UNITY Adds New Version of CTM and Switches with Long Laser Cables

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025

CTM™ Now Available for iRay RH25 and Long Laser Cables for AXON™ and AXON™ SL

Broussard, LA. (Oct. 22, 2025) – UNITY Tactical®, a designer of components that integrate tactical systems and optimize the human factor, is releasing a new version of its Combat Thermal Mount™ (CTM™) specifically for the iRay RH25. It is also expanding its line of AXON™ and AXON™ SL switches to include options with longer laser cables, allowing lasers to be mounted further back on the handguard.

The compact and lightweight CTM for the IRAY RH25 includes all standard features, such as the force-to-overcome mechanism that flips the thermal to the side for stowage. It also comes standard with a FAST™ QD lever, which enables quick detachment and reattachment while maintaining optic co-alignment, allowing the thermal to also function as a handheld imager (HHI). CTM was previously only available for the Trijicon® SkeetIR™x and Pixels on Target™ VooDoo-S™; the three models are not interchangeable.

New AXON and AXON SL variants offer seven-inch light cables and a choice of nine-inch or 13-inch laser cables. Standard single lead AXON SL switches for Crane laser or NGAL laser are also available in nine- or 13-inch lengths. These longer cables provide greater flexibility for users, enabling laser mounting further back, such as on the FAST™ Accessory Riser, while positioning the switch at the front of the handguard.

Both the CTM for the iRay and long laser cables are currently in stock and available for purchase through authorized UNITY dealers and on unitytactical.com.

AUSA 25 – Modular Handgun eXchange, Optional Components for MHS from SIG

Monday, October 20th, 2025

Although the US military selected and fielded its first truly modular pistol, so far they haven’t taken advantage of the possibilities associated with the SIG P320 platform. All that is about to change.

Not long after the contract win SIG put together a custom version of the M18 which I called a SOPMOD pistol at the time. At the time, USSOCOM was keen to move on from their Special Operations Peculiar upgrades to the M4 carbine as it had become an Army common weapon and grated at my appellation. Likewise, the Army hadn’t started fielding yet and wasn’t ready to start making major configuration changes to a pistol that had just adopted.

During AUSA SIG showed three configurations of MHS up for adoption as additional authorized items which they are referring to as Modular Handgun eXchange or “MHX.” Evaluated under the Soldier Enhancement Program, once assigned National Stock Numbers, units will be able to procure the components with O&M dollars like the ROMEOM17 optic authorized in 2023.

The first option is closest to availability and is awaiting assignment of NSNs.

Intended for SOF use, the MHS-SOF takes a rack M18 and incorporates a Brouwer M1811 frame with its integrated flared magwell, flat trigger, safety delete pin to remove the manual safety, threaded barrel for use with a suppressor, and a gas pedal takedown lever, and suppressor height adjustable sights.

The next two options are still undergoing evaluation.

Intended for adoption by units equipped with the M17 or M18, this variant is called the MHS-GFC (General Forces Configuration). It features an improved grip module, Gaspedal takedown pin, and flared magwell.

Here is a shot of the adjustable rear sight.

The last configuration they exhibited is intended for undercover use and named the M18-CC for Concealed Carry.

Like the other options it retains the serialized FCU which is the core of MHS and transforms the pistol into a Black gun more commonly associated with law enforcement. The grip module is available in several size options and is combined with a 3.9″ slide and barrel as well as a flat blade trigger. The 15 round magazine fits flush with aluminum baseplate.

The pistol is also fitted with a compact red dot sight.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Forward Controls Design and Revival Defense Expand RF Line with 1×16 LH A1 Variants

Friday, October 10th, 2025

Forward Controls Design, in collaboration with Revival Defense, has added two new members to the RF family: the 6315RF-A1-LH and 6310RF-A1-LH. Both models are built around the 1×16 LH suppressor standard, bringing A1-style geometry to left-hand threaded suppressor users while preserving the RF series’ compact, dual-role character that defines the line. The RF series has consistently offered practical devices that provide A2-level flash suppression with improved control and reduced ground signature. Earlier models such as the 6315RF and 6310RF feature a closed bottom, mimicking the A2 birdcage to minimize dust signature. The new A1-LH variants depart from that format, incorporating omni-directional porting. Their 360-degree layout provides slightly better flash performance, ensures even dispersion of gasses in all directions, and removes the need for timing during installation.

The A1-LH variants use a 1×16 LH suppressor mount compatible with silencers that feature the integral 1×16 LH mounting system. Examples include CAT QD silencers, the CGS SCI SIX, and the Cobalt Scrambler QD. They can also be adapted for HUB-style silencers using mounts such as the CAT TSFX and AI HUB QD. This approach provides direct compatibility with modern QD suppressor ecosystems without additional adapters.

Both the 6315RF-A1-LH (1/2×28) and 6310RF-A1-LH (5/8×24) are machined from 17-4 PH steel, finished in black nitride, and measure under 1.8 inches in length. Standard wrench flats simplify installation, and a blind hole is included for optional pinning to 16-inch overall builds. Like the rest of the RF line, these products are designed and manufactured in the United States of America.

Availability
The 6315RF-A1-LH and 6310RF-A1-LH are available now through Revival Defense, who partnered with Forward Controls Design on the RF series from its inception. Customers are encouraged to purchase through Revival Defense for immediate stock and shipping.

Shield Arms Announces DS-Series Increased Capacity Magazines for Glock 9mm Pistols: DS-18 and DS-20 Available Soon

Tuesday, October 7th, 2025

Bigfork, Montana manufacturer announces increased capacity Glock 19 and Glock 17 magazines with innovative over-insertion stop technology

BIGFORK, MT – October 7, 2025 Shield Arms, a premier manufacturer of aftermarket Glock magazines and firearm accessories, today announced its DS-Series increased capacity magazines for Glock double stack 9mm pistols. The new product line includes the DS-18 magazine for Glock 19 and the DS-20 magazine for Glock 17, 34, 45, 47, and 19X models.

Increased Magazine Capacity: DS-18 and DS-20 Specifications

The Shield Arms DS-Series delivers what other aftermarket Glock magazines have never achieved: +3 round capacity increase in nearly the same footprint as factory magazines, combined with OEM-style reliability features.

DS-18 Glock 19 Magazine: 18-round capacity magazine for Glock 19 pistols, providing +3 rounds over OEM Glock factory capacity (standard 15 rounds) with only a minimal increase in overall magazine length.

DS-20 Glock 17 Magazine: 20-round capacity magazine compatible with Glock 17, Glock 34, Glock 45, Glock 47, and Glock 19X pistols, offering +3 rounds over factory Glock magazines (standard 17 rounds) with only a minimal increase in overall magazine length.

Additional magazines both smaller and larger coming in the DS-Series!

Innovative Over-Insertion Stop Technology

Both DS-Series Glock magazines feature an over-insertion stop precision-stamped directly into the steel magazine body—a critical reliability feature found in Glock factory magazines but missing in competitors aftermarket Glock magazines.

This feature ensures proper magazine seating depth, prevents over-insertion that can cause ejector damage, feeding malfunctions, and delivers factory-spec reliability. The result is an aftermarket Glock magazine that functions with the same mechanical precision as OEM magazines while providing +3 round capacity advantage.

“The DS-Series represents a breakthrough in aftermarket Glock magazine design,” said Brandon Zeider, CEO of Shield Arms. “We’ve achieved what the market has been asking for: significantly more capacity in nearly the same size as factory magazines, combined with the over-insertion stop feature that ensures OEM-level reliability. These magazines give Glock users the best of both worlds – extra rounds when it matters most, without sacrificing the profile or dependable function they expect from their pistols.”

Availability and Product Options

Shield Arms DS-Series magazines will be available soon through our Distributors and Retail Partners, internationally through our International Distributors, and on our website. Customers can purchase individual DS-18 and DS-20 magazines, or explore complete DS-Series combos and DS-Series magazine extensions for additional customization options.
