsider bag, scaled down by roughly 20%. The shoulder strap is cushioned and adjustable, with a removable utility/cell phone pocket. The main compartment offers generous storage space, and a large lid pocket provides easy access to essential items. A detachable flat bag that mounts to the Velcro inside the lit is perfect for smaller items such as writing utensils.

Color Options: Black, Coyote, and Woodland/Black. Due to ship early June, 2014.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Non-Standard Non-Stocking Items

This week, we take a peek into a line of designs seldom seen outside of the organizations who commissioned them. These Non-Standard Non-Stocking items have been designed by FirstSpear at the request of Professional Users to meet a unique mission set. Occasionally, FirstSpear will make a few extra. Due to the specialized nature and limited production of these items, colors are limited.

Special Missions Pack

Developed for a FirstSpear professional user with specific mission requirements this packs main compartment has over 2700 cu in of interior space with two internal compression straps. Features include an internal rigid frame, high density foam padded waist belt and backpack straps, 5 external pockets, and large beavertail design, this pack can rapidly be deployed for a variety of mission sets.

Multi-Purpose Pack

Originally developed as a medical pack for a US Special Operations unit, this pack can easily be adapted for use as a range bag, E&E pack, or 1 day pack. Features include hydration compartment, padded shoulder straps, 5 external pockets and compression straps.

Discreet Weapons Case

Originally designed for the MP5, this 26”x11.5” (interior) case will easily accept most sub guns or any weapon less than 26”. This case features an exterior pocket, padded shoulder strap, and three 9mm sub gun mag pockets.

Oneiros Valley – USMC Pack Modification Kit

The Oneiros Valley USMC Pack Modification Kit is designed as an upgrade or repair kit for the FILBE pack. The kit consists of two components: the Top Buckle Adapters and the Quick Release Adapters.

The Top Buckle Adapters replace the existing load lifter buckles on the Shoulder Harness Assembly.

The Quick Release Adapters replace non-NIR-compliant and improperly sized quick release straps. The snap fasteners feature a NIR-compliant polymer cap, providing superior wear resistance and infrared reflectance over the standard enamel coating.

The Kit is made from solution-dyed nylon webbing, ITW Nexus hardware, NIR-compliant snap fastener, and T-90 nlon thread. Components can be purchased individually or as a complete package.

Available in Coyote Brown. Berry Amendment compliant.

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Communications Packs

In this week’s Friday Focus we’ll take a look at the FirstSpear Comms Packs.

Offered in two sizes, the packs are identical in features. The Medium sized model offers 980 cu in of capacity and the Large model is 1800 cu in capacity.

Based off of the popular Exigent Circumstance Pack, the Comm Pack offers a decidedly urban styling in order to help mask its true role. The zippered main compartment offers ample storage for a wide variety of communications devices or other equipment and the cable access ports are discreetly located. Inside, there’s a padded laptop sleeve and zippered mesh pocket.

The pack incorporates padded shoulder straps with QR buckles as well as a low profile, padded haul loop handle at the top of the pack. The mesh, padded back of the pack offers the distinctive FirstSpear logo stitched design but don’t worry, it’s going to be against your back while your wearing it. Each side of the pack features a mesh pocket for water bottles or other items. There is also an exterior, beavertail-style flap with dual zippered compartments for quick storage. Additionally, there is a flat zippered pocket at the front of the pack under the flap.

Berry Compliant and offered in Black, Blue/Silver, Ranger Green/Coyote and Ripstop Light Grey.

Arc’teryx LEAF Drypack 70 Video Is Now Live

A video detailing the Arc’teryx LEAF Drypack 70 has just been released.

Constructed from HT 725D Cordura nylon with polyurethane coating on both sides, the Drypack 70 is a 100% waterproof load carriage pack appropriate for maritime special operations. It features a C² suspension system with a laminate back panel, GridLock shoulder straps that adjust to custom width and height, and removable Load Transfer Disc that rotates freely to stabilize load on uneven terrain. The full alpine backpack carrying system, completely removable, greatly aids the user’s land mobility.

The RollTop closure and TIZIP master seal zipper provides a waterproof seal, and an oral inflation valve controls buoyancy. Top and bottom grab handles and a removable 1m tether makes the bag easy to manipulate and allows for towing, hauling, or carrying options.

Web Dominator webbing management keeps the Drypack streamlined. Two removable side compression enhances load management. The interior features white lining for aid in viewing contents during low light conditions.

GeigerRig/Spartan Race – Prototype Hydration Pack – Sneak Peak

Pressurized hydration pack company GeigerRig, in partnership with Spartan Race, is producing a Spartan Race-themed hydration pack. All that’s been shown of the new pack so far is the prototype model.

Made from 500D Cordura nylon, the Spartan Race hydration pack features an internal post-race mesh drying bag, fully closed pressure bulb, fully enclosed and protected spray valve, and heavy-duty external daisy chain.

The pack is designed for low profile and features a short torso length. An integrated lower-back hip belt is designed or weight dispersal and load stabilization, and the internal Guardian back frame is included for safety and stability.

Darley Defense Days – Tenzing Packs – Sneak Peak

Tenzing is Plano Hunting’s line of hunting packs and gear. While currently manufactured overseas, they are in the process of sourcing Berry compliant manufacturers and expanding into the tactical market. They’ve tested packs with select units and received excellent feedback for their carbon fiber frame packs. The carbon fiber frame has been tested to withstand upwards of 400 lbs without losing its integrity.

Along with solid colors, Tenzing is also testing camouflage options, including Kryptek patterns. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
