SHOT Show 20 – ATOM 2.0 Slides Are Coming From Unity Tactical

Thursday, January 23rd, 2020

Unity Tactical’s original ATOM slides for the Glock family of pistols was offered several years ago via crowdfunding. It was one of the first commercially available after market slides with a cut out to mount a red dot sight.

The new ATOM 2.0 remains a drop in slide for the G17/19, but they are also adding the SIG P320 to the lineup. The footprint allows for a quick swap of RDS.

The slide comes stripped with a channel liner and a suppressor height front sight installed. Rear sights are integrated into the optics plate and I witness through the MRDS. You’ll need to swap out the OEM internals from your current slide or install new ones into the ATOM 2.0 slide.

What’s more, the ATOM 2.0 footprint is licensable and can be applied to most striker fired pistols. Adapter plates are available for most mini red dot sights.

New Sling Designed to be Lightest Model Ever Produced by Butler Creek

?

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – January 22, 2020 – Butler Creek, maker of smart, field-proven hunting and shooting accessories, is excited to announce the lightest rifle sling ever produced by the company with the introduction of the Butler Creek Featherlight sling. Designed to be 45% lighter than any other model offered by the company, the new Featherlight sling features an industry first design with the use of a close cell foam inner material.

The new Featherlight sling is as comfortable as it is durable, resulting in a true multi-purpose sling perfectly suited for long days in the field. Whether used on a bolt-action, shotgun or modern sporting rifles, the Featherlight sling is easily added to any firearm through the use of optional swivels or a conventional strap.

Once in the field, hunters and shooters will appreciate the Featherlight’s breathable construction. Made possible by cut out slots that are evenly spaced across the close cell foam, the Featherlight sling reduces more trapped heat than other competitive models. The Featherlight’s close cell foam also provides superior gripping ability, allowing it to easily adhere to synthetic clothing.

For added security when navigating rough terrain, the Featherlight sling features a large thumb loop attached to the bottom of the sling. Additional features include two built-in cartridge holders giving shooters immediate access to extra ammo should the need arise. Adjustable from 22 to 36-inches, the Featherlight sling is the perfect addition to any long gun.

The new Featherlight slings will be on display during the 2020 SHOT Show (Booth No 14551), January 21-24 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brownells Launches BRN-180 Lower Receivers

Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020

Brownells has just made building a homegrown AR-180 even easier with the release of the BRN-180 Lower Receivers to go with the Uppers they launched at last year’s SHOT Show.

Granted, they’ve introduced some new features like the Picatinny attachment at the rear of the receiver to accept stock systems, but over all, the BRN-180 Lower does a great job of giving the look and feel of the original. As you can see, this allows for multiple configurations, from pistols, to collapsible or folding stocks.

But the real treat is the upcoming stock from B5 Systems which is very similar to the original AR-180 stock.

Below is their press release for the new BRN-180 Lower Receivers.

“The BRN-180 and BRN-180M Lower Receivers were created to take full advantage of the contained recoil system of the BRN-180 Upper Receiver,” said Brownells Director of Product Management Paul Levy.  “The BRN-180 Lowers are available in a forged model, which is inspired by the contours of the original AR-180, and a billet, BRN-180M model, which has a modern profile and design”.

Brownells offers BRN-180 complete uppers in the following models:
