EUROSATORY 2016: IWI Marks TAVOR’s Decade of Excellence in Combat; Will Present, for the First Time, a Military Version of the X95 .300 AAC Blackout

June 9th, 2016

Eurosatory 2016, Paris, France, June 13-17, Israel Pavilion, Hall 6, Stand #E 733

June 9, 2016 – Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) – a leader in the production of combat-proven small arms for law enforcement agencies as well as governments and armies around the world – marks TAVOR’s decade of excellence in combat. The company will present, for the first time, the military version of the X95 assault rifle in .300 AAC Blackout caliber.

According to Uri Amit, IWI’s President and CEO, “We are currently celebrating TAVOR’s decade of successful military operation. The TAVOR became the first new generation bullpup rifle to achieve such popularity in such a short time; in only ten years it has been adopted by dozens of armies and units around the world. The TAVOR was developed in response to the evolving changes in the battlefield, which required a versatile weapon to support fighting in both Close Quarters Battle (CQB) and in open areas. Reaching the highest levels of accuracy in ranges of up to 500 meters, the TAVOR has excellent ergonomics, making it easier for the fighter to operate it on the battlefield.”

For the first time at Eurosatory, the company will present the X95 (MICRO TAVOR) assault rifle in .300 AAC Blackout caliber – making the X95 a multi-caliber platform with the ability to switch to any of 4 calibers (5.56X45mm, 9mm, 5.45X39mm, and now – 7.62×35 mm). The conversion is easily accomplished, requiring only a change of the barrel. Due to the fact that the BLK 300 and the 5.56mm ammunition have the same dimensions, they both use the same standard AR magazine. Since a wide variety of ammunition can be used for the BLK 300 caliber, the rifle can be silenced at a very high level, which is not possible with the current 5.56mm ammunition.

About TAVOR Family of Assault Rifles

IWI’s TAVOR family of Assault Rifles are versatile, innovative, and technologically advanced weapons that have been extensively proven in the battlefield, performing with precision and reliability, and meeting the needs of human ergonomics. The TAVOR family was developed in close cooperation with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), based on experiences acquired in actual combat. Complying with the most stringent NATO standards for small arms – including operation in harsh conditions – the TAVOR is in service in the IDF Infantry and Special Forces as well as in other countries throughout the world. It has a bullpup configuration, a barrel length and weapon size that cover all soldier’s fighting ranges – from 500 meters to indoor operations, fighting from vehicles, urban areas, etc.

About X95 Family of Assault Rifles/Carbines/SMGs

The X95 (MICRO TAVOR) – which can be used as an Assault Rifle, Carbine, or Sub-Machine Gun (SMG) – is designed for Law Enforcement and Special Forces. Developed in close cooperation with elite units and tailored to their specific requirements, it was created to deal with modern terror threats, as well as urban and open area combat – all in one mission. It is the standard Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Assault Rifle, and is the only weapon available in four different calibers. Exceptionally reliable in even the harshest weather conditions, the X95 complies with the most stringent NATO standards for small arms.

Magpul Industries Now Shipping! New Graphic Tees

June 9th, 2016

Every year during the NSSF SHOT Show in Las Vegas, there is a midweek underground race event which breaks up a busy work schedule by pitting a number of company’s teams against one another in one-off, home-brewed vehicles, with mandatory themed costumes. This past year’s jungle theme sparked some interest in the exclusive artwork that Magpul created for their team. So for the first time, they are now producing limited runs of the race-themed artwork for those who couldn’t attend the race. These shirts are really cool.

The “Banana Clips” Tee pokes fun at incorrect terminology for standard capacity magazines, and is very similar to an element of the team Magpul uniform, while this “RAB” Tee commemorates Magpul’s own Baboon Race Bike.

The Fine Cotton T-Shirt has been designed and engineered from the fiber to finished garment to be the softest, most comfortable, mid-weight T-shirt available. Using 100% ring spun cotton and preshrunk, these T’s are constructed with a cut-n-sew pattern exclusive to Magpul. This method of construction features a side seam that controls twisting and torque and is finished off with our own rib collar and custom neck tape.

The Megablend T-shirt, in a similar weight to their Fine Cotton model, offers a more athletic look and feel, with its soft breathable blend of 50% cotton, 38% Poly, and 12% Rayon.

Preshrunk and constructed with Magpul’s own Cut-N-Sew pattern engineering, this tough T will hold up to plenty of abuse and repeated wash cycles. They finish it off with their own rib collar and custom neck tape.

Charity Auction for Special Operations Care – Fund of 2017 Arc’teryx LEAF Drypack 25

June 9th, 2016

Arc’teryx is notorious for being tight lipped about new products until their traditional launch at SHOT Show each year. However, this one time they are making an exception in order to help the Special Operations Care – Fund raise money. Those two organizations have asked us to help them out by hosting this auction of a 2017 25l Waterpoof Pack called the Drypack 25, in MultiCam. These won’t even be announced until late January 2017, so you’re not only getting a rare sneak peek but also a chance to own one. While earlier Drypack models were very mission specific, this one is great for a variety of uses, including many recreational pursuits.

This is the one everyone has been waiting for. The Drypack 25 incorporates an oral inflation tube as well as laser cut PALS compatible slits which offer a lower snag hazard than externally sewn-on webbing. As you can probably tell, it’s a laminate construction with a 725D Cordura face fabric, but it also has an internal urethane coating. This is in a light color which aids with identification of gear when digging through the pack in low light. Another feature you aren’t going to see from the photos is the laminated frame suspension.

There is a waterproof TIZIP with T handle retention loop, which facilitates a wide opening in order to access your gear.

It also has padded dual density shoulder straps as well as a sternum strap.

The waist belt is removable and stowable.

Internally, there is a zippered pocket in the main compartment for smaller items as well as a Velcro Loop Panel for use of the Velocity Systems Inserts developed for LEAF’s Khard series of packs.

Made in Canada.

Thanks to Richard King Photography for the photos!
