Crimson Trace Aids Aging America

September 24th, 2015

Crimson Trace core 7.75x10.5_150dpi

(Wilsonville, OR)— According to the US Census Bureau report, An Aging Nation: The Older Population in the United States, there were 43 million Americans age 65 or older across America in 2012—the year the numbers were generated. That older age group is dramatically growing, according to the same report. Along with aging comes a common problem—failing eyesight.

Older Crimson Trace customers regularly report having difficulty seeing the rear sight, front sight, and target (three focal planes) required as a normal sight picture when shooting a firearm. Those same gun owning customers report that the bright red or green dot generated from a Crimson Trace laser sight—and visible on the target—renews their confidence.

“The Crimson Trace Customer Service Center receives phone calls on a daily basis from older citizens who have trouble aiming because of diminished eyesight—a common factor in aging,” reports Nate Hoke, Crimson Trace Director of Customer Service. “Those same customers enthusiastically report their Crimson Trace laser sights make all the difference in improving their accuracy—and restoring confidence—by being so easy to see on the target.” The brilliant Crimson Trace red and green laser dots are highly visible on the target—one focal plane—by any shooter who has the company’s laser sights installed and activated.

Older Americans who want to check their vision can consider this resource as a starting point: www.zeiss.com/vision-care/en_us/better-vision/better-vision-with-zeiss/zeiss-online-vision-screening-check. Having laser sights installed on a firearm offers many advantages, and the bright projected laser dot is easy to see in darkness, low light conditions and other times.

Hatch Introduces Sling Carry Pack For Law Enforcement And Military Personnel

New S7 Sling Pack carries essential gear and offers ergonomic, efficient design

ONTARIO, California – Hatch announced today that it has released its S7 Sling Pack featuring three key design elements to create efficiencies in the field for law enforcement and military personnel. This new quick-action bag—designed to carry an officer’s essentials in a less bulky, easier-to-access, and more streamlined way—features a C-clip which attaches to the belt to reduce bouncing, a top flap that opens outward and away from the body, and a contrasting interior color.

“We study the movement and actions of officers and military in the field and constantly look for ways to innovate our products to make their jobs easier,” said Scott Carnahan, Vice President, Equipment. “The features in the new S7 Sling Pack achieve that goal by providing efficiencies designed to simplify tactical movements.”

The S7 Sling Pack allows the officer to carry extra magazines, a trauma kit, spare radio battery and a back-up firearm. Rather than a general-purpose bag, this action bag, constructed of heavy-duty 1000-denier Cordura nylon, features three key innovations:

· The C-clip allows the user to run without worrying about the pack bouncing. The C-clip can also easily be removed so the user can swing it around to the front for easy access when rendering medical help.

· The top flap of the pouch opens outward away from the body so it doesn’t fall in the way when an officer needs to access something quickly.

· The interior color is also designed to contrast with the exterior black color making the contents easier to identify and secure.

The bag contains numerous compartments: three exterior, eight interior and multiple magazine/clip holders. MOLLE loops cover the front of the bag for easy attachment of accessories and the S7 is also designed with heavy duty hardware for significant durability.

The S7 Sling Pack, offered in black, is available now with an MSRP of $49.99.

MDM – Quantico Tactical – Spuhr AB

September 23rd, 2015

It’s always a pleasure to speak with Håkan Spuhr and I had a chance at the Quantico Tactical booth. He had a variety of products but this Adjustment Device for lasers and laser range finders caught my eye. Here, we see it paired with the Spuhr Accessory Ring which allows the mounting of various accessories to a spotting scope.

It allows the user to zero the LRF to the same zero as the spotting scope with an adjustment range of +/- 10 mils at .25 mils per click. The LRF can be detached and reattached without losing zero. Additionally, the LRF can be mounted to a tripod.

It’s a two-piece design with the male portion attached to the Laser Range Finder and the female portion or base, is attached to the Accessory Ring.
