Emissary Development’s Alternator addresses some of the shortcomings of using two illumination and/or laser aiming devices at the same time.
The design of the Alternator is simply a housing that clamps over two existing Unity Modbutton Lite switches. It has its own actuation surface that sits above the switches and features three pads that use different textures and their own unique angle to make it easier to differentiate each pad from another.
The forward and rearward pads fire off the switch directly underneath them but the middle pad will activate both switches simultaneously.
It also features a fully fenced off body that helps prevent accidental activation of the switches.
They plan to offer two different versions, a “standard fence” and a “raised fence” variant.
The standard fence has the activation buttons flush with the surrounding protective barrier (designed to prevent unwanted activation) of the housing. This will be the most comfortable and lowest profile version.
The raised fence, as it’s name implies, has a slightly raised protective barrier for those looking for a bit more added insurance against the possibility of unwanted activation of the buttons. Keep in mind this model stands slightly taller on the rail that the standard model.
Both versions are designed to prevent AD/NDs so while there really isn’t a massive difference between them they wanted to offer options that the end user can select which model fits their needs best.
LOS ANGELES, July 11, 2023 — OKSI has been awarded a $2 million follow-on contract from USSOCOM to finalize their Precision Guidance Kit (PGK) for the 81mm mortar round. The screw on 81mm PGK will allow warfighters to precisely guide mortars onto the desired impact point or predesignated target. The mortar’s guidance system is able to find, fix, and lock onto target then uses pop-out control surfaces to steer the mortar down onto the tracked target. This contract aims at taking an area weapon known to be inaccurate and convert it to a precision munition that will provide first round effects.
The PKG provides a precision strike capability that is in the field commander’s back pocket,” says Chris HolmesParker, CEO, OKSI. “USSOCOM is a respected partner of ours and we are grateful to be working with them on numerous efforts. This award shows the trust and faith they have in the OKSI team to deliver a solution that needs to be extremely accurate and reliable when lives are on the line.”
OKSI’s PGK leverages detection and tracking algorithms developed in-house to transform a munition that previously had no guidance at all. This is a prime example of integrating new technologies into a weapon system that is organic to the ground unit to enhance their capabilities in the field. Previously, SOF units would have to wait on close-air-support for precision munition effects on target. Having the 81mm PGK on hand will significantly reduce the time it takes for soldiers to affect the enemy.
“We are proud to see our advanced technologies providing our warfighters with cutting-edge targeting capabilities for precision munitions such as the 81mm mortar,” says Christopher Shaub, Director of Strategic Partnerships, OKSI. “Our advanced seekers enhance our frontline capabilities, ensure desired effects, and reduce collateral damage and ammo expenditures. We thank SOCOM for recognizing our unique technology and providing us the opportunity to help our elite operators.”
JOHNSTOWN, Penn. – July 10, 2023 – A critical system in the Marine Corps Ground-Based Air Defense (GBAD) portfolio, the Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS) Remote Weapon Station has reached a pivotal milestone transitioning into full rate production. The remote weapon station is manufactured and managed by Kongsberg in Johnstown, Penn. and is a key component to the larger and holistic system which provides protection from drones and increased lethality against evolving threats.
“The Marine Corps is leaning forward with orders for long-lead items to prioritize the timely production of these systems in support of Force Design 2030,” said William Dixon, MADIS Project Manager, KONGSBERG Protech Systems USA. “As we enter full-rate production for these remote weapon stations, we’re also discussing additional technology we can incorporate into the system to improve and expand their capabilities for the Marines.”
“Kongsberg’s Johnstown facility consistently yields remote weapon station manufacturing excellence, having produced more than 20,000 systems over the last 15 years,” said Eskild Aas, Director US PROTECTOR Programs, Kongsberg. “Delivering the LRIP systems and moving into full-rate production of the MADIS RWS exemplifies our rigorous processes, and is an important milestone for the program office and our team.”
The KONGSBERG RS6 RWS for MADIS RWS includes the XM914E1 30mmx113mm percussion-primed cannon with a co-axial M240C (7.62mm) machine gun, an integration kit for the STINGER Air-To-Air Launcher (ATAL) and provisions for future C-UAS defeat systems. MADIS is part of the U.S. Marine Corps’ plan to upgrade their two active Low Altitude Air Defense (LAAD) battalions. The first 30mm remote weapon system to be qualified on the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle platform (JLTV), MADIS RWS mounts on JLTVs and fights as a complimentary pair, designated as Mk1 and Mk2. The MADIS Mk1 features STINGER missiles, and neutralizes fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. Mk2 fulfills the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) mission requirement, while also providing radar and command-and-control for the pair.
The U.S. Marine Corps awarded Kongsberg the five-year, indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity other transaction authority (OTA) production contract in Sept. 2021. It has a ceiling of $94 million and includes a series of Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) systems, full-rate production units, spares and training. This production contract award followed a Sept. 2020 OTA contract award from the USMC to KONGSBERG for test articles and activities, which included Design Verification Testing (DVT), after a competitive process.
The KONGSBERG RS6 RWS for MADIS leverages technology and competence drawn from multiple counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS) and air defense programs. The system leverages commonality with the family of PROTECTOR RWS delivered and fielded with the U.S. Army and Marine Corps.
KONGSBERG is the world’s leading manufacturer of RWS, having delivered over 20,000 units to more than 20 countries worldwide. KONGSBERG is also the sole provider of RWS and remote turrets to the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps. All RWS and remote turrets delivered to U.S. customers are manufactured in the Kongsberg Johnstown, Penn. facility and leverage our extensive American supply base. The company takes great pride in its continued support to, and for the United States, U.S. employees, and U.S. supply base.

Forward Controls Design and Revival Defense are proud to announce the release of their new family of flash suppressor/suppressor mounts: The 6315RF and 6310RF
The Rearden ATLAS system uses a short, lightweight threaded taper mount muzzle device, which is a popular mounting system. Revival Defense and Forward Controls Design have brought the functionalities and versatilities of the 6315 design to Plan B/Rearden ATLAS compatible mounts. 6315RF (1/2×28) and 6310RF (5/8×24) are the results of the joint development.
The RF series of muzzle devices are based on Forward Controls Design’s 6315 flash suppressor/compensator introduced in 2017. The 6315 design has been incorporated into many popular Dead Air suppressor mounts, such as the 6315KM (Keymo) and 6315XE (Xeno).
6315RF and 6310RF are closed tine, closed bottom flash hider/compensators that are not only durable and capable of consistent suppressor lockup but are also a useful and practical muzzle device without a suppressor mounted.
Flash Suppressor: On most platforms, we prefer flash suppressors for practical reasons. While muzzle brakes provide recoil mitigation, they also produce concussion and flash. RF muzzle devices have identical flash mitigation performance as a standard A2 birdcage, despite being shorter. Internal concentric grooves also increase the surface area of the flash tines without requiring a longer device.

Closed Tine: Closed tine devices reduce the likelihood of snagging on vegetation and webbing. Fully enclosed designs are also stronger.
Closed Bottom: A closed bottom acts as a compensator. It also helps to mitigate dust signature when shooting in prone. 6315RF features asymmetric ports with 10 to 15% better muzzle rise compensation over the A2. For more info on closed bottom, please visit this link:

Suppressor Mount: 6315RF & 6310RF provide a durable and consistent suppressor mount that don’t add weight or length to the front of the firearm. Designed to accept the popular Rearden ATLAS / Q Plan B system, the RF Series is also short enough to maintain compatibility with suppressors that have limited space in the initial blast chamber, such as the CGS Helios QD. These are also designed with a tapered mount, which provides a consistent seal for the carbon, preventing any leakage and keeping the can tight under hard use.
Pièce De Résistance – Rear A2-Style Wrench Slots: Torque specifications matter, and this is particularly true when mounting a suppressor mount to your barrel. RF muzzle devices are compatible with a standard armorer’s wrench and 3/4 wrench, with the wrench flats in the familiar location in rear, behind the ports.. This is beneficial for both installation, or if a suppressor becomes seized on the rifle and additional leverage on the muzzle device with a wrench is needed to loosen the suppressor.
“Revival Defense was established in July 2021 while we were still in California. If someone had told us then that we would have our own product on the market just over a year later, we would have found it hard to believe. Although designing and creating products that have a practical purpose has always been a desire, we did not think it would be a reality this early in our journey.”
– Akshay, Owner of Revival Defense
