Colt Announces the New Cobra Double-Action Revolver

Sunday, May 7th, 2017

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (May 5, 2017) – Colt, historic manufacturer of what many have heralded as the finest double-action revolvers ever made, is excited to announce its re-entry into the market with the release of the Cobra®. The all stainless steel small frame revolver features the classic lines of a traditional Colt double-action revolver, along with some great upgrades and modernizations, including Colt’s new LL2™ (Linear Leaf spring, version 2) trigger spring which offers a premium trigger pull experience without the need for hand-fitting.

“The bar was set so high,” said Paul Spitale, SVP for Colt, referring to the legacy of fine double-action revolvers in Colt’s history. “And the team in Colt’s Innovation Center really knocked this one out of the park. The grip was moved rearward to not only allow for more comfort and recoil control, but this also opened up the trigger guard area to allow for a flatter, more intuitive feeling trigger, as well as easy use with gloved hands. The trigger pull is phenomenal. The feel of this trigger both in the hand and when measured by a computer is very favorable to, and some might say better than, the triggers in Colt’s legacy double-action revolvers.”

The Cobra® was designed for concealed carry, with its 2” barrel and .38 Special chambering. “To offer new shooters a rewarding experience, we focused on the manageable .38 Special round,” said Spitale. “We want folks to be equally comfortable carrying this great firearm for defense and enjoying it at the range with family and friends.”

The new Cobra® is available in .38 Special (+P capable), has a six round capacity, and features a 2” barrel, all stainless steel construction to aid in recoil mitigation, and a Colt branded rubber grip. The Cobra® also features a user-upgradable fiber optic front sight. The sight can be easily swapped by the user to the available aftermarket tritium night sight. The Cobra® is now shipping; it has a SKU of COBRA-SM2FO, and an MSRP of $699.

GunfightersINC releases new Solace Hybrid IWB Holster

Friday, May 5th, 2017

For Immediate Release:

GunfightersINC releases new Solace Hybrid IWB Holster

1

After years of requests from customers to build a Hybrid IWB Holster, we decided to put a new spin on it. Traditionally Hybrid IWB holsters suffer from excessive bulk and subpar retention. The Solace has tried to address both those issues through some unique design features.

Safe, Consistent Retention
The Solace IWB is designed to fully enclose the trigger guard of your firearm in Kydex, front and back. This is achieved through an inner retention tab that allows the firearm’s trigger guard to float in Kydex. This means the gun is securely retained and will not easily fall out of the holster.

The retention doesn’t change regardless of tension on the leather. This allows the holster to have the crisp snap characteristics that all other GunfightersINC products have. This eliminates the mushy and sticky feelings that many other Hybrid Holsters display.

It also means that there is zero gap around the trigger guard, preventing any foreign objects from contacting the trigger inadvertently.

2

Daily Comfort
The Solace is backed with a hand beveled 7oz American barrel dyed full grain cowhide. The leather is hand beveled and burnished for a smooth, comfortable backer finish. This leather will withstand years of sweat and wear. Leather backer is slightly oversized to the Kydex shell to eliminate the possibility of Kydex edges contacting the skin and causing discomfort.

Using CAD design we have biased the firearm to the front of the Kydex shell. This eliminates pressure points against the hip and makes for a smooth, bulge free profile against the skin. This also helps with maintain a consistent draw pressure, regardless of belt tension.

Compact Form Factor
The Solace was designed to be as low-profile and unobtrusive as possible. Unlike most hybrid holsters, the Solace has a footprint not much larger than the firearm, more in line with a “taco IWB” style Holster, like our Wraith IWB. We have shrunk the holster down to the smallest size possible, leveraging our ability to build our own CNC molds, allowing us to hold the tightest tolerances to the gun as possible.

3

Excellent Concealment
Either in the Appendix or 5 O’clock, the Solace is contoured to hold the firearm as close to the body as possible and minimize printing at all angles. Careful attention is placed on angling the grip of the gun so that it is pulled tightly into the body to reduce printing.

Available for Pre-Order now:
The Solace Hybrid IWB is available for many popular pistols at an introductory price of $52.00. gunfightersinc.com/shop/solace-iwb-holster-preorder

Brownells Honors “FedEx Guy” With All American Dream Gun

Matt Uhrin - American Dream Gun

Matt Uhrin (left) holds the All American Dream Gun presented to him by Pete Brownell (right).

ATLANTA, Georgia (May 2, 2017) – Brownells’ NRA Annual Meeting & Exhibits special guest Matt Uhrin – also known as the famous flag-saving “FedEx Guy” – was honored by Brownells CEO Pete Brownell during a presentation in the Brownells booth on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

Uhrin, an Iowa City, Iowa-area package delivery man, was recognized for his patriotism and courageous actions for intervening in a late-January 2017 protest where demonstrators were preparing to burn American flags. A U.S. Army combat veteran, Uhrin, who had sent fallen brothers and sisters home from the Mid-East under America’s symbol of freedom rushed into the crowd of protestors, bravely saving three American flags.

In recognition of his actions, Brownells CEO Pete Brownell presented Uhrin with the one-of-a-kind Brownells/Smith & Wesson® All American Dream Gun®. The firearm is a highly-customized Smith & Wesson M&P® M2.0™ 9mm pistol and features, most appropriately, an American Flag paint scheme.

“Matt is a shining example of a patriot, local hero and a real American,” said Brownell. “Too many times we see indifference in society; it’s just great to see someone bold enough to do the right thing. I want to thank Matt for his service to our country both at home and abroad and I’m proud to give him this fantastic firearm.”

Considering PBE just announced a merger with First Tactical, this is some very big news. Looks like someone is working to rival Safariland as the one-stop shop.
