Three, maybe four different uniforms and all from one Wing. And unless the guy who is mostly hidden is wearing a Flight Suit, the ABU is the only authorized uniform there. Gotta love the SERE Specialist in his Crye Precision field uniform tho. He gets an ‘A’ for effort.

These are members of the 375th Wing going through Combat (in some units Continuation) Survival Training at the Illinois Army National Guard’s Sparta Training Area. Go check out the AF News article. It’s a lot better than the photos.

Hosted by Navy SEAL and HMFIC at Reaper Outdoors, Master Chief Ron “Reaper01” Bellan, “Survive the Hunt” takes on big game hunting, outdoor living and survival in a new way; from the perspective of the seasoned combat veteran.

The Survivor Split

Monday, March 19th, 2012

Every Third Thursday Signal Snowboards builds a new creation. This past week, it was the Survivor Split, definitely a snowboard fit for the likes of 007.

It separates into two individual skis for traversing flat snow-covered surfaces and also has a third-section that can be used as a long-handled shovel for digging. But it’s about more than just mobility. Signal secreted a saw blade into one of the skis. They’ve also added a strip of flint along one edge for fire starting.

“Doomsday Preppers” the Real Dirttime Story

Saturday, March 17th, 2012

Dirt Time‘s Christopher Nyerges, speaks with colleagues Dude McLean and Alan Halcon about his role in the National Geographic show “Doomsday Preppers.” I like the show but it’s good to hear about the drama that is injected into the vignettes. The show’s producers sure do a good job of making people look silly.
